  1. YEE HAH!! I got the surgery date!! I was able to get the date I wanted (have to plan, plan, plan). My new birthday is January 24. :whoo:I can hardly wait! This happens to be my daughters 17th birthday and she is not too happy that I won't be celebrating with her. You know...cake, dinner out and more cake. I told her no cake at the house but she can still go out to dinner with her friends and they can get cake at the resturant. But she is happy that I am getting it done. I am starting the pre-op this week, just to see how it is. My pre-op diet is not too bad. High Protein (70-100 grams) and low carbs (30 gram). It is really interesting to see how many carbs are actually in ALL the foods we eat, the good stuff too! Just had to share the great new!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
  2. I also will be using Southwest Bariatric here in Austin. I met with Dr. Nancy Marquez and thought she was great. She took her time at the consultation and answered every one of my questions. I am self pay and was quoted $15000.00 for the surgery which includes 1 year of post op and fills. I go to meet the dietitian and have labs tomarrow. Then its time for pre-op. Every thing is on track for surgery in mid January. :whoo:
  3. I had my pdych eval yesterday. I was emailed a 14 page question packet that asked just about everything. From my familys weight issues to eating patterns. At the face to face with the doctor, he went over the packet with me. I was worried he would find some under lying issue in the way I answered his questions or the way I held together in his office. What if he finds me "crazy" or that I am under too much stress at work were my worries. But it was so easy!! and he was super nice. Now its on the the PCP.:cry I'm told I worry too much.
  4. Now that I have luked here for a few months, I think I can start a thread. Things are now moving FAST! Almost at fan alarming speed. My loan came thru (I am privat pay), all my pre pre-op appointments are scheduled for this week (psych eval, PCP and nutritionist). I should be meeting with the surgeon next week for the actual pre-op appt. With things moving this quickly and smoothly, I hope to be banded in mid to late January. YEE HAH!! I wanted to meet with the nutrionist early. I want to get aquainted with a new approch to food. My hubby is on board with all of it but I am not sure if he REALLY knows how much this is going to change the way I look at food. The new me starts in just a few weeks and I can't believe this is gonna happen!!! :whoo:
  5. I had my consultation last week and it went terrific! I don't have any co-mortalities (yet) so was told I could get banded within the next 30 days if I wanted. I just have to get financing in order since I am self pay. I can get my labs, dietitain and preop done all in the same week, then 2 week pre-op diet and I will be ready to go! Hoping to get banded in late January. I wanted to be banded in late December but the hubby remided me that I have a few commitments that do not fit into a pre-op or soon after post-op way of life. My hoops are getting smaller!!
  6. I am going to my first consult today and boy do I have questions! This site has given me a ton of information to go in with and was wondering if there is one specific question I should ask?? Thank you.:cry
  7. I am new to this site. I have my consultation next week and hope to be banded in January. My question is..the other day I saw a list of "to-do" before surgery and a list of what to have on hand. Now I can't find the list! Would someone point me in the right direction. Thank you!!
