  1. okay, update again, I'm using this one now, and it actually tastes pretty good and is available at Walmart! Comes in chocolate, strawberry, Cookies and Cream, Vanilla, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. So far though, I've only been brave enough to try the plain chocolate. (lol)
  2. this one is actually pretty tasty and is available at WalMart for about $18
  3. An update - I have some Syntrax nectar on the way, looking forward to trying that. I also tried one of these this morning... Core Power Light - 20g Protein 150 calories, but 11g carbs... It tasted GREAT! but the carbs...now I'm bummed again...
  4. Technically, I don't "have" to start the pre-op diet for another 2 weeks, but I've been trying different Protein shakes just to make sure I find some I like, and so far I'm 0 - 4, with the Protein Shakes winning, cuz they all taste like "death with sweetener added"....lol... I have been told to try some unflavored powder in Soups and other drinks though, so I'm trying that next. I've just never been a big "sweets" kinda person, my downfall is bread and Pasta, so these shakes are KILLING me...so to speak...
  5. So far I've tried EAS vanilla and Dark chocolate, and Muscle Milk Light in banana and Chocolate, and the only thing even remotely appetizing is the chocolate flavors, but they all leave me feeling nauseous for several hours afterward. My next test will be the waters and soups.... Thanks everyone for your recommendations!!!

    July 23rd Today!

    Congrats Diva!!!
  7. Hi Everyone, I'm four weeks out from surgery and have been trying different Protein shakes in anticipation of the pre-op diet, but they are all sickly sweet and leave me nauseated for hours after I drink just one. How on earth am I going to drink three in one day when I can't even stomach just ONE ??? Does anybody here have suggestions for alternatives that are okay for the pre-op diet? Are the protein waters any good? Can the protein shots substitute for the shakes? I'm just really not looking forward to having that nauseous feeling all day for two weeks before surgery, then after as well... Ideas????

    All In August 2014!

    August 24th for me!
  9. Got my surgery date set for August 24th, 2014. I'm going with Dr. Elias Ortiz/A Lighter Me in Tijuana, Mexico. Now the prepping begins and the nail-biting, and everything else...lol
  10. I had been in the "researching" phase for quite a long time, then a month ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease caused by type 2 diabetes. Literally, scared me out of my self-induced coma. I realized then that if I didn't do something "drastic" I was going to die. I, like many, can check off a list of things that led me here... 1-husband left-cheated on me 2-was molested as a teen 3-depression issues that were undiagnosed for years 4-type 2 diabetes 5-high blood pressure 6-sleep apnea 7-arthritis 8-chronic pain 9-kidney disease 10-??? I don't want to let this list get any longer. I'm taking control, starting NOW! Thanks for listening, rant over... AudraN

    Who Are You?

Hello Everyone! My name is Audra, I am a single mom and am currently in the process of planning for my surgery. I've chosen to have the VSG done in Tijuana with Dr. Elias Ortiz, hopefully within the next month or so. That said, here's more about me. I work as the Morning News Anchor for a local Talk Radio station in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I also have my own business designing websites/graphics. I am an avid reader. (more books than friends is a comment that has been heard in reference to me quite often...lol) I have always been more of an introvert than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I have friends and I have a lot of fun when I spend time with them, but I am also perfectly happy spending time on my own with a good book. I'm also a very crafty person, although I don't sew (much to the disappointment of my mother...haha). I've been divorced for going on 10 years now. I am considered VERY outspoken, sometimes a little too sarcastic for most people to understand, but I'm okay with that. My favorite color is lime green, in fact, I'm a little obsessed with it...if it's possible to be obsessed with a color...lol. I enjoy the outdoors, but don't like to sweat or get dirty, so hopefully that will change as I shed the weight and can be comfortable outdoors. I'm an avid Doctor Who/Sherlock/Supernatural fan and I love superhero movies and sci-fi. Yes, I'm a GEEK and I'm proud to say it! That's all I can think of at the moment, if you would like to know something about me, just ask! I'm pretty open! Audra
