    Hello Sleevers!!!
My name is Mike. I was sleeved on 6/10/14. Currently down about 21 since surgery. Finally getting my energy back!!!
I was always told NOT to weigh yourself everyday, as the body fluctuates quite a bit especially in the early stages after surgery. However, I just can't help myself from stepping on every morning LOL. I experienced a stall in my second week, but reassured myself it would pass (which it did). So this AM I weighed myself and I was up 1.8 from yesterday. I am not concerned, but just curious to see if other people have experienced this fluctuation and if anyone else shares this similar addiction . Please feel free to add me as a friend I am looking for newbies and experienced members!!!!
    Thanks so much!
    Mike

Me too! It's not just on the incision sites. It seems like when it comes on, I feel it all over my belly. It's terrible!

Yes, itching is normal. Its a side effect of the healing process within your body. You might notice the same thing if you trip and scrape your knee. Where the skin knits itself back together from the cells working over time to repair, you get the itchies. I always felt it helped to scratch near the offending area but not directly on the area so as not to redamage it!

in case I didn't reply I know what you mean, I had almost an allergic puffiness around each one I thought I was losing my mind! Nothing helped too much except time, 3 days, but at the end I bought Benedryl Spray and it did help a little btw

Mine were glued and they drove me bonkers!! I found keeping them well moisturized several times a day helped a lot with the itching. Even 9 weeks out I have days where they still itch but I think that's probably more internal healing now.

I'm eight weeks out and mine itch all day every day. It's driving me up a wall lol. All my stitches have come off or fallen out at this point so it must be internal healing, which is probably why no matter how hard I itch.. I just can't seem to get to the source lol. I'll take a little itchiness as long as I keep loosing this weight though

Hi all - Just thought I would share my 9 month post op pics. I've lost 126 pounds so far with about 8 to go until goal. While the weight is still coming off, one of the most significant things I've started to do this month is begin to work through the emotional and compulsive eating issues that got me to nearly 300 pounds to begin with. It's been a really emotional month, but I am feeling really good about keeping the weight off long term because I am starting to deal with the core issues rather than the symptoms.
Anyway, here are my most recent pics.

I am having the same problem. Some of my steristrips have started to fall off, but the big incisions still have them. It also tends to come and go. What I found helps, because I am unsure whether I am allowed to put anything on it is to ice it for a little while. You might want to give that a try, but don't ice for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Tears reading this!!! Wow!!!! You look fantastic. What an inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing. You give me hope. I had gastric sleeve surgery and have been on liquids for a week, got on my scale this morning and gained 5 pounds!! I was told that happens from others on this wonderful site. Congrats on getting your life back!!!

Gas and pain. It also gets the acids working to break down your food which is not there......

It puts air inside your sleeve which will cause gas.
This is also true for gastric bypass patients too.
This is what I was told by my nutritionist and surgeon.

I was sleeved June 9th as well and have not had any diarrhea in fact BM's are few and far between. I think that if you are having diarrhea you need to be even extra careful not to become even more dehydrated. Try and increase your Fluid intake. I still have gas pain even after walking so I think that is just going to be the case for a while.

    What are you eating?
I had my sleeve on June 2, and on June 12 was given the go-ahead to start limited soft foods; everything seems to be good, but both Protein drinks I tried went immediately through me.
I was on liquids after surgery, is that what you are on?

liquid in, liquid out? Try looking at the ingredients of your Protein as well, it may have something that doesn't agree with you.

Tomorrow I am one week post op. Ironically, I started my period the day before surgery too! It's not so bad. I couldn't and didn't sleep the night before either. You will be alright! I am 6 days out and feel good. I drove for the first time today. My mom has been here taking care of me. I wish you all the best my friend! I am very hopeful of my future. See u on the other side....
