after I was approved thru insurance 1st visit was weigh in , talked with my surgeon he asked me what I was interested in as far as procedure I said the sleeve he said that would be great for me with taking alot of meds due to health issues we went over my chart of Dx's said when ya want to do this I said immediatly or ASAP he seen I had already had the endoscopy a yr and half ago by my internist which also practices in the same hospital, already had xrays , had 2 stress tests already over 2 yrs all's I needed was to meet with the NUT, the psych and do my 4 preop classes and be released from my endocrinologist over my thyroid disease, they won't approve surgery unless thyroid is in normal function so I was already put on thyroid med and it already made a difference within 2 months.this is the time to ask all questions and concerns ,time you need him to excuse for being off work, and believe me the benefits outweigh the risks! I had no supervised months of dieting required I was start to finish 3 months. on my last preop surgeon visit I was within 2 wks of date then I started my 2 wks of 2 shakes and 1 reasonable meal a day then my 48 hrs before surgery was strictly 3 shakes a day to help shrink my liver as much as possible. I didn't want him to have to cut me open to do this. it all worked out! I really like my surgeon he also to this day is my pain management dr for my other issues. (pain not due to surgery) best wishes...

March 31, 2015 - Tuesday Reality Check -- It's important to not undermine your commitment to weight loss by telling yourself, “Maybe I don’t really need/want to lose weight,” or “Maybe I don’t actually have to do these things.” If you do, you will have a much, much harder time getting yourself to just do what you need to do. when I got to the root of my emotional eating I realized I had to "change" my internal dialogue and negative habit. it took yrs of phsychotherapy for me then I had the light bulb moment! everything made sense to me and I fought back and never stopped. I was determined to make this work and its taken yrs of seeking professional help along with me doing MY part and I am on cloud 9!!

Well, after a long month, my weight finally budged and I lost over 5 pounds in a week. The plateau was weird, as I continued to see my arms and stomach shrink, but with this sudden loss in weight, my belly has really flattened. Must be water. At month 4, my appetite has continued to decrease, but I'm feeling great. I actually went out in just jeans and a T-shirt yesterday -- the first time ever without a shirt to cover up my butt -- and it felt great!

I'm thinking of backing out of surgery. On Day 5 preop. Have lost 32 pounds on my own in less than 2 months. Twelve more pounds and I don't even qualify. Maybe I don't need the sleeve. My husband and I are both retired now. We can go to the gym daily ,cook what I need. Help!
