  1. No complications, but I tend to be a miserable grouch after procedures. I worry that the left-side pain is a hernia. Since starting on purees, my blood pressure is finally normal, and I'm beginning to get back some energy every day. I am walking a bit straighter every day too.
  2. I am flying on 8/8 from NY to California (LA then SF). I will be six weeks post-op and expect to be down to a size 16 at least. I plan to leave my hanging 2x/18 clothes there and leave with a new wardrobe from the thrift shoppe. If anyone has or needs any of these sizes, then let us meet up! What is particularly annoying is the nightwear/comfy clothes/bra expenses every few weeks!
  3. I'd pay for shipping size 16 to New York. You can stuff a USPS pre-paid box.
  4. Anyone else out there in this vast forum... that is having difficulty with pureed texture? I'm literally in agony 12 days post-op trying so hard to make these foods work for me, but I am spending hours each day getting these measly ounces past my gag reflex. Let's not even talk about the chalk shakes. Please only comment if you actually live this. Thank you.
  5. What is dat exercise you speaketh of? (I'm 12 days post-op and am still wincing with every step I take)
  6. Honestly, I wish I ate that eclair when I saw it two days before my surgery. It will forever haunt me. Come on everybody, lighten up!
  7. The doctor warned me about sudden lactose intolerance after surgery. So far so good, knock on wood.
  8. I was losing a pound a day, and then suddenly one week out, I was losing four pounds a day! Three days of that, and I didn't lose anything for three days... this morning I weighed myself after a three day stall, and lost another 3 pounds. I think it is a strange hormone/pms/bowelm chain of events which cannot be considered on a daily basis. Think holistically in the greater scheme of things.
  9. This morning, I weighed in at 223. I'm so pissed that I am losing at more than a pound a day, and I won't get to see 222 on the scale tomorrow!!! LOL
  10. I edited the original post to include a link to the wal-mart item.
  11. And somewhere else I read that the rapid weight loss releases the estrogen (stored in the fat cells) into the bloodstream, and then out. As it journeys out of you (because you don't need as much anymore), they cause highs and lows.
  12. I added vanilla flavor, splenda, and wal-mart's orange tangerine flavored drink enhancer (the knockoff for the MIO brands). You can find it in the juice section near the crystal lite powders. It's actually quite excellent for a change. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Orange-Tangerine-Drink-Enhancer-1.62-fl-oz/35105361
  13. Made an appointment with OB-GYN!
  14. I couldn't even get vitamin D covered before the surgery.
  15. lost it today at the eleventh measure :-( I have my lungs checked every day, and my asthma is under control. It's ridiculous!
  16. ...dunno. Just wondering. If estrogen is what's causing these issues, then why not take hormone-based birth control?
  17. Those damn moods.... Had my hair washed this morning by a visiting nurse. I live alone, and the doctor made the referral... nevertheless, it took a hit on my self-esteem.
  18. shake it up. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Drink clear chicken broth. Alternate. Go on netflix and DONT LEAVE!
  19. Just to show you what empowerment looks like:
  20. I'm working to refine that list. I have added two foods yesterday, and continue to experiment. I hope to put together a blog as soon as I have my brain back.
  21. Reminds me of a granny-type nightgown I found at the Wal-Mart plus section years ago. It was labeled OSFM for size. Upon further scrutiny, I saw it said "One Size Fits Most". I'll never forget that.
  22. The ER will contact the surgeon.
  23. Week two, and I just finish my 4 oz pureed dinner after working through it slowly for an hour. Realizing that I needed 6 more grams of Protein to close out my day, I sat down with a yogurt. I realize that unlike last week where I couldn't get in a sip without feeling like I'd explode, I can now actually work through a yogurt, even after a 4 oz dinner. I'm not okay with this. Is this allowed?!
  24. Lock yourself in a room with Netflix. The only hard part was when people were eating on camera. Watch war movies? lol Sorry, I feel you, one million percent!
  25. Friction dryness?
