@@InfiniteButterfly The shorts I currently wear are a size 20 from old navy, I love the way their clothes fit. Also a store that I've fallen in love with recently is Forever21 plus they have some really cute dresses. I guess I would consider myself a bit of a clothes horder I still have jeans from 9th grade which was in 2004, I got pregnant right after high school so I just kind of held on to everything thinking that someday I'd be able to fit back into them.

So tonight I took the time out to clean out my dresser and closet, There were so many clothes that I literally can't fit anymore but a lot of them are thing's that no longer fit or are so old and out dated I have no desire to ever wear them again. In one dresser I found an old pair of size 15 shorts from 7 summer's back I've decided to keep these in hopes that they will fit next summer. Here's a picture comparing my current size 20 shorts to my size 15 shorts, It's crazy to think that I could someday fit back into them! What's the one article of clothing you're hoping to fit back into soon?

None. My insurance didn't require a 6month diet, And my surgeon didn't require me to lose any weight.

@@Kindle I agree, I only used this as an example of the recent anti-wls propaganda I've been sent from someone trying to talk me out of wls. It's obviously quite dated and therefore obsolete/inaccurate information.

I've been in a relationship for the past 7 year's we have one daughter together and just got married this past October. I've recently been approved for vsg in September. Through the whole pre-op process I constantly asked my husband if he was on board and comfortable with my decision and usually got something along the lines of "I support you with whatever you want to do, But I already think you're beautiful". I guess I'm not content with that and I keep asking and digging for a real answer because part of me feels like he's not telling me the whole truth, lately I've been talking to him about it and have been getting sarcastic remarks like "when we go out to eat you'll just get a water and a salad" *Said in the voice of a really snobby chick*. I guess when I think about it a lot of our relationship revolves around food and drink and always has, I kind of feel like I'm taking away his bestfriend and the woman he fell in love with. I know they say a lot of marriages and relationships fall apart after wls and I'm not sure if I want my marriage or weight loss more. I guess maybe this would be better put in the "Rant" section but I find more people read posts here and I just needed to get that off my chest.

I'm from NJ. Started my journey May 14th and my surgery is scheduled for September 8th.

@@SherB Same here!! I've never been able to wear dress boots because they don't fit over my calves. I wear those off brand Ugg's lol.

I just couldn't believe that a Dr would alter a patient without their consent like that. I mean ok I believe it to some degree But then to get away with it?! I don't think the family friend is willing to do anything about it at this point 2 years out..I will make a note that she doesn't have a good reputation for telling the truth about things, So who knows she could just be blowing smoke up my a**.

I'm excited to feel cold, I love big cuddly sweaters and boots. I want to know what it's like to tuck myself up tight with a book and not sweat between chapters. Unfortunately this past winter I purchased an amazing Steve Madden wool horizontal-zip jacket, that I know won't fit this coming winter after surgery :/ I'm contemplating putting the money in to get it altered.

I have a friend of the family that had the sleeve done 2 year's ago, I've been talking to her about my up coming surgery and what she's experienced, and one thing she told me is she throws up A LOT even being 2 year's out and the reason she gave me was "I do throw up alot and my dr told me after my 6 week checkup he made my sleeve tighter than he normally did and i would throw up super easy" to this I was surprised and shocked, and said I would have been super pissed if my surgeon did that " I was....he told me that the group of sleeve patients he was working with were part of a new study to see how a tighter sleeve would be different than the way they were currently doing it. and he told me that there was no reversal so i was stuck with it" To that I said I would have sued the crap out of him " i did talk to a lawyer and he spoke to the legal guy at the hospital and i was told that the papers I signed for surgery said I resume all side effects no matter what happened unless the dr made an error but they did a scope and confirmed he didn't". If my surgeon had done something like that without my permission I would lose it, Has anyone else had this issue or know someone who has?..Is this a common thing?. I mean there's a good chance she just had a really shitty surgeon, but still crazy.

I'm so sorry you're going through all this.. Don't give up "Just Keep Swimming" and defiantly ask you're surgeons office to send in an appeal.

@ It might not be as long of a journey as you think. I had my consultation appointment in May and I finished all the requirments for insurance 2 weeks ago, and now approved for my Surgery September 8th.

All I can think that this decision for an out patient procedure was decided by my insurance due to me having no other issues other then a BMI of 41. Thankfully after my surgery my 4 year old daughter will be staying down with my mother in MD for a week, So I'll be able to get plenty of rest.

@@Domika03 Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately she lives 3hrs away and never visits (she hates the drive). And I'm past the stage of Dr's visits and seminars, My surgery is scheduled for September 8th.

So me and my mom are not on the same page when it comes to me getting the sleeve (Not that I thought we would be) so we often argue about it and sometimes I wish I wouldn't have told her, But she's my mom and I thought she had a right to know. She always brings up stories about WLS she's seen on tv, or a friend of a friend and it going wrong or them dying, She also believes I'm getting this done for all the wrong reasons and that the only person it's benefiting is the surgeons pocket. Her thoughts have not swayed me either way, but I know she's super uneducated on WLS and I'm looking for some help to sooth her worried "Mom Mind". What Facts, Articles, Statistics or videos would you show a worried loved one who could use a little bit more education on the subject of WLS or Gastric Sleeve to calm them or at least show them the facts? I don't really care either way if she's against me getting it or not, But I'd like her to know all the positive/right facts and information instead of what she hears on television and through the grapevine.

I have no idea but I had the weirdest experience.. I called my insurance yesterday at 10am and the lady told me "Well it looks like we got the request on the 2nd of this month and it's still pending so call back at the end of the week" in reality it was sent in on the 27th of June, No big deal fine ill call back at the end of the week...Fast forward 4hrs later I get a call from my insurance coordinator from my surgeons office saying I've been approved.

I'll definitely call and ask..

@@Mrs.RRn Lucky you! I'm not sure yet if I'll have to drive back down to my surgeons office the next day or not to be checked out. I do know that they do the "Leak Test" while you're still under, pretty much right after they are done removing the stomach and stitching it up.
