Georgia Pritchett got a reaction from VSGAnn2014 in Amazed at some day one or two post op recovery stories
Well, I turned 52 the day before my surgery but I recovered very easily. It was my third abdominal surgery and I recovered easiest from this (lap left kidney removal for donation and left ovary with giant cyst open were the other two). I had no trouble walking a mile on day 4. Day 4 of kidney removal I was still clutching my gut for every move! I walked a much before that surgery as before this one (and I weighed a lot less). Of course with the left kidney and ovary gone, I guess there was more room on that side :-) I go back to work tomorrow. I think it's just dumb luck this time but I'm thankful for it. I was prepared for it to be much worse.

I am on the countdown!! 10 days!!! I start preop diet on Friday!! I think about this surgery all day and night long!! When I first wake in the morning I wake up thinking you don't need this surgery!! You need to eat healthier and exercise more!! Then once I am awake a getting ready for the day it's like I have to face my reality that this is for me!! I need this! My body needs this! My health needs this!!! I pray a lot! Beings that I have to fly for my surgery it has added some nerves. I am going by myself so my husband can stay with the kids and keep them in their routine! My husband and dearest friend are the only two people I have told! I have to just keep praying!!

What everyone else said above.
I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and am currently enjoying my three week stall. Happily, I knew it was coming. Not sweating it at all.
And I've lost post-op 9 pounds. So look how great you're doing.
I'm not in a race with anyone.

I go back to my retail job tomorrow... I too am concerned about my fluids and energy level. I'm still not 100% recovered on my pain levels either. Really nervous.

Good luck to you. I happy I took a month off. I still have no energy I commute on public transportation and I am not ready for that. -

@@Georgia Pritchett I too am worried about getting everything in at work. It can get so busy that I often forget to eat/drink on a normal basis. My doc said to just keep a Protein Shake and/or Water with me at all times. I have a coworker who had gastric bypass a few months ago and I asked her about it. She said it can be a challenge but that she sets alarms on her fitbit to provide a reminder. Ive been trying that these past few days and it's be a nice, discreet reminder - just a vibration of the band.

Post op today. Feeling great about my loss (4 lbs) since I did 2 weeks of liquids, 2 days of Clear Liquids, and a colon cleanse before surgery :-) I get to do pureed foods now including meats. tuna "salad" (tuna, greek yogurt, and spices) for dinner.

I was sleeved on 09/10. Still in hospital...worse pain for me is in shoulders, I guess it's still gas built up. Hospital needs a masseuse on staff! Lol

I did it. I am sleeved. Woke up from surgery at 0930 today. Some bad pain at first. I was up walking before noon. Getting fair amount of liquids in. Twisting and reaching hurt the most. Everyone is happy with my progress. Excited for the future.

We're home now, we live a few hours away from the hospital so we didn't get home until about an hour ago. I still feel pretty good, just some soreness. The hubs is much better now. Right after I posted earlier, they got him out of bed and into a chair. He hasn't needed any pain meds since.

Georgia Pritchett reacted to alur72 in Sept 3 sleevers?
Hi all... First time writing anything. It's been a week since my laparoscopic sleeve and I am still in sooo much pain on my left side. I can barely move, stand straight or walk. It's been awful. I really thought it was going to be a piece of cake since I had 2 previous c-sections. Anyone else here experiencing this? I called my docs office yesterday and they said it's totally normal. I have a post op check up tomorrow. I'm scared because everyone else writes how good they feel and they can go out and about and I can't even get relief from my pain pills. The pain is not from the incisions but deep inside... Please help.

@@alur72, I'm so sorry you're having this pain. The best thing is that you MD said it's totally normal so even though it's horrible to deal with you know it's temporary. Glad you are going in for a check up tomorrow, my MD doesn't schedule us back until 2 weeks post surgery. I am one of the ones doing well - right now at least - but I as of yesterday and today I"m having horrible gas (not from the anesthesia) pains and cramping, and I'm starting to feel lightheaded from not having calories for so long. So I would guess that we all have something we're dealing with - we're not all living the good life, that's for sure! I hope the pain gets better soon, keep in touch with us and let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Georgia Pritchett reacted to Jenny L in Weird comments, and how to respond!
You know what I mean. You run into someone you haven't seen for some time, and they remark on your weight loss, but in a weird way and you're not sure how to take it. I ran into another mom I know from my sons school (as in not a close friend or anything remotely like that) and she noticed the weight loss, asked what I was doing etc. And then she says "oh your husband must love it!"
What?? What do I say to that? That was weird. Like "nah, he likes his ladies large" or "yeah he was packing his bags before I lost the weight". Awkward!!
