  1. My name is Andrea. Omg...less than 3 weeks away!
  2. I think my email said LaQuinta. Either way, we'll probably be walking the halls together after surgery! One part of me is extremely excited. Another part is scared to death. Lol
  3. Omg. Did I say the 4th? I meant the 5th!! I will be there for pre-op at 10:30 on the 4th at the hospital and 1:00 at Dr. Stowers office. Then surgery on the 5th. We will be there together. I am coming from Wichita Falls, so they have set me up with a hotel room the night of the 4th.

  6. Me! I went to my initial consultation at his office on 3/31 and did the psych eval the same day. I also did my 3 months of medically supervised weight loss that Cigna requires thru his office with a nurse practitioner. My stuff was submitted to insurance on 6/23 and was approved on 7/2. Surgery will be on 8/4.
  7. Same here! I have managed to waste a ton of PTO time on surgeon consult, nutrition/supervised weight loss appointments and PCP appointments, that I will barely have enough PTO time to take for my surgery. Ideally, I was hoping to have surgery on a Friday when I'm normally off, then take the next work week off. That would've given me 9 days off post-op. But alas, that was not in the cards. My surgeon only does surgery on Tuesdays, so I will end up with only 5 days off post-op and have been stressing about it. Glad to see that I am not alone!
  8. I started this journey on March 31. Jumped thru the insurance hoops. Packet was sent to insurance on June 23rd. Was approved by Cigna on July 2nd. Surgery (VSG) is scheduled for August 5th. I will do a 1 week pre-op full liquid diet starting on July 28th. Nervous, but excited. I live about 1.5 hours from where the surgery will be performed (because the local bariatric center NEVER called me back to schedule my initial consult! After contacting them several times and hearing, "We'll call you back.") So my surgeon's office has set me up to stay overnight in a hotel the night before my surgery.
  9. Hi, all. This is my first post here. Very glad to see that I will have plenty of company on August 5th!
