pjpanda got a reaction from Bostonie in Ex-Friend Keeps Writing Negatively About Me on Different Blogs and Web Sites
There is only one point I can agree with your ex friend about. If she truly overcame an eating disorder (and I'm so sure she didn't just replace one with another) your choice may in fact be a trigger to her.
That being said, You don't need that negativity in your life. This choice has nothing to do with her and everything to do with you. YOU made the choice that was best for you, so don't let others get you down. Find Positive friends that accept you for you and not because of what you weigh. Feel free to add me as a friend.

pjpanda got a reaction from Nicholej in So happy with this sleeve ! 8 weeks out
@@Nicholej I'm only 19 days post op but i've found that I do better getting Protein in when I can get it from the food and not the shake. I can only eat so much but when I finish my evening snack I'll be at 45 grams Protein from food alone. (mostly soft chicken in a food processor so it's really tiny and fine to eat).

I got the OK today from the nutritionist to enter phase 5. The last and final phase. I can eat all kinds of food. So excited to add salads back into my life. I use to eat a HUGE salad and now 1 cup will seem huge. Can try an apple with no peel at first but then see if I can tolerate with the peel. I did try a 1/2 c of salad on Saturday, knowing I would only be 2 days early and I did fine. Chew, chew ,chew. I feel blessed that I finally after 32 years of dieting have a real tool that works for me! It tells me after 2 oz of chicken "you are done - don't push it" and I don't. I have not vomited, no slime or had any trouble (other then terrible constipation) but that should take care of itself now that I can add some roughage!! from the very first day I decided to go forward with this procedure, I haven't looked back. I just had an awesome vacation and I was unable to bring food/protein shakes because we were on a motorcycle but I did fine. Just concentrated on Protein, Protein, protein and did fine. Treated myself to a "kiddie" size soft ice cream - without an issue. Even had a couple glasses (small) of wine and didn't get drunk - just softened the nerve endings (if you know what I mean)
Good luck to all of you in the beginning stages - it does get better but make sure you follow the rules. I always kept my paper with instructions in front of me all the time, so I stayed on track.
To those that are having issues - I hope they resolve soon and you can start enjoying the benefits of this surgery. I hope to be in Onederland soon - 7 lbs to go. Been years since I was there! I lose about 2 -3 lbs a week. It's slow by some but I am happy - it's coming off and that's all that matters. I haven't "lost" this weight, I have watched it leave, every damn pound and said "good riddance!! You are never coming back here"!!!

pjpanda got a reaction from BeagleLover in What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
I kind of miss my sweet tooth. After surgery and having drank those Protein shakes, I don't handle sweet things very well. I can barely tolerate a shake - drink it because I have to but too sweet.

Your body has to adjust to weight loss, you may not lose much this week but I bet you're losing inches. Take measurements. If it helps any, I too weigh on a daily basis (i know, working on it) - Lost 13 lbs the first week (total of 15) so far it looks like I may lose only 2 lbs this week but my face is thinner and my double chin as all but disappeared, plus my tight shirts are looser.

While going vegan is not for me, I don't see what the problem is as long as you find ways to get Protein in. Personally I love tofu (9 grams of protein for 1/4th the block) and am looking forward to when I can eat it again (2 more days)

I'm an in home therapist which means I go to people's homes to provide psychotherapy. Often these homes are in low income or "bad" areas. Today I was walking from my car to a home and a group of men were cat calling me. While I probably should have been offended, I wasn't. I've not had that happen in years.....

pjpanda reacted to laners777 in NSV bathing suit and all that goes with it
Well I started the summer season with my kids today by going to the local Water park. Even though I have lost 100 lbs since last summer, I found myself still getting nervous while driving there....keep the cover up on or take it off were my thoughts. I decided to ditch the cover up and go with bathing suit only. Even with all my loose skin, I felt good having the confidence to not wear a cover up over my suit for the first time in over 10 years. I also had the best time climbing the water jungle gym with my 5 yo daughter. Now you must know that this area has water pouring from every direction, slides, climbing nets, a ton of stairs, and the need to dodge children of all ages at a moments notice. I managed all of this with skill and grace...well maybe not grace. It felt amazing to be able to run around, climb stairs, NOT afraid that I would get stuck in the slide on the way down and actually not getting stuck in any part of the smaller spaces of this contraption.
Another reason to be happy with my choice of having the sleeve done. I say this everyday but today it really hit home "BEST THING I EVER DID FOR MYSELF and MY FAMILY"!!!
Hope others had a good day and if you didn't....please have a good one tomorrow.

My dad was raised in the south, when I hear tea, I automatically think black tea - iced and sweet. I do know there is other decaffeinated teas though.
My Nut/dietician and surgeon work together and both said the same thing but it is a debate out there, every plan is different. I get the majority of my fluids from Water. I count the Protein drink as fluids on the days when I just cant get fluids in.

I can see what you mean about searching this site. I've found it easier to look up topics using Google.
I search Google this way - site:bariatricpal.com "keyword"
    Example:
    site:bariatricpal.com Protein powder
Doing a search this way makes life easier. After I ran the search, I saved the Google search results page as a bookmark, it will save the entire search phrase and I don't have to type it in again. All I have to do is replace the keywords to run a new search.

Just to let you Bariatric Bullies know--when someone posts a question here it is because they truly don't know or want constructive criticism! Not to be laughed at or made fun of or be answered condisendingly! Some of us know more than others and that's why we are here! You are not supposed to be a BULLY about it! I for one have been talked down to and literally laughed at for my question about protein!! I was new an knew very little about it and thought I was safe to ask anything here! BOY WAS I WRONG!!! There a quite a few Bariatric Bullies here! Grow up and be an adult already! I wondered why children bully and now I see its adults as well! =
