  1. I go to see the doctor today - I'll see if I've lost - my daughter swears I have. I did a Protein (real food) diet pre op (to shrink the liver) and I lost 10 lbs without really trying anything other than that (it really suprised me). Then of course the three days pre op I did liquids with Liquid Protein. You need to give your body something to eat so it doesn't think your starving and slow the metabolism down - that would be my only suggestion. I'm no expert, so take it for what it's worth.
  2. I didn't get a lap band card - where does this card come from?
  3. Those sound sooooo gooood. I see the doc tomorrow and hope to graduate to protein - I'll also update my weight - my scale only goes to 160 so I have no idea how much I've lost - my daughter thinks I have - and I feel it in places.
  4. Thanks - my doc said none, but I had this non fat milk fudgcycle - and it tasted sooooo good. It was a day I was having such a hard time getting things down, and that treat just made all the difference in the world for me.
  5. do you know why there is no milk post op - has anyone had any?
  6. Yep it is getting better, going to try and go without pain medication today - I don't want to slow down my insides too much - give them a chance to recouperate. The Gas X is helping. Luckily I'm not to hungry, but food does look really good, and I can't really watch people eat easily. Had to fix fences this morning. The horses got spooked in the paddock and kicked down the fences - I had to fix this morning (just an easy fix - not perfect but my husband is on vacation with a couple of the kids for a week so I have to deal with it as best I can while he's gone.
  7. Well, I bought a couple Breyers popsicles - only 5 carbs and 25 calories - and they were awesome. I found it was funner to get my liquid in the form of Jellow and popsicles than just sipping. I also (shame on me) bought those 'skinny cow' fudgecicles. They are 100 calories and 10 carbs plus a few Proteins. I'm not really supposed to have milk - so I wavered - and I won't do it much - but I did it once today. I'm doing better today. I mowed my front yard - which is about an acre. Sometimes it was tough, but I got through it. Took a little walk, and took my daughter grocery shopping. My husband and girls are gone so it's really quiet at home. I'm loving it, watching movies, internet and reading in my spare time. Plus a little light housekeeping and watching the animals. Today is a good day - I'm not too hungry for food, but I'm beginning to worry that I will begin to get cravings. I don't know what I'll do about making my family dinner. Perhaps 'Dream Dinners' will help. I think I'll go there instead of doing a big grocery trip. Get a few meals, and then some stuff the kids can use for Breakfast and lunch. What did you guys do about food preparation?
  8. I'll give the warm stuff a go. I've been doing better of course, but I can tell I'm not getting enough. I notice my taste buds have suddenly soured on v8 juice - I love that stuff. I pretty much don't enjoy most of what I'm drinking (even the water). I'm not sure what's up with that - but I assume that will pass as well. They wanted me to take some phosphorus before I went home (hardest thing ever). It reminded me so much of go-lytely. Two Dixie Cups full - had to hold the nose and everything. I'm usually not such a baby - but boy - the taste thing has got to go!
  9. How much did your physicians want you to walk post op? I don't think I had a specific amount but it might be helpful to have sort of a guidline.
  10. My doctor doesn't want me to take ibuprofen - but I've gotten about 8 oz of liquid and 6 oz of juice down so I'm doing ok today (better than I thought I would). What is your regimen like now Wendy - all the doctors seem slightly different - so it's interesting to hear.
  11. I can barely sip Water I feel so restricted. food smells good but I'm not even tempted. I've only had a bit of diet juice and water. I don't think I've gotten down 16 oz since I've been home - almost 24 hours. I hope this isn't a bad thing - please someone tell me this is normal and that I will feel better.
  12. i have never been so happy to fart in all my life. So far no shoulder pain, but the muscle pain is pretty harsh. I've cut a medication I usually take into 1/4th's but I was still worried it would block me so I only took half of it. When I had it crushed I threw it up - so that's not an option - but it must be taken. Perhaps I'll work on it throughout the day. I think I'm starting to get an idea of the feeling of fullness that people talked about. Knowing when to stop, knowing when they are full. But I'm not there yet, It seems like it only takes a sip of Water - and I'm just over the top - I'm full. Is that normal? A friend had this surgery and she said she had no restriction - how is that possible - is all this restriction just swelling that will abate with time?
  13. Me - liquids for one week. Second week add Proteins and Vitamins. 4th week mushy foods, and then after that real food. I have my magic bullet all ready to begin. I am looking down at my stomach and it is so massively bloated with gas!
  14. Anything that increases gastric motility, will help expell the gas. Walking and fluids, plus something like Gas X. Still after doing all these things, I'm still bloated. I think it must be just par for the course. Narcotics slow down gastric motility - but I need those, so I think I'll just have to deal with it for awhile. My doc sais liquids for a month - what about yours?
  15. I was banded on the 30th as well. I'm gassy too. Had a hard time burping, and I feel really full. I did get some Gas X and as tasteles as it sounds - I was thrilled when I farted - at least some was going out the other direction. I'm starting to bloat, and I cannot even imagine getting down the quanities of Clear liquids that I am supposed to. I guess I didn't anticipate feeling so cruddy.
  16. Banded June 30th. I'm worried I'm not going to be able to get all the liquid in, I feel rather full and nauseated. I'm supposed to be on liquids for a month. Right now it seems doable because I'm not hungry in the least. Do Isotnix Vitamins taste like golytely? I'm scared when I take them they will - anyone know?
