Any july surgery dates?
I agree!! Looking forward to sharing with people doing this at the same time. 36 year old female, single, mom of one. Have surgery scheduled July 22nd. Self paying so don't have a lot to do right now except research, don't have to do so many dr appts and tests. About 300 lbs now, keep losing and gaining 5 pounds. 5'5". My goal... Not sure maybe 145 as a dream goal but anything under 200 will make me thrilled. And then I will hack off another couple pounds with plastic surgery to remove extra skin :-) I want to look great... But I also want to feel great, have more energy and stamina. I want to be able to maintain my home inside and out like I used to be able to.

Oh no! I didn't mean to say that YOU were saying that! I'm sorry! Someone else said you deserve it and it made me realize that's what I always tell myself, and it's bad for me . :-) glad you enjoyed your treat.

Thoughts?
I haven't had the sleeve yet, going to in July, and I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I will have to have some lifts, nips, & tucks to feel good about my shape after I reach my goal weight. :-( but I look forward to feeling healthier in the meantime!!

Dating after Weight Loss Surgery
I just have to Remember I have awesome friends and family, and ENJOY the independence and freedom of being single, just as I hope when I'm with someone I will enjoy the companionship. And not let myself be defined by whether or not I am part of a couple!

Dating after Weight Loss Surgery
Ginger I'm sorry :-( I like watching sports but that doesn't get me anywhere either. Who knows what men want. Lol I'm"seeing" a guy I met online. Omg have men forgotten how to communicate? A friggin text at 9pm saying wish you were here ... But claim it's not an attempt at a booty call... Yeah right. I say "I need phone calls, or seeing you in person, texting doesn't do it for me"... And yet the texts continue. One word...... "NEXT!!!"

For the love of sweet Jesus.....
Not that in particular. The point is, things change. Doctors get better or worse, food and Vitamin manufacturers go out of business or formulas change, medical opinion changes, etc. being brand new to this, I have no idea about history of those things but I am used to other things changing rapidly. I was only suggesting a reason to keep dialogue open, and not trying to be rude. Perhaps I'm in the minority.

Another point of view is that someone may have NEW information ... Last years answer on the best brands may not still apply.

Swimsuit Blues
Lands end has a great two peice - they have skirted and non skirted bottoms that go up over your tummy almost like spanx and hold things in a little, you can pair with a tankini of your choice and they have underwires

What are some NSV's you're looking foward to?
I will feel successful when I don't take up so much space- like not having to turn sideways in a narrow aisle. Also I want to ride roller coasters without checking to see if I fit.

Pop Tarts
I know I will struggle with wanting junk food after I have the surgery. But I CANNOT tell myself to eat something because I deserve it. That's what got me where I am at. But we are all different with various motivations and issues. Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Dating after Weight Loss Surgery
I have absolutely thought about putting a models pic up to watch the responses come flooding in. Lol would be pretty hard on the ol ego though. I just can't get over how many men want a woman who likes to hunt, fish, play sports. Yeah some women do. But I don't want a man to have a manicure with, or shop for shoes with. So I just don't get it.

Bye bye boobies
FYI search terms very important. Search avacado breasts and you get.... Chicken recipes.

Ahem...very personal :)
I know this thread is old... But I think guys say they never have just to get girls to try!
-
Don't tell me i didn't try!
I haven't tried that many... South beach, Richard Simmons including those pills that made me jittery, Weight watchers, Year long expensive program with group whining I mean therapy, Personal trainer, and a nutritionist who told me to eat low fat processed foods like lean cuisine ... Yeah that's what she gets paid to tell people?? Protein shakes, Year of showing my food diary to my doctor and saying "yeah I know I shouldn't eat that stuff" Sooo ready for a change.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....
Meaning someone else already had this rant a year ago. You mean you didn't do an exhaustive search to find it, before posting on it again? Tsk tsk Sorry couldn't resist. :-) ????????

Hampton Roads Sleevers? Any one out there?
I'm seeing dr Clark for surgery in July. I have a friend who had the sleeve with him and loves it. He said most are outpatient (I am assuming unless there are complications).

Things I won't miss...
Oh yes I am looking forward to wearing a bathing suit with no heat rash on my thighs ... Wearing winter clothes in winter instead of sweating in summer clothes in February .... Guess I might have to own a coat again. :-)

Don't hate on fluffy people
Oh and maybe I need to be less sensitive lol

Don't hate on fluffy people
What awesome people you are :-) thanks to all of you. I always say people are beautiful before and after, but I am so hard on myself, and you're right I want to be harsh to myself before anyone else has the chance. Much change needs to happen within.....

I wanted a little motivation
Rena that's beautiful :-) I keep a zippered hoodie my son bought me as a gift that I have never fit into, hoping one day to finally wear it. He bought it in Boston on a trip with my dad. I felt so bad that I was too big to wear it

Don't hate on fluffy people
I am preparing for the sleeve. Met wonderful beautiful ladies who are around their goal weight last night, at a support group, who proudly showed me their before pics and then said something like "I can't believe I thought I was cute I was a fat cow" Guess what, they were cute! Beautiful! Way hotter than I am at this moment! So although they didn't mean to, it made me feel horrible about myself. I know I may feel differently in a year or two, but for now I think we should be kind and don't throw around words that make newbies feel even worse about themselves. :-( feeling ugly and fat

Things I won't miss...
I will be so happy, as someone said above, to be happy looking in the mirror at the salon after a haircut. Before LASIK I left my glasses off as long as possible so I didn't have to look at myself.

Things I won't miss...
I won't miss having to turn sideways and think skinny just to get in and out of a bathroom stall. Omg who are they building these stalls for??
