  1. I think it is a rude question also, goes right along with how much money do you make. I would kind of giggle and say, not even my husband knows because he doesn't. I don't tell anyone my weight. I am getting better at saying to people, that is personal business. I get so sick of nosey co workers, asking me things about reviews etc. I say it in a joking matter, like well it said confidential on the folder.
  2. I forgot to ask when I made my appt. today. Do I need to fast before fill?? If not, how soon before fill can I eat??
  3. I am really worried I have become lactose intolerant, even if temporarily. Had a shake last night and had terrible grumbling and diarreah, was miserable for awhile. Had one today just to see if it was gonna be a problem again and same thing. I will ask about it tommorrow at postop check up.
  4. Can't remember where I read it and I did a search but I remember reading that sometime people can become lactose intolerant after LB surgery. Anyone experience this?? I
  5. Has protien shakes become a staple of most people diet after banding? The carb solutions one gives me so much gas, are they all that bad?? DIdn't care for the Atkins shakes.
  6. Banded on Wed. Sept. 7th. Surgery went good, recovery is going good, went back to work today, not much pain. My question is is it normal to have a stomache ache, not a bad one just a dull stomache ache alot of the time, kinda comes and goes, been real bad since I got off work about 4 hours ago. Also, I see people talking about having protien shakes the first few weeks of the liquid diet, is this normal? I have not been told to drink any protien shakes the first week, I suppose I can the second week because that will be full liquids. Also seem to be quite hungry, I think I am really missing the taste of food and not actually hungry.
  7. I am 4 days post op and I am starving!! All I can have is broth, sfjello, sfpopsickles and juice. I swear I need something more substantial.
  8. Thank you, I know deep down in my heart I am doing the right thing. I just got a call and surgery has been moved up to 9:30!
  9. I am having surgery tommorrow and I am scared also. Not about the surgery, but about whether I am doing the right thing or not. I always cry alot while I am in the waiting area before surgery. Sometime they give me a "cocktail" to calm me down. After that they can do anything they want to me, lol.
  10. Finally my waiting is over. Tommorrow I will be in bandland!! I am starting to get really nervous and the liquid diet is killing me. I went in last Thurs. for consult with surgeon and he said, I have next Wed. open, I was like sure. I got off easy on the liquid diet, should of been 10 days but only had to do it for 5. I sure hope I am doing the right thing, I keep second guessing my decision. Please tell me I am doing the right thing.
  11. I am in the waiting process too and it is killing me!! I wanted my band yesterday!! I am thinking I will have my surgery in Sept. sometime. I figure it is better to wait anyway cause the kids will be back in school by then.
  12. The fasting part before surgery is the scariest part for me. I dont know if I can do 10 days of liquids. I am going to ask for appetite suppresents.
  13. People always assume because I am fat that my husband is too. Thier jaws drop when they hear he is underweight, lol.
  14. I was thinking of doing this for my family when I have my surgery. Could you tell me what kind of meals you made and froze?
