How Fast do the weight come ofg
I also thought the weight would just fall off at a tremdous rate, but we all lose differently. We did not gain this over night. The main thing is it is coming off and hopefully forever. You have to remember you have put your body through a lot. You need to stay off of the scales the first month and give your body time to heal......this should be your main goal right now. Don't be disappointed when you hit stalls.....we all do.....some for weeks and some for months. Most of the time during stalls you will still lose inches.......Good Luck!

Protein
GENEPRO http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I go by every morning to a shake shop....get a Chunky Monkey (35 grams of protein).....add a scoop of Genepro (30 grams of protein)....mid morning I fix a Crystal Light and add another scoop.....I already have 95 grams for the day!!! Contact the website....I understand that they will send you samples?? Also check this link out....it might be helpful: What You Need to Know Before and After Surgery https://www.allinahealth.org/ahs/bariatric.nsf/page/bariatric-manual-2010.pdf/$FILE/bariatric-manual-2010.pdf

I too never had a problem with protein shakes before the surgery.....I got where I could not choke one down and was averaging (if I was lucky) 30 grams of protein a day before I heard of Genepro. I tried ISOPURE and first thought they were great.....then I started adding Crystal light to them where I could drink them but they left such an after taste. I tried everything.....contact the website and they will send you a sample.

Help! I'm frothing. A lot!
I was foaming like a mad dog, everytime I tried to eat. Dietician told me to take smaller bites (the size of a dime) and chew chew chew. One meal should last 20-30 minutes. Another reason for all the foam.....I waited more than four hours between eating and my stomach was filling up with stomach acids. Eat small amounts often.

Between supplment meals....snacks?
Nuts sometimes are hard to digest. The reason they want you on a liquid diet is so your liver is not fatty and it doesn't get in the way of surgery. I did get me some instant potato packages and made it so thin I could drink it from a cup..... Told myself it was potato soup.

4 week stall and late cycle
I was in the same boat......it is so depressing when you are not dropping weight. Make sure you are getting all of your Protein in and all of your Water in. I thought I was getting "most" of my water in. I downloaded an app to track it and I wasn't getting enough water in. It helped when I started drinking more water,

PCP Letter Template
I was also instructed to write a letter to the insurance company (Dr office submitted it with their paperwork)...hope this helps: To Whom It May Concern: I originally had a VBG (Vertical Band Gastroplasty Stapling) in 1980 Following the surgery of the VBG I was very compliant with the post-operative directions, including but not limited to: Not "over-eating" Not drinking during meals No carbonated drinks Exercised and tried to walk at least a mile or more every day Attended all follow-up appointments I never was able to lose any countable amount of weight. The stapled band was too loose and there was no way to adjust it, therefore there was very little restriction, causing poor weight loss. I vomited regularly until the staple line dividing the stomach broke down. The VBG is now causing a lot of concern. The staple line came completely apart and I now have two separate pouches for a stomach. Per Dr. xxxxx M.D., this is why I cannot lose weight and will never be able to lose the weight. This has nothing to do with compliance and has caused a great deal of pain and discomfort. I still suffer with acid reflux, heartburn, spasmodic esophagus and vomiting. Dr. xxxx also diagnosed me with H Pylori gastritis. My stomach problems gets worse when it is empty and improves when I eat food or drink milk, which then I get diarrhea. The bacteria can also attach to cells of the stomach, causing stomach inflammation and can stimulate the production of excess stomach acid. Over time, this with the bacteria can increase my likely hood of developing stomach cancer. Over the years I have done everything I can to control my weight and have failed at all attempts. I can lose some weight, but then I gain it all back and more. With my severe morbid obesity, I suffer with diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, anxiety, panic attacks and neuropathy. I am having significant adverse symptoms from my obesity. I have difficulty standing and walking. I have difficulty performing any daily activities and in participating in any family activities. I have intolerable problems with the constant pain of the weight-bearing joints. If I continue the way I am, I will have to have both knees replaced. I have already had three gel shots at the cost of $2000 each trying to be able to keep walking and am in the need of shots in each knee again at this time. I have sleep apnea and have been diagnosed with Obesity Hypoventilation. I suffer severe episodes of drowsiness, or narcosis and unable to drive a car a long distance. The way I am right now, I might have five years to live. I don’t want to face the possibility of cancer and I would like to get to the point that I am healthy and add twenty or more years to my life. Sincerely,

Thrift Eating
I love hearing how all of us was taught to clean our plates??? I use to tell my mother it was her faught that I was fat because she would always tell me "if you be good you can have a bowl of ice cream" "if you be good you can have a cookie"......well I saw myself "VERY GOOD"......and I constantly rewarded myself!!! LOL

Thrift Eating
Proud of you!!!!! My husband and I had a lot arguements over this! We both grew up in a household of where you had to clean your plate because children in China are going hungry. I refused to pass this on to my children. My husband felt they should clean their plates and I didn't. I did not want them to be overeaters like me and him. My children are now grown and are healthy eaters with no bad habits of overeating!!!!

Ugh my Mother!
I am a mom of adopted children. Moms never stop worrying or praying for their children no matter how old they are. My sister and I fought our weight our entire life. My mother was able to control her weight thru diets (and it was a struggle), but diets never worked for me and my sister. My sister had her surgery a couple of years ago and is down to a size 10. I just started my journey. My mom did not live long enough to see us reach our goals. After your surgery....share each milestone with your mom. Let her know how happy you are and I asure you she will be happpy and excited right alone with you!

Cauliflower: A White Food That’s Really Good for You
I saw the other day where they grated the cauliflower to rice and then fried it in a nonstick pan and made a "tortilla".......it looked so good! I also love potatoe salad made out of cauliflower! Thinking about it makes me wish I could eat!!

Hair loss
On another thread someone said it did not matter what you took your hair is going to fall out. I truly believe this. I had emergency hysterectomy and 90 days later all of my hair fell out. I went to the doctor and he told me it was because my system went through a schock. He told me it could be from surgery, death, wreck...etc...anything that is a shock to your system.

Playing the waiting game BCBS TX
I have BCBS as an employee of the State of Texas. I feel really blessed. My insurance was filed on a Friday and they approved it on the following Tuesday. I had all my medical records and supervised weight loss verification in hand on the first visit with the doctor. As soon as I completed my test, they filed my insurance. Everything fell into place without any problems. Felt like God was telling me it was my time!!

New and Worried
I went to a doctor for over 10 years. He told me on several occasions that he would never agree for me to have WLS. I changed doctors and the first thing my new doctor asked me if I had ever thought about WLS surgery? I ordered my records from the other doctor (my insurance required five years). They sent me the records on a disk. Before I went to see the WLS surgeon I had complete records on what my insurance (BCBS) required in hand. The insurance clerk was so surprise....said she had never had a patient bring everything in with them. After I had all of my test ran...they submitted my claim on a Friday and the insurance approved it on Tuesday....never dreamed they would approve so fast.

Vomiting
Soft is all that I eat and protein drinks. I cannot handle solid foods at all and some days can't handle food period. I haven't been able to eat eggs. I ate a whole poached egg once..... Usually after a couple of bites I can tell it is not going to stay down.

Chewable/Liquid Paleo vitamins and protein?
Do you have a GNC? If not you can order online. I got a liquid vitamin for bariatrics......it was not too bad of taste....had an orange taste to it. I have also used "Teen" gummie vitamins from Walmart....they met all of the guidelines. Check out http://www.musclegen.net/ see if this will help you with your protein. It has really helped me. There is a video on the lower right hand side to watch.
