New-surgery was 6/23

I am one week out from surgery and lost 15.8 lbs in the first week. I am still pretty sore especially where they had the drain tube. Activity at one week out is still minimal. Has anyone else experienced pain from the drain?? Get depressed I just want to feel better!

I also had surgery on the 23rd. I didn't have a drain, although I have had bad pain on the lower left side. It is finally starting to get better, I hope you feel better soon!

day 6, still having obscene pains on the left-most spot. Otherwise, there is almost no pains left, other than the usual discomforts. I'm averaging 4 lbs a day, so no complaints!

Glad to hear I am not alone, thanks for your comments!!

Hello, I had my RNY on the 24th and I did have a drain. I do not have any pain there but do have a lot of discomfort from the bruising on my lower abdomen when I try to lay down. My recliner has been my best friend. :)

Hi so I had RNY on 24th and am very sore on the left side. I was told that's the largest area where they go in and out with instruments so it will be sore also where they remove a piece of intestine and take out. I have developed on infection of some sort now to that area but have only needed pain medication once today. No drains o discharge however if this area I fluid filled I wish they would have left a drain. I have gone thru crying and wondering what did I do but know it will get better. Good luck and beat wishes.
