Sleeve For My Asperger Son?
The only disabling condition is the human one. Thank you for understanding. As stated earlier, my autism contributed to my success, making me an excellent candidate for the surgery. My extreme discipline (which stems from a need for routine) is neurological, and not swayed by emotion. A definite win-win.

The new me????????????
That smile is real! Well-deserved.

Food-Stamps supplies ideas
Wow, so it has to have the words 'Facts" on it rather than "information". Why, thank you so much! I will have to test that tomorrow first thing in the morning. I've been avoiding wal-mart because they stock their Protein products in the pharmacy section. Maybe you can find out exactly which Protein powder she was able to buy? That would be such a tremendous help for me. Thank you again!

Sleeve For My Asperger Son?
Not to incite anything here, but autism is not a condition. It is a different perspective on thoughts and information. Majority of autistics today have higher intellect than their peers, so let's look for the positive reasons why he can succeed on this surgery, rather than listen to psych's who may not understand the complex and intertwined reasons why autistics have narrow/unwise food choices.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!
June'ers, here's a treat. I decided to compose a RNY SERIES of music to symbolize my thoughts through my journey. The first one is "Anticipation", night before RNY. (you can actually hear the colon prep kicking in!) The second one is "Acclimation", ten days post-op (today). Hope you can 'feel it'. Listen here: Anticipation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYJzrTUpxmE and Acclimation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcZzhymybkA

Abdominal pain after bypass
I second that. If you cannot keep stuff done for more than a few hours, it's time for lifesaving fluids. ((hugs))

Food-Stamps supplies ideas
Ten days post-op. I got high compliments from the NUT and team at the surgeons office for filling my freezer with six weeks of high-Protein purees. I am proud to say that I have been able to get 60 grams of protein in ever day without protein shakes! I personally think that it is a huge achievement, and I'm quite proud. I wish I can afford the shakes, but I have to save my nickels for the Vitamins now.

RNY Series - Music Compositions
I'm a composer. I'm weird that way. That's how I cope. In the music that I composed through my RNY journey, you can hear some thoughts and emotions, I think. The first one is "Anticipation", night before (you can actually hear the colon prep kicking in!) The second one is "Acclimation", ten days post-op. Anyone else just as weird as me?

Burping, Farting, Pooping. OMG who am I?
I am mainly experienced 'highs' only. I am worried. I get hyperactive and super-excited from small milestones (like being cleared for full liquids). I was hyperactive after my first yogurt. My friends are tired of my euphoria for mundane stuff.

Burping, Farting, Pooping. OMG who am I?
@@music1618 Tell me please how long those lasted for you. I am frightened. I have been a physical mess my whole life. I am SO not looking forward to trading that for being an emotional mess. I want to give my social worker friends the heads up, so they can let me know when I'm being cranky. I doubt I'd be able to tell.

Can't sing yet!
Ahhh, I yearn for that. I'm motivated to keep hoping.

Can't sing yet!
I'm nine days out. My paranoia is intense, as some people posted about not having the same timbre and projection post-op. But I believe in the slow buildup. This morning, I spoke with a friend on the phone and got so winded after a few minutes, that I actually shut up and listened - a new milestone, LOL!

Best pureed foods
Day 9, and I'm loving them tacos! I cooked Beans with chicken and taco seasoning. 2 oz pureed plus 2 oz shredded cheese totals to a meal of 13grams of protein!

If it is subcutaneous and obvious, shouldn't it be debrided?

3 days out of surgery
Walk! Burp! Sip! (lol, I hear march music in my head). That was the reason why I have absolutely no gas pain or discomfort after surgery. The first four days, I had to set a timer to get me dancing. I set the timer for ten minute when I sipped. Then, I paced slowly until it rang again. By then, I had burped and moved enough to tolerate the next sip. It was worth the diligence.

Example of menus? Maybe it isn't a lot, you just think it is?

Post Surgery Accolades - tell me the good stuff!
Yesterday was day 8, first day on pureed. My BP was NORMAL for the first time since the surgery - a sure sign of solid recover.

Blogging for money
I have a heckuva story to tell, and was wondering if any of you here maintain WLS blogs and earn something considerable from posting recipes and affiliate links?

3 days out of surgery
Yes. I'm on day 9 and still burp after every sip. If you don't, you will experience real pain inside. So the burping is a good thing. In fact, I wove it into my sipping routine: Sip, walk, burp, sip, walk, burp....

Feels like hernia pain
The nurse at the office commented at my one-week post-op that I have been calling 'every day'...um, kind of, yeah. It was the hospital, then the discharge team, then the ER when I was re-admitted, then the visiting nurse, and then one day, me... so yes. I feel like I should wait for the openings to be less tender, so that someone poking around can better distinguish between my grimaces. How long until the left side pain dissolves completely (like when coughing, stretching, laughing) ?
