August 2014 Come on Down!
Hard to believe it's been over a year! Sounds like you've sure had some added challenges along the way. Glad to see you're doing well. You'll get there!! My highest weight was 265. When I started the program in 2014 I was 224. I dropped just below 200 the day of surgery. I made goal of138 the end of July 2015. I maintain between 131-134. (I creep up I buckle down again, lol). I'm having plastics early December. (Insurance will cover the panni, yay!).

IUDs
I called it getting HBO installed , lol. I had to take a pill to relax the cervix prior to the appt. Guess that worked because the "installation" wasn't too awful. Not pleasant, but bearable. It was over quickly. I'm not sharing this to turn off anyone from getting one...but the problem I had came afterwards. I don't know how I drove home. By the time I got to my car cramping had just started. It got worse as I drove home. It was really terrible! I spent the afternoon curled up in a ball in misery. Been fine since. It's done its job. But the few hours after the procedure were very unpleasant for me.

The 6 month stall?
Stalls are part of it, in my experience at least - I lost in steps. But you sound like you've answered the question. Get yourself moving/exercising more and back on track. Back to basics - Protein first, tracking food, Water water water...you know how it goes, lol. I bet that will get the scale moving in the right direction again :-) If I look back at the year it took me, the weight loss was pretty consistent. It didn't stop at 6 months, but it was work! You've done an awesome job!! Keep it going :-)

mini binge - anyone else?
I think as long as you are winning the battle 99% of the time you'll be fine. That's my approach any way. We're not perfect...I know I'm not! ????

Got milk?
I just switched to Fairlife myself. My supermarket just started carrying it. It's great!!

Resistance work with a bad shoulder?
About 6 weeks ago on a whim I got a Bodygym from QVC. I never buy anything from there...just figured it was worth a try. Best thing ever. I'm not kidding. I use every day. My muscles have muscles, lol. Noticed a big difference in three weeks. I'm in New England so I wanted something to keep me going when the snow piles up. (Besides shoveling of course). I hate going to the gym, but I know I will. But I'd rather use that time on the treadmill for cardio when I have to move my exercise in doors. I'm 53 by the way. Have had two shoulder surgeries myself. No issues.

Am i kidding myself?
I was sleeved at 52 (two months shy of (52). Turned 53 yesterday. Best I've felt in 30 years. Yes, it's not unreasonable to think you'll feel waaay better!

When can I golf?
I golf, and honestly couldn't imagine swinging a club at full force/speed/rotation at 2 weeks post op. Maybe physically you wouldn't do any damage...(I question that)...but take it easy. You use your core a lot to golf. You are still healing. For example, if your doc said no heaving lifting for 6 weeks, I'd put it in that category. Just my opinion :-) Hit'em straight!!

Poll for those at least 6 months PostOp

Noises from stomach? LOUD?
Mine is still noisy at times. If it's while I'm talking with someone and they notice it, I just shush it, apologize, maybe laugh, and carry on. It's no big deal.

Has anyone had cereal?
I've snacked on some dry cereal occasionally. Also added <1/4 cup to some yogurt, just to have some crunch. But it's really a very infrequent thing. A very conscious decision to have the extra carbs. I don't think carbs are evil. I just think too many are, especially if they make me feel bad. Can't imagine having a bowl of cereal with milk! How things have changed

August post op sleevers: Check in
I thought I'd post another update. There's been some big challenges this past week. My husband had stroke #2 (the first was May 2014). He's doing ok. We hope and pray he recovers 100% again. But boy, it sure makes you realize how important your health is. Our son is in the military (Air Force). As a matter of fact, he was deployed the day of my surgery. I remember how upset I was that I didn't get to say good bye to him because I was unconscious when my husband got his call, lol. Because of health issues with his wife, his leave has been eaten up with her relocation to his current base and treatments. Haven't seen him since their wedding in June 2015. He was so shook up from his Dad's second stroke, he took emergency leave and together they came home. We were over joyed to see them, even though it was only for a long weekend. The look on his face when he saw me at the airport was priceless. I caught a glimpse of it through the tears The last time he saw me in person, and now... Having my husband be OK, and my family here these last few days - I am truly blessed.

How do you keep your protein shakes cold while sipping on them ?
I use a Tervis tumbler. Top rack safe. But real easy to quickly hand wash too.

Did your energy improve?
The change in energy has been amazing. It wasn't right away for me. I was 51 at the time of surgery. The first few months I felt a little tired. I'm sure I was adjusting and still healing. Then slowly that all changed. Can't say exactly when. It's not like someone flipped a switch. But I can say at over a year out and now almost 53, I feel like I'm in my 20's. Best. Thing. Ever.

Loose tummy skin
Guess I'm old school, lol. "Dating" was all about getting to know each other, way before the intimate stuff. So he'd know about your insecurity(ies). Man I'm old !! ???? But I agree - any man worthy of you, it won't matter.

Sooooooooo....
I went from a 44C to a 34C. Let's just say I now have a Vickie's VIP card now ???? I'd buy one or two, really snug, and wear them as long as I could.

Quest Bars - Soluble Corn Fiber
I'm not sure. I've been eating them for over a year. This has been a recent problem.

Quest Bars - Soluble Corn Fiber
Oh my...I love my Quest bars. They do satisfy my sweet tooth. But like you, in the past month or so I almost can't be in the same room with myself. Please don't be from my Quest bars!!! Guess I'll stop having them for a bit to see if things improve. Sigh.

My love for Starbucks!
I still hit Starbucks once in a while. Not as much as I used to. I just try to be smart about it. Usually have an iced coffee...those cold brews are great. The skinny vanilla lattes are yum, and have a good amount of Protein too. I just stay away from the high calorie, sugary stuff. Just like any place else.

What’s Your Worst Post-Op Memory (or Fear)?
My worst post-op memory was bad nausea. I was sick for at least 24 hours. They kept trying different meds to stop it. Either what was causing it (the anesthesia) worked its way through my system or they finally found the right anti-nausea med. I don't know. But I was finally ok some time on day 2. It earned me a second nights stay. I had no gas pains, unless they were there while I was miserable and throwing up...I didn't notice Honestly, if it weren't for the reaction to the anesthesia it would have been a walk in the park. I then had some bad stomach pains the first week. Diagnosed with acid reflux. That's been the only "complication" from my surgery. I'll take it. Considering I lived on Tums prior...I probably had it all along. Eating, drinking, meeting my Fluid and Protein requirements - these were never an issue.
