Quest4TheNewMe reacted to Get.Waisted in 7 mos out, failing horribly... ????
Right. I do know what to do and for the last week I was doing good but fell off today. And I feel horrible. I think what I really need to do is actually sit down and do some meal planning and then prep for the whole week, it seems I always get off course when I don't have Snacks and/or meals on plan already thought out. If that makes sense.

It is never too late to get back on track. It is simply a matter of how bad you want to do it. Nothing worth achieving is easy, unfortunately.

So they've let me move on to softish foods. The difference a little cottage cheese makes to my day! I feel 1000% better! Thanks everyone for the support!

Losing weight and becoming healthier are more of an energy boost to me than anything I could take. Your body is undergoing some radical changes. Be patient and keep up the routine and you will get back to where you were without the need for an artificial boost. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but it is the truth!

Good for you. After all, this is YOUR journey and you may not fit into some nut's WLS textbook guidelines. I'm generally a big fan of following the rules, but I also think you should be able to take responsibility for doing what's best for you. Best of luck.

And I'm not asking anyone to give me permission to go against her orders. I'm just looking to compare and find out that if I feel that I need to something outside of that she recommends that it isn't completely insane by other people's standards.
I will be doing one Protein shake in the mornings, we'll see how the rest of the day goes after that.
I also understand that long term, three meals makes sense, but at this point the volume is so small. Thankfully I don't feel any hunger. I'm just weak and tired (at least partially due to lack of nutrition).

From the very beginning I've always just eaten when I get hungry...every 3 hours or so. I don't make a distinction between a meal and a snack. Just eat till satisfied, whether it's a couple bites or a small plate full. It's really as simple as making healthy choices, getting in all your Protein, Water and Vitamins and staying away from simple carbs and trigger foods. But I guess if they didn't make it complicated, the nuts wouldn't have a job.

I eat 3-5 meals of approximately 4 oz. My nutritionist said 3 meals plus two Snacks, but because I exercise, she said five meals would be okay. I also drink one Protein Drink throughout the day.

My doctor recommended 3 small meals and 2 Snacks. I think some people get thrown by the word snack . Actually it was just 5 small meals ~ 3 hours apart.

My plan calls for 3 meals per day, no Snacks other than Protein Shakes. At the puree stage (weeks 4 - 8), meals were 3 tablespoons max and at the soft food stage (months 3 - 6), 3 ounces max.

I thought I had heard of people eating every 3-4 hours. No biggy on the 3 meals, just curious.
Yes, puréed was a great progression!! I just finally moved from clear liquid to puréed yesterday.

I haven't started yet, (2 days to go!) but 3 meals a day is also what I was instructed. I never thought I would be so excited to be able to eat what is essentially baby food!

I've done all of the above.
Small slice of thin crust, just the toppings and making my own.
I like using Flatout low carb flatbread as a crust. They even have an Italian spiced one meant for pizza crust.

@@ElyQuint What is a "house spouse"? I've never heard that before is it a boyfriend you live with or your actual husband? ....anyway I can see how you might be a little frustrated but remember you made the decision to have WLS for yourself and only yourself. You can expect someone else to change their life just because you did. If you don't want to be with your partner anymore because of the "what ifs" then so be it. Weight is not the only thing people die of and it doesn't mean he will be in a wheelchair or on chemo..(not sure how chemo even has anything to do with it) If the man is happy the way he is then leave him be and if you feel the need to leave than leave but don't try to make him be something he's not.

I have not tried them. I'm kind of hoping to find a powder so I can change up the flavors more easily (add PB2, maybe some sf flavorings, etc). I'll definitely keep those in mind though!

I don't like the froth either. I normally throw it in the fridge for 10 minutes after blending to let it dissipate before drinking, or pour it over ice, which also helps kill the froth.

I use a magic bullet blender, because I too hate the clumps! It works great for this application. You can do one cup at a time, drink it, give it a quick wash and it is ready to go next time. (I promise, I have no affiliation with the magic bullet company! Just sharing what works!)

Everybody said this doesn't hurt! They all f***ing lied! He was laughing which I didn't find amusing in the least. Then he told me ok now don't cuss...if I could I wound have punched him in the throat. Luckily he gave me something that kicked the pain almost instantly so then I could have kissed his face...that recovery room is a dangerous job!

@@KatrinaGrace My goodness! Calm down Dear! Nobody says "you can NEVER have carbs again" there's really nothing you can never have again. Banging your head and eating potato chips won't help in any situation. You didn't say when you had surgery?! November? I'm going to assume you are having a freak out moment because A: you aren't feeling good. B: maybe you haven't graduated to "real" food yet. C: wonderful delightful explosion of hormones? D: you were misinformed about your new way of eating? Or E: all of the above. The first few weeks are taxing to say the least. You are not doing yourself any favors By getting all worked up this early in the game. A lot , and I mean I've seen a lot of people with regret early out and then turn around and say how grateful they are Later. It's ok to vent, cry, scream, whatever get it out and let it go!
