Sparklingbeauty53 got a reaction from iloveingvar in Training for a 5 k - BIG deal for me!
My husband and daughter run marathons. I occasionally walk a 5 k and I come in dead last most of the time, if not next to last. They are hard for me and I don't love them. My family runs ahead then circles back to find me and walk me to the finish. I feel very self conscious while doing it. I don't own a sports bra but you don't need them to walk. I am proud that I even did some (total of about 7) but it is hard coming in late.
Well in October I am running my first 5k. I found a bra at Old Navy that actually is a sports bra and it fits (amazing). I am trying a program called couch25k. I am going to follow it religiously and this year I will run it and not feel self conscious at all. I came in next to last year because someone got injured and was behind me as a result. It is in my hometown and I saw loads of people I knew. I want it to be different and the 41 pounds I have lost to date is giving me the confidence to try. Posting here for 2 reasons: Because I want to proclaim it so it happens (keep me honest) and I want to encourage others that have no athletic desires or abilities to tell them it can be done.

Sparklingbeauty53 got a reaction from treilly in Post Op March 2014
HELLO FRIENDS!
I haven't posted in a while. I am not losing like everyone else but I am losing and am happy with that. It is steady yet slow.
I have not been exercising regularly until now. No excuses, no reasons, I should have, could have and didn't. I have lost 46 pounds but the inches have been phenomenal. I have lost 37 1/2 inches. I am in a size large for paints and that is wonderful. My top is smaller but still xlarge, down from 2xl/3xl. I am joining a gym today and making it a part of my routine. Saying I am going to walk doesn't cut it.

Sparklingbeauty53 got a reaction from lin1970 in went thru 3 week stall when is next one?
Did you measure yourself prior? Not all stalls are stalls. They are periods of readjustment and healing for our bodies. I bet you are losing inches! Try on some clothes you remember as being too tight and see what happens! Be patient!

Sparklingbeauty53 got a reaction from RNBSN786 in Biotin
I decided against it. My fear is it will make hair grow in places I have fought for so long...I verified many have seen Hair growth in unwanted places. My surgeon said it is not necessary. Hair loss is inevitable but short lived. I am losing hair which scares me but my hairdresser is not of the opinion I will need a wig before my body catches up. We will see. Good luck in your decision.

Smaller around with the same cup size means you ARE SMALLER overall, I promise!
Cup size is relative to band size...each letter is an inch. So if you are a 34D measurement around your largest part of the bust is 38".
So.....
44DD = 49" bust
40DD = 44" bust
36DD = 40" bust
A 32 D cup is a much smaller breast than a 40 D cup breast. Ml

Sparklingbeauty53 got a reaction from Ginger Snaps in ONERLAND!
I am overjoyed this morning to report I weigh 199! It is a big day. Most people can say I haven't weighed that since...but honestly I don't know when I last weighed this as I avoided the scale. I am so excited to say I joined the onderland club! 25 years ago I was around 170 I believe. I have had a slow weight loss compared to some but it is going down and I am thrilled nonetheless. Yippee!

Heads up! Everyone here is addicted to food. Don't be fooled! Rather they admit it or not they are. You have conquered one and added another. Big deal! This is your new tool to be free of all addictions. You will shine and you will conquer. Being aware of it is half the battle. As Dr. Phil says you can't conquer what you don't acknowledge. You are half way there!

I love walking into my closet and knowing everything in there fits me and I can wear whatever I want! It is getting close to the time when some things are big again...it is a dream come true. I am emotional about it honestly. This is such a gift to myself!

Appreciate Your Body!
Spend some time this week remembering what a miracle your body
really is.
It is through your body that you experience your life.
It is through your body that you get to smell the roses, play with children, taste great food,
connect with friends and family, learn new things, work, play,
listen to beautiful music, sing, dance, cry, Celebrate, make love, create, read, etc., etc., etc...
Thank your body for being there for you.
Remember that no matter
what toxins you've put in your body or how much you stuffed it,
starved it, exercised it or not, it keeps showing up for you every
day. No matter how unkindly you've spoken to or about your body it
has never left you.
The next time you take a shower try this:
As you wash each part of your body bless it and send it love. Speak
to your body as if you were speaking to a child or friend whom you
love unconditionally.
Bless and love your head, your eyes, your ears, your nose, your
mouth, your chin, your neck, your shoulders, your arms, and your
hands. Bless and love your back, your chest, your abdomen, your
hips, your genitals, your thighs, your calves, your ankles and your
feet. Bless and love your all your internal organs including your
heart, your lungs, your liver and your kidneys.
If you have what you believe to be excess fat on your body love it and bless it.
Thank it for having been there for you. Know that you created it to serve as a protective shield for you
to keep you centered, grounded and safe.
Now visualize yourself standing before a gateway on a beautiful hill or on the crest of a wave. Your entire life lies behind you and below you. See that every experience of your past is tied to you by silver and golden threads. Pause and review these experiences... all the joys and all the sorrows... all the adventures it took to bring you to this point... remember all your struggles with your body and your weight. Observe it all, bless it all, thank it all...especially the struggles.
Now untie the threads attaching you to the past, and with all the love you can muster, let your excess weight know that it is safe for it to go now.
Tell it that you are releasing it with love and gratitude, and you are now ready to learn new ways to love and nurture yourself. Release it all and bless it all.
In releasing your attachment to the past, you claim your power in the present.
Step through the gateway now!!
Make a vow that from this moment on you will treat your body with love and respect,
and that you
will speak only kind and loving words to and about your body!
Affirmations:
I am in awe of the miracle that is my body!
I love and respect my body!
My body is amazing!
I speak only kind and loving words to and
about my body!
My body rocks!
Live in Love,
Louisa

Sparklingbeauty53 reacted to mike5232 in Way to relieve gas
Ok Boppin.........you asked. I was out of my bed walking around the halls two hours after coming out of recovery. I made sure that I used the morphine pump, at its fullest to pull this off. I set the timer on my cell phone to make sure I walked EVERY hour, even if I was sleeping. I had read enough to understand that the walking was the key. If have had an unbelievably good experience, and I believe the walking was key.. Stay all over the morphine pump though, no reason to be a martyr .....
