  1. Hi Paisley! I am pre-op as well. All of my testing is done and I meet with the doctor this Friday. After that, it's all up to the insurance company! Good luck to you and keep us posted!!
  2. Thanks for posting the method! I am going to try it, but think I will wait until I get home. I somehow think attempting this in front of a classroom full of highschoolers would not be wise. :Dancing_wub:
  3. Are you talking about egg drop soup?
  4. There are some really good ideas on the boards here: Cooking, Baking and Recipes - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support Hope that helps and good luck to you! This rough spot will all be a distant memory before you know it.
  5. Faith, I TOTALLY agree with you!! I also have been very selective about who I tell and have only let a handful in on my "secret". I am just not up to the task of defending my decision to everyone under the sun, when it is really no one's buiness when I am doing it, why I am doing it instead of just trying "one more diet", or anything else for that matter! I already feel like people scrutinize my every meal because I am fat, so why give them one more reason to look at my plate and pass judgement of me? Gee - sound slike I am harboring more anger about this than I realized! LOL
  6. Hi Cheryl Ann! Post and let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it. Good luck to you today!
  7. Christina, Hi and welcome to LBT! You can search for doctors by name by using the search option at the top of the screen, or go to the doctors thread and post. Also, check the insurance thread for your company, or post about it there to get the most responses. And be sure to check out the Alaska board. Hope you find the information you are looking for and good luck on getting your band!
  8. I have read that some people go back to work in just a couple of days, while some wait a couple of weeks. I think it actually is an individual thing depending a lot on the physical requirements of your job and personal tolerance for pain. Since this procedure is not as invasive as RNY, the recovery period is not nearly as long. Good luck!
  9. Hi and welcome to the site. Good luck to you getting your band!
  10. Hi Gwenie! Congratulations on your decision to get the band. There is a lot of information on here about doctors in Mexico. Sounds like you are well on your way to having all of your pre-op stuff taken care of. From what I have read, the liquid diet pre-op is worse than post-op, but not all doctors require the full liquid pre-op, so that's good. Anyway, good luck to you in finding a doctor and welcome to LBT!
  11. Hi! Congratulations on getting your band and good luck!
  12. I have seen it, but share the feelings of others here about the host. I am hoping there might be some info on the website about dealing with the head hunger.
  13. Hi, Mike and welcome to Lapband Talk! To find information on your specific insurance, you would probably do better to either use the search option at the top of the page or post your question under the insurance heading. More people are likely to see it there. Good luck to you!!
  14. This is me now and at 200. Will I EVER be there???
  15. Ashley, I know it's hard right now because of the trouble you had with your WBC, but you have gotten over that hurdle and things are looking up again! When you start second guessing if you are making the right decision, just come here and look around. Read some of the success stories, look at the before and after pics. You have so much life ahead of you and every right not to have to live it fighting your weight every step of the way. I have a son not much younger than you, and I really wish I would have had this option when he was young. Both of our lives would have been so different. You aren't just making this decision for yourself, now, you are doing this for your future and everything you want it to be. Keep your chin up and good luck to you!!
  16. Hi Ashley, Glad you got clearance! Good luck!
  17. Mollie, Congratulations on making the decision to make your future a healthy one! This site is a great place for information and support. I think at some point in this journey we have all been confused and afraid. Just educate yourself as much as you can and if you have any questions, ask them! Take care, good luck, and keep us posted on your progress!
  18. Hi! I lived not far from Myrtle Beach a few years ago when I first got married. I know the liquid diet is rough, but you are so right that it will be worth it in 5 days. Good luck and let us know how surgery goes!
  19. Wow! They are really moving fast for you! Glad things went well for you and you are feeling reassured. Keep us posted on how things are progressing. Good luck!
  20. I am having my surgery at Baptist in Columbia. My doctor is with the Weight Management Center there. It seems once you get the ball rolling things move along pretty quickly, as long as your insurance company is cooperative. I meet with the doctor next week and then will be submitted to insurance. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Stay in touch and let me know how things are progressing. Good luck!!
  21. Congratulations, Kammi. Wow, a true family affair!! That is really awesome because you will all be quite a good support system for each other. Good luck to you and your family!
  22. And some less. I think it depends on a lot of factors, such as the physical demands of your job, pain tolerance, etc. I have read on here where some have gone back to work within 48 hours and some have been a week or more.
  23. Good luck Alesha! The pre-op diet will be over before you know it and then it will be time for the post-op. Woo Hoo!! Keep up the good work!
  24. Oh Cheryl Ann! Congratulations!! Good luck on Monday. I'll keep you in my prayers!
  25. Hi and welcome to the site. You are really losing well! Good luck!!
