Anyone else out there in this vast forum... that is having difficulty with pureed texture? I'm literally in agony 12 days post-op trying so hard to make these foods work for me, but I am spending hours each day getting these measly ounces past my gag reflex. Let's not even talk about the chalk shakes.

Please only comment if you actually live this. Thank you.

So let your doctor know and ask if you can switch to soft foods and just chew them really well. I went straight from liquids to solids the week later and was just advised to chew well. I never had any issues.

That's how I am coping for now. I chew everything until it becomes puréed (not blending the cottage cheese, for example)

Yeah I'm sure that's okay. I ate a panini as my first meal after my 1 week check up. I ate half first and half a few hours later and chewed it insanely well but hey I lost 17 lbs the first month which isn't bad. My loss is fairly "slow" but I have made mistakes. This is an addiction to overcome so it takes time and takes some stumbling and getting back up. I finally got to onederland today!!

I lost 18 lbs since RNY 13 days ago. I am okay with the pace of my weight loss. Prior to RNY I was a dry-toast-crispy-crunchy person. Now, I am resigning to a life of mush. Eeeow

yeah the texture issues are bad for me as well. I cannot eat cottage cheese at all, pureed or not. took me WEEKS to get down yogurt.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
