Pre-op Class?
@Sophieschoice It was a class of about 15people, I was aloud to bring a friend with me for support (I brought 3). Definitely not a one on one, It was an class they require all patients to take before the surgery I just assumed it was part of everything else.l I was never told otherwise.

Pre-op Class?
I never had any required seminars, and the seminar they did offer was free. I had a 2hr class that just went over nutrition and eating after surgery that was required. Not sure why it was required seeing as the Nutritionist I went to went through all the same information.. The surgeon wasn't even in the class.

Pre-op Class?
So I had my pre-op class to go over the nutrition and basics for after surgery on 8/12, When I got there they asked for a $20 copay which I thought was odd because I was there for a Class. Here it is 2 weeks later I get a statement from the surgeons office for $334!, In which I now owe $118 of. They charged it as a "Office Visit". Did anyone else have to pay for their pro-op class?..Should I call and fight this?

Prilosec, Zantac, Nexium...

Prilosec, Zantac, Nexium...
I got something called "Zegrid OTC" the other day to start taking 2 weeks before my surgery. I looked it up online and it said it was basically the same thing as Prilosec.

Anesthesia?
@@fezik23 Were you not nauseous after surgery?

Anesthesia?
I've heard a lot of people talk about how after surgery they were deathly nauseous because of the "anesthesia". I've had at least 4 other surgeries before my vsg which is coming up quick (9/8/14) and have never experienced nausea from going under. So my question is, is the nausea actually caused by the anesthesia or the pain medication that is administered?..That one I can believe as I was nauseous and throwing up the whole labor and birth of my daughter (TMI) after they gave me my epidural.

Skim Pluz Milk?
I'm not much for milk and when I am its 2% or nothing. So my nutritionist suggested "Skim Plus" because of my not liking regular Skim Milk. I finally found it after searching 3 different stores and I have to say it was pretty good, The consistency was that of regular milk (It wasn't thin) the only thing I noticed was different in taste which was that of milk after eating sweetened Cereal (Weird I know). Cal: 110cal for 8oz Fat: 0g Carb:17% Sugar:16g Protein:11g A little high in Sugar for post-op, But it might outweigh itself due to the 11g of Protein which I notice most "Milk Substitutes" only have 1g-8g..Anyone else have any experience Skim Plus? http://www.skimplus.com/

Muscle Milk
I'm so confused. I've seen tons of VSGers use Muscle Milk, Pure Protein and Primer Protein. Have no idea which one to choose, My nut just said no more then 5grams of sugar and 10carbs.

Oh Lord Have Mercy! I AM APROVED!
Congratulations & Good Luck!

Wanted: September Sleevers!
Technically you can have clear sugar free sodas on the clear liquid diet pre-op. My nutritionist gave me a list that included 7up and Sprite. With that being said, remember once surgery happens you will no longer be advised to drink carbonated beverages so be prepared for that.

weight gain after starting gym
I think it's normal, at least for me. Anytime I've started a gym regimen I always gain first. Maybe muscle?

Life After VSG
I'm still pre-op but from what I understand from many others out there this feeling is very common. Your only 2 weeks out which is still fairly early in the game, it's going to take a little while to get the hang of everything and feel "Normal" again. Also most woman are more emotional after surgery because hormones are stored in your fat cells, so you losing weight those are going to released as well.

Pocket Protein?
Update Tried the strawberry womans flavor today, it was very sweet and a little bitter but for me manageable. It tasted a lot like a 5hr energy shot... I hope I'm able to stomach it after surgery.
