  1. LOL! Given my fascination with psycholinguistics, I am delighted to add Pouch as my eight language to learn. Yippee!
  2. OMG thanks for the laugh, that was so eloquently put.
  3. Wow, I'm feeling the love! It's gonna be a good day!
  4. Thank you so much, Wayne. So do you think that I am experiencing the 'full' feeling? I take miniature sips, half of a baby spoon at a time, and then walk for about 5 minutes before trying again. That's how I endured 18 oz in 24 hours. As a new day dawns on me, I wonder if I am doing this wrong. I've been working on 4 oz for the past four hours.
  5. I cramp when I am dehydrated
  6. My left side is where the doctor did the most work. It is agony. I have been clutching a pillow to my tummy since the surgery 4 days ago. It better let up because eventually I need to be able to move around and care for my needs! I tried an abdominal binder from the pharmacy today. It worked very well. I removed it after several hours.
  7. How would I know if I am dehydrated, or just reacting to the pain medication?
  8. 4 days post-op. I have no idea what these body messages are, so I don't know how to respond. Every tiny sip of liquid that I take makes me feel like I will explode. I walk it off, burp, and try again. Finally got 18 oz in today, but I have such strange sensations, anywhere from chest pains, to tightening, to "I think i will rupture" to old feelings of hunger pangs. I don't know if I should keep sipping or stop. Right now my mouth is so dry that I am frightened about dehydration. But I'm also frightened about over-pushing. I really don't know what I am feeling!
  9. Wow, you are both so kind! I will message you
  10. I wish I can laugh out loud, but I'm four days post-op. Thanks for the visual
  11. I have been on the SCD diet for ten years for crohn's before RNY (4 days ago). I was able to heal my colon only by strategizing on specific foods. If you need help getting on the http://www.scdiet.org/%C2'> please message me. It works in stages like post-op: broth, yogurt, etc. After four years, I was able to add potato, and then rice. I have never been able to tolerate raw veg and fruits, but have started o tolerate them peeled and cooked in moderation. You can do this! Don't fall into the trap of medication, because it masks the problem, and you then don't feel the need to heal it from the inside out.
  12. Torani is just over $3 at Wal-Mart - a very valuable product. I type this as I sip my morning fix :-)
  13. There was a tiny little circle sticker behind my ear. i found it yesterday and removed it. I had no idea about it. I never felt any nausea. Interesting.
  14. I will call the doctor's. I did buy one yesterday, and I slept through the night for the first time!
  15. I was asked if I had a BM. I said, yes, based on the fact that the 'stuff' came from the required place :-) It basically was just sediment in the toilet bowl
  16. Day 3 post-op, I just had a friend buy one and velcro it onto me. I look forward to crawling into bed with it and try and sleep.
  17. So week one begins not a week after surgery, but the eight day?
  18. It is my first day home post-op, and no painkillers at all. I noticed it as soon as I came to in recovery. It can also be residual narcotics in my bloodstream. At least I want to believe that.
  19. Since the surgery, I cannot see well. My eyes are so fatigued. I'm seeing blurry and double, cannot focus on anything. Please tell me it's the exhaustion only?
  20. It can be nerve pin from the hernia. It can also be sciatica
  21. When I move, I feel a swirling/swishing of my inside flying from right to left, and wobbling back. I swear it feels like my intestines/organs are swimming around. It is gross and so painful. Regarding # 2, I had a miracle yesterday before I was discharged. I felt the urge, and something (tmi) did splat its way out from the appropriate place :-) basically just a teaspoon of sediment on the bottom of the toilet.
  22. I am walking most of the time, so the gas is almost not an issue. The problem I have is he flying abdomen, feels like it will rip apart in any position that I attempt. So I haven't slept in forever, and still can't work up the courage to cough.
  23. I'm in a rural village in the middle of nowhere, seeking Skype support. I am 3 days post op. I'm 36, female, post-RNY, and live alone with no support. Thank you.
  24. That's it. I just wanted to say that
  25. the pharmacy sells abdominal binders. I am craving that so badly right now!
