  1. I felt the same way. I am almost 2 months post op and a part of me still thinks I am going to fail. This is not easy. It is a life changing experience. The mental part of this experience has been the hardest thing for me. I have changed so much. I could not work out because of pain. In less then 2 months my high BP is cured and I am off 3 medications for pain. I hiked 4 miles yesterday. I never could have done this before. I would have been in bed for 2 wks recovering. Before the surgery I wanted to keep it a secret because I was ashamed that surgery was my last option. Well, now I will shout it from the roof tops. My RNY has changed my life. I'm a better wife and mother and I know I will be around for many more years to come. I would do it again tomorrow.

    This is hard....

It gets better, I promise. I felt the exact same way. I had no idea how it would become a job to drink and I still couldn't meet my protein or h2o quotas. It took me about 6 wks post op until I finally was able to get in my liquids. I was terrified to try new foods. My husband really helps me. I am almost 2 months post op and I can only take in about 1 1/2 oz at a time of food. I snack on fage 0 with a packet of stevia, 1% milk, and the premier protein (premade) is the only protein shake I can get down. Take it one day at a time. It will get easier and you will be so thankful you did this for yourself. I'm proud of you, it sure isn't easy.
  3. 51 lbs down. A part of me thought I would fail at this too. I am so proud of myself.

    No BM in two weeks?

This happened to me about 3 weeks post op. It was horrible. I thought it was ok bc I wasn't taking in much of anything. I put miralax 2 x a day in something I was drinking. Miralax is slower to work but it will work and it doesn't cause any cramping. It took about 3 days. I hope you get some relief soon.
  5. My Dr. told me today that I am cured of high blood pressure. I had surgery Dec. 30. What a blessing.
  6. 6 days after RNY. I'm getting in my protein. Hopefully I will get to my water goal today. I am really wanting to eat food. I know it's in my head. 10 more days of full liquids. I CAN do this.

    Dec 30 Date!

I'm starting clear liquids today. I am really excited about my new journey. I am anxious about the surgery, having dreams about it all night long. I will be happy when that part is over. Any advice on anything you wish you had known going in, either for the hospital or first weeks home?
  14. I bought gas x strips to take to the hospital with me just incase the gas is bad. I've never used them before. I pray they work. I hope y'all get some relief soon.
