I was sleeved on the first and my incisions have pretty much healed BUT they are still swollen and itchy. I've tried Neosporin--alergic reaction, Cortizone cream, and Benedryl spray. None of these things seem to be helping. The doc suggested covering with bandaids to prevent irritation but I have an adhesive allergy. Is anyone else having issues with your incision spots?

Sleeve on the first went pretty well. I still get nauseous when I try to drink water. The sweet Crystal Light at the hospital made me vomit (ouch)! I've been tolerating Crystal Light Lemonade (on the weaker side). All in all, I'm recovering. Just wish my TOM hadn't decided to show until I'm not so sore.

I have taken to smelling my kid's food. I try to tell myself it is just a wonderful smell...not food. It's just a weird room freshener that happens to smell like pizza or bacon or potato soup. (I have to admit my only cheat was taking my daughter's soup spoon and dumping out the soup and liking the back of it.) My kiddos have quickly adjusted to their crazy mom sniffing their food.

Going in tomorrow! I'm nervous and excited. I don't post very often but I want to thank everyone who does. I've been lurking and learning a lot. I've been encouraged by everyone's sharing. (I'm sorry. I tend to over-think my posts and then end up not posting.)

Thank you for this great info! I am much more willing to comply with rules if someone takes the time to explain "why".

Welcome Mike. I'm pretty new here too. I'm also scheduled for Aug 1st. Are you on a pre op diet or anything? I can certainly relate to excited/nervous. Just add emotional to that! Here's to our new start!

Surgery 7/31. Started liquids last Friday. The headaches get better. I had 2 sugar frees no ones this weekend and have been chewing sugar free gum. Both help with the chewing for me. I hope this works. I'm using my phone to reply. How techie am I?! Are you getting nervous/excited? liquid diet is going pretty well. My appetite is dwindling. I don't know if this is normal or not. My energy level was very low on Sun. but seems to be doing better. I have been very emotional! My family has been wonderful. They have been cooking for themselves AND doing the dishes! LOL! Today I had 2 Premier Protein drinks, some chicken broth, ff Jello, and a Atkins Protein Drink.We can do this!

We will be at RMH together having surgery on the same day...small world! I'm in Harrisonburg.

I was craving a solid so badly by this evening. I made an icee with ice, water, and one scoop of powdered chocolate protein drink. It did the trick. Just thought I'd share.

Today's my first day of pre-op liquid diet. I'm having protein drinks and broth. I've also had a cup of coffee. I'll be honest. I have a terrible headache and I'm crabby. Skylarkx, It's good to see someone on the same schedule. Hope you're coping well.

I'm scheduled for surgery Aug. 1. I'm supposed to start my preop diet tomorrow!
