  1. Great job everyone! I passed my 1 year on Oct 15th. I do wish I has lost more my first year, but am proud of how far I have come. I am definitely still dealing with the mental side of all this. I see the difference in pictures and in clothing sizes, but feel like I look the same when I'm looking in the mirror. Its crazy! I also am still trying to figure out what gives me those boosts where I drop significantly in a week. I can't figure it out. There are weeks when I feel like I snack poorly and won't exercise as much and I'll drop 5 pounds. Other weeks, I'll gain a couple. I just keep trying to do what I can. Here is to our 2nd year journey!

    You look phenomenal!!!!

  2. @@Whitney1968 I went through the same feeling. Depressed and wondering what did I do to myself! What I can tell you is that this feeling will pass. It's part of the process. I couldn't figure it out before because no one around me at the time had this surgery. Everything that was of comfort to me was no longer an option and I didn't cope well with that feeling. I look back now 10 months later and say wow!!! I'm so happy for this surgery!!post-221249-14409175670037_thumb.jpg

  3. I am in Slidell, La. I was sleeved originally on 8-19-15 and had to be resleeved on 8-24-15 due to complications. My doctor is Dr. Michael Thomas. Dr. Matthew French performed my 2nd surgery since Dr. Thomas was out of town.

I wish they would have an in person support group so we can meet, share experiences, recipes and CLOTHES (since we will not be in ant size for too long)!!!!

I'm glad I found this forum and hope to make some friends out of this since we all share something in common.

Hi I was also sleeved by Doctor Michael Thomas in October if last year. So far I haven't had any complications and I'm almost 100 pounds down. If you don't mind me asking what type if complications did you have that required you to be reserved?

  4. Hey all! I was sleeved on 3/30/15. Pre-surgery I weighed in at 288, home scale this morning said 279. No nausea, minor cramping, the BLUES in excess, itchy sutures, but that's about it. I'm finally tracking my Water and Protein via MyFitnessPal. I just bought a "Jawbone UP" to help me kick my fitness up a notch. So I'm getting it together!

Please feel free to add me on MFP Lovelytrl

  5. Oh, thank you for replying. I would love to hear about your experience. I think my biggest fear right now is what surgery will they choose. The sleeve would definitely be my first choice. How long did it take after your second screening visit to know you were approved and actually have the surgery.

My second screening was in July and I found out in September what surgery and I had my surgery in October.

  6. I am on day 3 of the liquid diet in pre-op. I too am struggling emotionally. It really is not the hunger, I feel like I have lost my best friend. I really just don't know what to do with myself. Feeling anxious.

Do your best if you need to bake the powder just so you can chew do that. The key is they want to know if you can tolerate a low calorie diet. I lost 14 pounds and they only wanted me to loose 8 it was hard emotionally hard but just know it's for a higher purpose.

  7. Hi Guys! So, I decided to come back and get some support/advice from you guys. I am getting a little down on myself because I have not hit the wonderful "Wonderland". I have gotten bored with the diet and have stopped working out as much. I know this is setting me back and I need to get over it. I just need a push or motivation or something. Is anyone else feeling like this?

. I too decided to get back on for support. I am snacking more than I want to admit. I think I am going to start tracking on MFP and decrease my carbs. This has been the most amazing thing to happen and I can't ruin it!!!
Friejenn please add me on MFP Lovelytrl

I'm not sure if tis makes sense but I did lye down a lot during recovery. It will pass in time I am going into my 6th week and only experience dizziness once I returned to work last week.
