  1. Day 5 of my pre op diet was the turnaround day for me. It happened to fall on a Saturday and thought oh no... this is going to be horrible. But that is when my hunger/ cravings really decreased. I did fine with the pre op diet day 5 to 14 after that. Hopefully you will be the same way.
  2. On my post op day 5, I developed blurry vision. I called the Dr and he said I needed to increase my fluid and my protein. I had to eat 3 hard candies to get the blurry vision to go away so I thought it was low sugar. On day 6 I practically slept all day and was very tired. I gradually increased my fluids and protein and I felt better. Perhaps it is the same with you habsi.
  3. As you heal and the swelling goes down, drinking fluids gets easier. I was the same way 4 days out. I am now almost 2 weeks out and fliuds go down fine.
  4. No pain on my right side. I do have more pain if I try to sleep on my left side than my right side.
  5. TaylorR...my surgery was May 27th and every day I feel better. You will too. Hang in there! We can do this!
  6. Wow! You look amazing! How are you doing now?
  7. Habsi...are you on clear liquids or semi liquid? I am on semi liquids. We can have sugar free sorbet, low fat light yogurt, fat free or low fat one percent cottage cheese with no fruit added, fat free ricotta cheese, strained low fat cream soup made with skim milk or water, sugar free low fat pudding, thinned hot cereal made with skim milk or water like cream of wheat or cream of rice. I went to the grocery store and bought some soup they had at the deli today. It was beef barley soup. I filled half the container with the vegetables and meat and half the beef broth. I will eat the beef broth and give the rest to my husband.
  8. I called him on Sunday with the double vision. He said it was dehydration and to increase my fluids and protein. I am trying. It is hard when I am not hungry. Every day since Sunday I have increased my fluids 8oz more every day.
  9. I would say all the additives to water you mentioned are perfectly fine. Noncaloric and no caffeine.
  10. I am one week post surgery from having a sleeve (May 27th). On day 5 I developed a very scary double vision and numbness around my mouth. It lasted for an hour and a half until I came home and ate some hard candies and then it went away. Don't know it was sugar related or dehydration. Day 6 I felt drained and had another blurry vision episode and took 3 naps. Day 7 I am pushing myself to get more protein and more fluids. This is hard.
  11. After surgery you can have blurry vision...from drugs...I did not realize that.
  12. I do not even think of solid food yet. I am barely get in my liquid protein without getting full. I am six days postop.
  13. How sweet! Little plate and all!
  14. I only had Heparin injections twice a day while in the hospital. No injections at home.
  15. I went to GNC and the employee said Isopure has an aftertaste and did not recommend them. So I did not buy any.
  16. Terisis...I am 5 days postop and feel the same as you! My abdomen feels huge and bloated.
  17. I am 5 days postop and drink 1/2 scoop of shake powder with 1/2 cup Skim milk plus and drink it slowly. I also drink 1/2 scoop Unjury chicken soup powder and drink slowly. I tried cottage cheese today for the first time and could only tolerate a few bites but it is some protein.
  18. Today is day 5 postop. I started my vitamins today. Trying to get some protein in with shakes but do not want to overdo it. How much liquids do you drink at a time at this stage? I made 1/2 serving of a shake just now but now sure how fast/ slow to drink it. As tolerated or oz per hr? I just took pain meds and sitting in a recliner with a heating pad on my belly feels really good. The gas is almost all gone. Still have surgical pain with movement. No BM today so I will take Miralax later today.
  19. Preop diet days 1-4 were hard but all of a sudden on day 5-14 it was much easier. Thank goodness!!
  20. I am on day 4 postop. There is no way I could do a Color Run. I sat at the baseball field in a camping chair for 2 1/2 hrs and just that wore me out. I continue to take pain meds but no nausea and gas is less and less. Here is mu diet progression.... Day 0....is the day of surgery Day 1-4...liquids only including the protein shakes Day 5-14...liquids and semi-liquid including protein shake Week 3 and 4..blended/pureed diet including protein shakes Week 5 to 8...soft diet After 8 weeks...gradually resuming regular low fat low sugar foods as tolerated
  21. My hospital calls it same day surgery too but I spent 2 nights in the hospital. It is very confusing.
  22. I was sleeved on May 27th. Everyone in the hospital was fantastic. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. But those two days...wow. The gas pains caused me nausea and pain. That was the worst part. All my pain stayed in my belly region. It is now day 3 postop and I still feel the gas moving around but at least it does not cause nausea or pain. I too have blurred vision and chalked it up to the medicines in the hospital or anesthesia. I brought a book to read and only read a few pages as it was too difficult to focus. I have 5 bandages on my abdomen. No drains and no Foley catheter was ever inserted. I am sip-sip sipping my protein drinks now. Hard to get it all in.
  23. Hang in there Tarbaby! I had my sleeve on May 27th. All that gas causes me nausea and pain so I walk walk walk. I still have gas 3 days out. Waiting for all the gas to disappear.
