    Day 1 post op

Thanks for the advice. I passed my swallow test
  2. About to do my barium swallow test to check for leaks. Pain is pretty intense. A lot more pain than what I anticipated. How soon can I expect pain to go down? Also how long for the gas to leave my torso? I've been walking a lot but still feel the has.
  3. Dry mouth could be a sign of dehydration. Are you taking in at least 64oz of fluids?
  4. Wellesse sells liquid protien, 10g of protien in 1oz shot. Makes it super easy to get ur protien in
  5. I am drinking 4 meal replacement shakes / day. I usually add pb to the shake mixed w water and 2 tbs of sugar free pudding mix for more flavor and thicker consistency. It keeps me pretty satisfied but I do get "head hunger" where I want to eat something solid
  6. Adubs2014 Are you feeling real hunger or is it "head hunger"? I'm on that liquid diet pre-op and I don't feel true, real hunger but I definitely feel head hunger because I want to eat something solid

Don't feel bad, I get that all the time. Or "you just have to have more will power!"
  9. Good luck and God Bless to all those going in for surgery soon. And Happy Mothers Day to all our beautiful mothers out there!
  10. Thank you all for your words of advice. In my past weight loss efforts I tried a diet called the "fast duet" which requires some fasting. I would fast 24 hours. Go to work/ teach full day then coach our football team for another 3 hours. I would still manage to throw in a workout during this fast day and all on Water. I felt relatively ok but this is only one day as opposed to 2 week liquids only. So I am going to heed the advice and take the full week off at least. If their are more men out there with this procedure I would really like to hear about your experience also. I have found at least in my experience that a lot of men shun the idea of surgery as an option to aid in weight loss. I guess it's a "machismo" kind of thing. Especially in my circles since I am a coach and have friends that believe that weight loss is simply calories in calories out (over simplified) or believe that it is all about will power? In any case Ladies and Gents please let me hear from you and your experiences (socially) about the weight loss procedure. Thanks
  11. Hi. I am a 33 year old male. Surgery date is 5/27. Would like to help you out. Thanks
  12. Hi all. New to this forum. My surgery date for bypass is 5/27. How bad is the pain after surgery?
  13. Hi All. Thank you to all who contribute to this forum. I am a 33 year old male about to undergo gastric bypass. I am 308 lbs and have developed issues such as sleep apnea, high BP , etc. Any words of wisdom or insights/advice would be welcomed. Thank you in advance for your words. PS. Surgery date 5/27/14. I plan on returning to work 5/30 possibly 5/31. I am a school teacher so I don't have any lifting requirements. You think this will be ok? Thanks
