Too funny!! Mine is really loud too..especially after eating. Sometimes only I can hear it. Sometimes I think "maybe it's not that loud" and I look at hubby & he is desperately trying to supress a smile! He can't, however, resist laughing when the hiccups start at the end of a meal-the new normal LOL

I've been doing very well with my sleeve. It’s said on this site all the time but I'm say it as well...Getting the sleeve was the best decision I've made and I wouldn't change anything. I had a positive outlook on the entire situation from the beginning and I truly believe that helped.

I started out at 262lbs, I lost 15lbs from doing the pre op diet, and today I weight 156lbs so total I’ve lost 106lbs. I started in a size 22 now I’m in a size 8.

No, I did not work out, however I did change my eating habits, I completely gave up sugar and only do sugar substitute or sugar free. I do Protein first and I eat a lot of Protein Bars, I can’t stand the shakes they make me nauseous.

In the beginning this was all like a fantasy or a dream, but now I’m actually living it and it feels wonderful.

I am a little over nine weeks out and am officially down 60 pounds as of this morning. That is half way to my goal weight of 215 lbs! 60 more pounds to go. I cant say that the first 60 was easy but it definitely gives me confidence that I will reach my goal. WOOHOO!

This is such a huge milestone for me. I'm not at goal yet and still have about 20 lbs to go but... I've lost a hundred pounds!! Had my band taken out and the sleeve done on the same day last year December 30th. I feel so much better even though I have my battle wounds. I'll likely have to have my arms done at some point but for now I'm in a size 8 and I am very proud of myself. Thank u for being here for me along the way.

As the primary care giver for you children you need to think of your health and longevity. I know that everyday was a struggle prior to surgery for energy and ease of movement. I am still a long way from goal but feel tons better. I am losing hair at an alarming rate but it is just hair and will grow back. I have so many positives they are too many to mention. It is your choice but really think it through. Surgery wasn't scary or too uncomfortable. Learning to eat with your new tummy can be difficult at times but I have done way harder things. It doesn't seem like your man is going to be there for you either way so do what you feel is best for your health and well being. I would do it again a million times over.

old_rn reacted to LipstickLady in FINALLY! I have found not one but TWO things I **HATE** about my sleeve.
First and foremost, I am cold as a mothafookah! ALL THE TIME.

I am wearing jeans when most people are wearing shorts. I always have a tank top on under my sweater and am usually wearing fleece leggings under my pants. As a fatty, I never ever wore a coat unless I was skiing and now, not only do I wear one, but I carry a spare if I am going in to my kids' schools to use as a blanket.

I keep my house at 74 and I turn on the fireplace when I am downstairs. I set my car thermostat at 88 and can hardly bear to get out of my car and go into stores. The grocery, which is always colder than any other place including Antarctica, has me scurrying through as quickly as possible and shaking uncontrollably by the time I am out of there.
I sleep in wool socks, fleece leggings, a tank and a long sleeve tshirt. I wrap myself in a wool blanket and then get under the sheet, fleece blanket, down comforter and regular comforter. (Husband is pretty sure he's not getting any action until summer. He's probably right.)

I am cold cold cold cold cold and it's 45 degrees outside. I am probably not going to survive when it hits the teens.

Second is something I just figured out last night. I can no longer have a glass of milk with my brownie/muffin/cake. Yeah, yeah, I know. I am not supposed to be eating those things, but I had the sleeve so I could live a relatively normal life post op. I have a slight stricture so I am forced to follow the no drinking for an hour after eating rule or I will vomit. I don't like it, but I've leaned to live with it after 18 months.
Last night I ate half of the best chocolate chip muffin I've ever had. I wanted a glass of milk SO bad, I couldn't resist. I poured about two inches and it was so delicious, I chugged it. The milk and the muffin revisited. Quickly. I barely made it to the bathroom. Ugh.

SO YES. I found two things I hate about my sleeve. That said, there are so many HUGE things I love about it, I don't regret it for a minute. I can bundle up, I can wait on the milk. I can't imagine ever going back to where I was. I am thrilled about my decision despite these two stupid little things and I am so happy I had surgery. SO HAPPY.

Today i Celebrate my one year surgiversary! I am so proud of everything that i have accomplished. I started at 257lbs and am now dow 98 pounds in total. My current weight is 159lbs. I am still a few pounds away from my goal but i am happier than i have ever been in my life. I have struggled with my weight since i was a little girl. I had such an intense loathing for the way i looked most of my life. I feel like this surgery has changed me so much mentally and physically. before i had pain all over my body, Migraines, depression etc. I would refuse to even look at people. Now i have gained so much confidence and it feels so good! i chase my kids around the park for hours while before i was only able to go for about 30 mins. i wouldnt exercise at all and I was treating myself horribly by gorging myself on food. now i feel like i actually know what real NUTRITION is. its not just stuffing my face. its all about giving my body fuel, and using that fuel for energy. One of the best parts is that i can go about my day and not have to think about food every second. Before i literally felt like i was that little boy in the movie d**k Tracy, all i could say is "when do we eat?" I wouldnt trade my sleeve for anything. So for the first time here are my before and after pics.

I am over 50 and feeling much better since I have been losing weight. I had the surgery because I was tired of joint pain, being out of breath, and couldn't walk very far without my feet hurting. I also had leg swelling that never seemed to go away. I no longer have joint pain, walking is a breeze and I look better too. I will see in December if I can lose some meds or the cpap. Best decision I have made since I divorced my hubby!

not big on posting but want to encourage others
Dr said I should lose around 100lbs in 5 months
Lost 100lbs in just under 4 months
Surgery was june 9th at 321lbs , todays weight was 221lbs
Granted todays weight was after my walk and skipping Breakfast and I was "commando"
    3month stall was a killer , didn't lose anything for 2 weeks
After the 3month stall ( hits everyone it seems ) I jacked up the Protein and cut out carbs
Lot's of hard boiled eggs and chicken breast
Now don't think I didn't cheat from time to time on my diet
Sometimes after a week of salad I couldn't eat rabbit food anymore and had to have a burger
Wasn't McD's or Burger King , went to the super market and bought lean ground
And I didn't over do it , hey we all deserve a treat , just not over indulging
Funny everyone asks if I feel different and truth is no....not really
To be honest I just don't really feel different
But it is almost time to buy new clothes cause the one's I have now just look funny hanging off me
Hey it worked , just exercise and follow the diet as best you can and you'll see it work for you also
