  1. I was never treated poorly to my face at least prior to weight loss surgery. I was always told things like I was beautiful but I should lose weight. Duh. Well I'm now 5 months post op and 40lbs from my goal weight so I still have work to do and still see myself as very heavy. My husband tells me I'm skinny and I know I'm not so that aggravates me lol. But since the weather is getting nicer I've finally replaced my clothes and after a year of working losing weight ppl are really noticing. I've kept my surgery a secret due to I don't feel it's anyone's business. In the past week these are things I've heard "you lost a lot of weight" "how did you lose weight" "what's your secret" "are you on a crack head diet" "you didn't have wls did you? It's incredibly unhealthy for you". All of the above comments to me were rude. A simple you look good or great job would suffice. So I think some ppl are just rude either way. I just try ignoring them and enjoy things like wearing whatever fashionable clothes I want now since I no longer have to shop in the limited selection plus size departments.
  2. I've had to replace all of my clothes finally. I've replaced pants along the way but since it's spring time I've decided stretchy clothes would be best. Maxi skirts, palazzo pants ect. I make sure I have 1-2 pairs of jeans that fit.

    What ya eating tonight?

shrimp with spaghetti squash, a little olive oil and garlic! So good.
  4. I don't have a labor intense job but I was cleared at 4 weeks to start gradually lifting heavier things. And by 6 weeks told I was cleared for whatever. I felt great at 2 weeks so I had to be very conscious about not lifting my child or anything over 10 lbs. and yes everything seems to get easier as the weight Comes off. Wish I did this surgery a long time ago!

    Surgery Secret

The only ppl that I told about my WLS are my parents & husband. When ppl ask me questions on how I did it I just say portion control, no bad carbs, no unhealthy fats and lean protein & excerisize.
  6. I drink lemonade vitamin water all day I generally eat a greek yogurt for breakfast and fish/seafood for lunch & dinner. It's high protein but seems to be light going in my stomach. It's the best foods I've found for me. Do you make sure you take small bites and chew well?

  8. Hi all! My surgery was dec 1st and I'm down 66 pounds since surgery. I've had some complications but am finally feeling "normal" lol.
  9. I eat the cheese and sauce off of pizza and I made cheeseburger pie and that fixed my burger craving!

    Dry heaving

I did, turned out I was severely dehydrated. I hope this is not the case for you!

    Day 3- hard time eating

I'm 3 months out and fluids are still my first priority. Dehydration is not fun at all. Your calorie intake won't be much at this point anyway. I wouldn't focus on calories. What were your post op directions?

    To hospital or not? Help

Gosh I'm so sorry that your being treated this way! Everyone has different pain tolerances and it shouldn't be taken lightly. I hope this is the last of your complications!

    To hospital or not? Help

They removed your gallbladder and sent you home while you were still in pain??

    To hospital or not? Help

Bella, I completely understand your pain! I had RNY on 12/1/14 everything went fabulous I felt great then the week of Christmas things started going downhill. food became painful, drinking became painful, I went to the ER on 12/31/14 and was admitted, I didn't leave until 1/6/15. I had sludge & gallstones and I was going in for surgery. I woke up with my gallbladder and they told me I had ulcers in my stomach and esophagus. They put me on a bunch of Meds and I get to keep my gallbladder for now (wish they woulda just taken it). Lost control of my hydration again because of the ulcers so I've spent 4 hrs a day each day this week getting fluids at the hospital. My arms and hands are all bruised from the IV. The worst part of it all is all the time I've missed out on with my daughter. When I was admitted to the hospital and she would FaceTime me I would end up crying my eyes out. I hope this is the end of your set backs!

    Weed

I know it's not the same but at christmas I was stressed so I smoked some cigarettes and well it ended up putting me in the hospital for a week. I ended up getting very dehydrated CUZ it hurt to drink, long story short smoking gave me ulcers on my digestive track. I'm 6 weeks post op and still struggling to get my water in and throw up constantly.
