  1. My self-pay fills were free for the first 6 in the first year. Now if I need one, it is only $60.00. Have not needed one for just over a year now, so that price may have gone up.
  2. Name, real or screen~ Holleyhobby Age~45 Weight on January 31st~202 Goal Weight for February 28th~ 190 Exercise Goal for February~ get to gym 4 times a week Dietary Goal for February~ stop eating "slider" food because it does not hurt Personal Goal for February~ get back in touch with my band and stop ignoring it Date Banded~ 01-24-2008 Total Weight Loss Since Banding~ originally 90...regain of 40
  3. Started the 5-day pouch test today myself. I stocked up on protein drinks and various soups. The "lumpy" ones I plan on pureeing and I tried to choose ones that were not too high in carbs which consisted of reading just about EVERY can the store had. I also would like some suggestions that might be floating around for both the liquid stage and the "soft" days (3-5).
  4. I think I need to have a talk with my husband tonight> GREAT IDEA on your hubbys part!
  5. Came back to this site to get back on track! Regained 40 of the 85 I lost and feeling like a horrible failure. So I am back. I have not seen my doctor for over a year now and feel embarassed to call her. I know I have restriction, just have learned to "eat around" the band (drinking too). My plan of attack is to start listening to my body and just starting over. I know it is not going to be as easy as it was in the beginning, but am ready to start the journey again. Thank you all for the posts..it is reasuring to find that I am not alone in this situation.
  6. I also need to get re-motivated! I had to have a complete un-fill in June and have been going in for regular fills since but CAN NOT get my groove back. Getting very dicouraged again since I am gaining instead of losing. I know what i need to do but just keep slipping back to very bad habits. I am going back to the basics and starting over! Today is a new day! The sun is up the scale is down! I pulled out all my Lap Band infromation and going to re- read it and begin a new TODAY! So I too am gonna be watching for any and all advise given here.
  7. The first fill I got was with the lidocaine. Lucy me..I was allergic to it so the after effects were long lasting. No more lidocaine for me but no pain with the small prick either.
  8. I am having all the same symptoms. First I had a cold and coughed forever and now allergies are so bad the drainage kkeps my band stopped. I fianally caved in and called my doctor. I go today and scared that she will have bad news. But I know now that I should have not waited this long (aprox 3 months). Amazing what excuses we will tell ourselves about the coughing at night and not eating solids. Wish me luck that all I have is a tight band and only a little will need to come out and not all of it.
  9. I never like belts before. I acutally had to go get one!! Congrats to all of us with new belts. PS: ticker is wrong

  11. You must be reading my mind! I have spent the past 3 weeks trying to figure out it this is too tight or the elusive "sweet spot". EVERYTHING with the smallest lumps cause me pain, sliming and ultimately I will have to PB. Today was the last straw and I called my doctor. I just want to eat a healthy meal without pain. I don't think that is too much to ask. I have been living on thin soups and protein drinks so at least I can get in my proteins. So it is off to the doc for a tiny unfill for relief. Thank you for the post! ( I have read EVERY post on this subject)
  12. I have tried WW in the past and have always had good luck with it. Have been thinking about going back to it after the 5 day pouch test.
  13. 2 month plateau for me! I am getting extremely frustrated and discouraged. Made am appoitment for a fill next week and just started the 5 day pouch test. I went over EVERY single thing in my food diary and DID find too many calories in stupid places (coffee creamer = 160/day!) and have sice cut those out. Oh Yeah...back to the gym for me!!! I WILL BREAK THIS PLATEAU!!
  14. I was going to post this EXACT question!! Since my 3rd fill, I can not eat solids without extreme pressure in the middle of my chest and then it is off to the restroom. I thought it might be caused because I never had decent restriction till now. But I am going to call my doctor today for that slight unfill. Liquids are no problem but anything solid causes too much discomfort and this discomfort lasts for several hours AFTER the episode. It has been a very long week so off to the doctor it is.
  15. During my surgery the first Alergan band did not snap. The surgeon had to use a second band that WOULD "snap on". All in all, I was under for about and extra hour and have had no problems since. Hope everything goes great for you this second time around.
  16. I did it 2 weeks bakc and it really got me back on track and helped alot. Try it, it can't hurt and just might do it for you.
  17. Here is my day... B - Atkins vanilla shake & 1/2 hard boiled egg L - 4oz venison taco meat w/ lettuce S- Low fat yogurt D - 4oz pork loin & aspargus Have a good one!
  18. The Easter Bunny came and I fell off the Low Carb Wagon! (I had warned the bunny NOT to come to my house but the DH allowed him in and he brought evil evil chocolate) Back on plan today!!
  19. I had surgery at 8 in the morning. Had to be there at 7 and was home by noon.
  20. My guys think it is funny. They keep saying "wow, mom actually does burp". I never had this problem before banding. Keep laughing boys, just keep laughing.
  21. I had my fill 2 weeks ago and lost my way on this winding road of weight loss too. I had a long talk with myself and went back to basics. I have not lost anything in the 2 weeks since that fill and can eat anything! I went back to liquids for 2 days, mushie proteins for 2 days and then weigh, measure and log everything. I have anouther fill scheduled in 2 weeks so I KNOW I can do this. Decent restriction is coming soon and until then....... WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!
  22. I am 11 days post op and jsut started the mushie stage. I never thought cottage cheese and refried beans would taste sooooo good! I am trying to keep it to 1/4 to 1/2 cup but I too am starving. Found sugar free fudge pops great to take the edge off the sweet tooth. Actually had to ask my hubby if the pictures of my band were actually IN me and not some one else. Hope the healing inside is coming along as good as the outside.
  23. I mix the Vanilla with a little peanut buterr and skim milk. It is actually not that bad. Even the kiddo will drink it.
  24. I was also banded on the twenty fourth. I just don't feel hungry or thirsty. I have to constantly remind myself to sip the water that is just inches from me. I go back to work tomorrow and am worried that I won't dring anything since I will no longer be a couch potatoe.
