    Calcium chews...

I found a liquid calcium citrate in the natural foods section of my grocery store. It's about a tablespoon a day and it's not bad - so much better than the chewable for me. Good luck!

    Am I making a mistake?

Doubt is part of the process but like the others said - it's the results that keep you going when it gets tough. My preop diet was 10 days of liquid - I was thinking "what in the world am I doing?" But, now I'm 7 months post op and 10lbs from my desired weight and it blows my mind sometimes to look in the mirror. One day at a time. Best of luck!

Any tips on nursing an irritated band?

It could be acid. I've had a lot of those troubles and getting on a daily anti acid has helped me stay with the tight band without getting too tight from irritation. My doctor prescribes nexium in an oral suspension powder you mix with water so you can get it down even when the band is irritated. Good luck!

Any tips on nursing an irritated band?

When I get like that it tends to be an acid problem - I take nexium that my doctor/ surgeon prescribes in an oral suspension form but any anti acid might make a difference for you.

    Starting Over

I've had my band for 7 months now - my diet is 60 grams of protein a day (which I get from shakes) and 3 - 1 ounce meals. I don't count calories at all. I don't eat potatoes bread milk pasta rice...etc. I have a very strict program but it's been very successful. Hope this helps!

    Who eats McDonalds post op?

I'm seven months post op and I cannot believe that anyone who has a band can eat pizza or a cheeseburger at all! Wow! My mind is blown!

My hair is falling out! Help!

I've had a lot of hair loss too but I've been using Nioxin products for about two months and I've seen some improvement! Good luck!

2 fills and I think I can still eat too much

Hello there. I got my band December 2013. I have a very strict doctor and it sounds like you are eating way more than I was instructed to. After my liquid diet ended (4 weeks post op) my doctor recommends 2 protein shakes a day and 3 - 1 ounce meals (the size of a shot glass). My diet is also no bread no pasta no rice no milk no potatoes. Like I said its super strict but I have seen results month after month! Good luck in everything!
  11. I love everyone's responses on here! I am new to this site and I love reading what other people have gone through. I think that "what do you miss the most?" Is the most common question people ask me - they can't grasp how I just completely go without certain things. I'm with you guys....I don't miss it when I look at my health and life now versus before the surgery! Not saying that I don't crave things sometimes and I do have dreams about certain carb heavy foods!!! But, I'm so much happier without them.

    Anyone from Tri Cities WA

Brooke, I got my band in December 2013 so I am just about 6 months in. I would love to meet someone else who has a band - I know no one else. I'm in Tri-Cities. It's been a while since your post- how's it going?
