  1. Our local bariatric support groups have clothing exchanges. It's good to clean out the closet and donate it to the group.
  2. I'm 5 months out. I'm in the real food phase. Went to a bariatic cooking class. The subject was the holiday's. We had Turkey...Green beans with orange and sliced almonds...Sweet potatoes...Sugar free pumpkin cheese cake. I don't feel deprived at all. Same tastes of the holiday without all the over stuffing yourself. I'm also jogging in the Turkey day 5K in the morning then dinner at 4:00pm with friends and family.
  3. I work out to this song and I'm making a video of my change to this song. This dark day - 12 stones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1VTtWZdIrA

  7. @@kimpossible67 Oh yeah! the saggy ass syndrome. Its funny how the sizes keep on dropping and it takes your pants falling off to buy something new.
  8. I do find myself trying to compare my body to others in a store or on the street. It's not out of trying to compete with people. It's out of I have no idea how I look. I want to see If I'm a normal size compared to others. Great find on the cups. They are now so mine...... Off to walmart
  9. @@IcanMakeit Thanks for posting this question. I just talked to my PA at my dr's office. I get in about 900 calories. They want me to up it to 1200 to 1500 calories. I have the same fears of gaining or not being able to maintain once I get to goal. I have always failed in the maintenance phase of my previous diets. I know this is different with weight loss surgery but I'm still scared. Hoping to hear from people in maintenance.
  10. @@mfm116 Sleeved June 2nd and I'm finding it harder to get the scale to move. I'm at the gym everyday. an hour of cardio and a half hour added every other day of weightlifting. I did notice I am a Protein freek. I got 71g in yesterday. I'm going to try to change that. I'm up to 900 calories a day..Is this too much? hope someone can shed some light.
  11. This is the most I have ever put into caring for myself. It's a great change. Dont look back
  12. I'm so glad you found something that works for you. Give me a hot cup of tea in the morning and I'm in heaven.
  13. @@Thenewnic Congratulations on your surgery date. Enjoy every minuet..The pain is temporary the results are amazing..
  14. @@joatsaint I do understand that. I have been judged and have judged myself for a long time about my weight. Going by how you look and feel. I feel amazing. Life is good! I just don't see it in the mirror yet. Funny how distorted I am about my body. Oh yes bring on the therapy!
  15. 5 months out and today I woke up to a normal BMI. I have no idea how to take this yet. I don't remember a time when my weight was ever normal. When I look at myself I still don't see normal..I see my therapist next month. Ohhhh we have some work to do on this.
  16. @@SuperDave Thanks for opening up about yourself. You are a great inspiration. Keep us updated on how things progress. Jenn1
  17. @@Iowa_summergirl Awe sounds like a good guy. Tell him I might be a cheap date but my new clothing will cost you..*just kidding* well sort of...
  18. @@ChavaBling Freaking fantastic 100 pounds down. I still cant believe I carried around that much extra weight as well. I found a photo of what 100 pounds looks like. Congratulations!!!! do something special for yourself.
  19. @@Iowa_summergirl It is awkward at first to chew and take so long to eat such a small amount. It's funny to see the waitress think my food is bad when I don't eat a full meal and ask for a to go box. It becomes a new normal. Social settings become more about the conversations and less about the food. I love going out to eat. I'm a cheap date these day's. An appetizer and I'm good. I watch the people around me and think back at how much I used to eat. It's nice to slow down and not feel like I have to clean my plate. Yes! go out to eat..Its an interesting experience post op. It all works out..People just think you eat light and healthy.
