  1. This is so interesting. I'm headed for my post-op visit with the surgeon. I look forward to kicking this hypertension! Thanks.
  2. Hmmmm. So maybe that why my blood pressure is out of control? It was normal before the surgery, the medication was working well.
  3. Really? So the waiting rule doesn't apply yet?
  4. Is it possible that my body now thinks that every pill is an entire bottle? I wonder if my new plumbing amplifies every medication because of the different acids. I ask because I wonder if the 1/2 tbs of coffee that I add to my almond milk can be making my body think it's drinking a whole pot (and dehydrating me). Just wondering.
  5. I have been setting my timer to stop drinking before 'meals'. I have some blended Soup that i have been working on for the past hour. This means that for the four ounces of eventual intake, I will be off of my drinking for about 2-4 hours. In this heat, is it wise to eat, or wiser to just keep drinking? I'm 6 days post-op
  6. I figured I'd try Tylenol yesterday... and landed in the ER. I don't know what's going on.
  7. day 6, still having obscene pains on the left-most spot. Otherwise, there is almost no pains left, other than the usual discomforts. I'm averaging 4 lbs a day, so no complaints!
  8. I just want to hide in a yogurt corner...
  9. 6 days post-op, and my BP is climbing every day. yesterday it was 176/86. This morning, I feel like I will pass out. I don't understand this. Since starting my BP meds in November, my BP as stabilized in time for surgery. The minute I was done with the surgery, my body has exploded. I don't know what this means. The doctor's office is saying that it is my pain levels, because I am not taking anything for it. Honestly, I don't think I am feeling much pain! I feel uncomfortable, and that is normal. I thought the weight loss was going to solve this. I really don't know how to proceed.
  10. Sorry about my euphoria, but it's day 5 and I can see past my tummy and see my weight! A definite milestone since puberty! I can't believe how pounds are just 'melting'. I went to sleep last night and woke up this morning weighing four pounds less. It seems like a giant lie,. Somebody pinch me. Um, actually, no, I'm still sore :-)
  11. I run a secret group for autism professionals. Invitations must be sent to the facebook-email. I would only join if it was secret.
  12. No! No! No! (I'm having a tantrum for you here in New York)
  13. Third time's the charm. I'm rooting for you! Never ever give up. We all arrive to our goal by stepping through giant mud puddles. Just find some cute new galoshes and stomp away!
  14. Somehow, watching my body cope with its new plumbing and still daring to form little poopies is making me feel like a mama watching her infant take its first steps! Shall we say, I am so beaming-proud of my guts?
  15. Since day 2, I've been having what google claims is "double breathing". Those are sudden random and involuntary giants breaths that children usually have after a long bout of sobbing. Google claims it can occur after crying, hyperventilating, or panic attacks. All I had was surgery! It is very uncomfortable, as I cannot prepare for them, and the pain is enormous. For a cough, I can grab a pillow. For these breaths, I can only wince and shudder. What the heck? I wonder if it's part of my 'mild' asthma?
  16. Day 4, and am euphoric that I had real food today with a real spoon!
  17. Day 4, and I got a 6 oz yogurt in over a span of nine hours. I'm elated to be back on food. I've been on Water for days! After the yogurt, I heated up 4 oz of a broth concoction that I cooked weeks ago in advance. I'm in heaven. This broth is chicken Soup from scratch, greek yogurt, mashed potato, and minced onions. mmmmmmmm
  18. I have no idea. That can't be good. Call the doctors?
  19. OMG Boots! I forgot to include them in my pre-op goals list! I'm drooling.
  20. The Doctor Who Gets It, chapter two
  21. Two miles at day 12?!!! I'm on day four, and am engaging in a large prayer mass just to get to the bathroom :-)
  22. @@Writerjennifer "tents covered in paisley" I'm 4 days post-op, it hurts to laugh so hard!!!!!
  23. That sounds yummy. How did you do it? Did you just sip until it all went down? I've been working on a yogurt for the past 7 hours. Every baby spoon (plus a ten minute walk) feels like I pigged out at the Dragon Buffet!
