  1. It is my understanding that the video states that their 15 grams equals same amount as 30 grams of protein.....
  2. I wasn't told not to eat bread.....just keep everything soft and chew chew chew right now. I only ate half of the bread.....have four legged friends that helped with the bread.....LOL Talked to the NUT Friday and she told me to work on getting 1/2 cup of food down. The main thing was the Protein and I am so glad to find one that works for me.
  3. Finally found a Protein that I could get down and keep it down and actually like! Yea! I am finally getting in all of my protein. I ate a whole poached egg for the first time this weekend without it making me sick! I was able to eat little less than a 1/2 cup for lunch Saturday and Sunday! This is an accomplishment......all I had been able to handle was a tablespoon at a time and I am seven weeks out??? I even ate an 1/2 of a chicken salad sandwich today and it did not make me sick........feeling so much better!!!
  4. I was told you do this so your liver is not as fatty. It makes it easier to get around your liver when they do the surgery. I only had to do seven days. Each doctor is different.
  5. I admire all of you! I stayed off four weeks and then went back to work 1/2 days for a week. I was so tired and had to build up my strength. After they started letting me have my Iron......felt lots better and got around better!
  6. My husband has seen how I have struggled for years with my weight. I would lose and then gain it all back and then some. My knees and joints have wore out after all of these years of extra weight. I have tried and tried to get WLS and it was never possible. This past year everything fell into place. I told my husband that I felt God was telling me it was my time. I am 61 years old and the weight has ruined my health. I am praying to get healthy again and live a long life. I am telling you to go for it while you are young. Live your life to the fullest!!!
  7. I had my surgery 6/10 and still cannot eat. I know within minutes if it is going to come back up. The most I can eat is 1-2 TBL. I usually cannot eat at night at all??? I can eat about a half of egg and it is ??? whether it will stay down. I get a terrible feeling and then thick mucus comes up (TMI). I do a little better if I don't drink thirty minutes before I eat and wait 45 minutes after I eat. I have to take little bity bites and chew chew chew! Wait between bites. Tried watermelon last night and I knew immediately that I had messed up with the first bite. I was able to get a few bites of potato Soup from Scholtzsky's down today at lunch and so far so good!
  8. Don't obess with the scales. The first month you should focus on letting your body heal...it has been through a lot!
  9. LOL! The other day I went in to see the NP.....she said I can tell in your face you are losing weight....I laughed and said "I am waiting for the day that you tell me that you can tell with my butt that I am losing weight"!
  10. I praise God when I reach your point. The main reason I wanted this surgery was so I could walk again. My knees and joints have worn out carry around all of this weight. I have not been to the mall in about seven years (which is not always a bad thing). I just want to be able to walk and go places with my kids and grandkids......just enjoy life.
  11. @@TEXASLADY52 What kind of cheese do you use to bake? This sounds delish! . I use whatever I have on hand... Usually shredded....I put a size of a tablespoon. You can add different spices
  12. My surgery was in June also. I haven't been able to eat any of what you listed. I can only eat half of a poached egg. I went back to work this week. Thankfully I have a Dorm refrigerator in my office. My main source of Protein is Isopure.....40 grams of protein a bottle.....I mix a little of Crystal Light in with it. The other source I turn to is cottage cheese. I also drop cheese on parchment paper and bake until the edges turn brown...makes cheese chips...aprox 7 grams of protein each. I keep them in a ziplock bag on my desk.
  13. I don't want to sound discouraging and everyone is different. I had my surgery 06/10/2014 and there was no way I could have gone on vacation three weeks out. I went back to work this week and I'm exhausted. I had stretching and pulling pain on my left side around two incisions until last week.
  14. Are you in Lubbock? Charlotte Hodges with Barker Bariatrics did mine. I had my month checkup yesterday and I have lost 30lbs....so right now I average a pound a day. I have not started eating a lot. I am still mostly on blended food. They really worked with my insurance. I work for the State and we have horrible insurance. The legislator sets our insurance. It took forever to get bariatrics in our insurance plan. All my insurance will pay is a flat rate of $13,000. The only problem I am having is I cannot take any arthritis medicine. I am so stiff and my knees hurt so bad that I cannot not get in any walking or exercising.
  15. Five weeks out...... I have had a terrible time finding a Protein that I could tolerate. The Whey Protein Bullets smelled like vinegar and tasted like it....after I got it down...it came right back up. Premier was too thick and I just could not stand them. I am still struggling. I started drinking the Isopure. These are lot better than anything I have tried and they have 40 protein. I like them over ice and I add Crystal Light to them to flavor it up.
  16. I had my surgery June 10. I had bad pulling and stinging on my left side around two incisions. When I laid down was the worst. I could not get any sleep because I could not turn or move without the pulling and hurting. I was constantly holding my side when I sneezed or coughed or tried to pull myself up out of bed. I ran out of my pain medicine and they would not give me anymore. So about a week I could not sleep at all and dreaded to even to lay down. Then this past weekend.....all of a sudden I didn't hurt anymore. It seemed to quit over night........it will get better.
  17. I had DS last month thru Barker Bariatrics.
