Day 1 post op

About to do my barium swallow test to check for leaks. Pain is pretty intense. A lot more pain than what I anticipated. How soon can I expect pain to go down? Also how long for the gas to leave my torso? I've been walking a lot but still feel the has.

Congrats on your new life! I have surgery a week and 3 days ago. I had surgery on a Monday and my pain was gone by Friday. I was very so but no pain. I tried to be on my feet as frequently as I could. I walked and walked. That helps a lot with the gas. I know the gas is awful but it should be working its way out soon. When you pass your swallow test, they will prob give you ice chips. Try to burp if you can. Also try laying on your left side. If you can try sitting up in bed. The gas is not fun, but it will pass.

I had my surgery a week ago, still have pain. It was definitely more pain than I expected. Some people are exercising on the third day after surgery?! That's crazy talk.

Glad you passed your test. Keep posting!
