  1. I am pre op but yeah walking hurts my back hips and ankles. And calves. My friend forced/encouraged me to walk with her last fall for one mile. Took me about a month to recocrrw because the pace was too fast and I pulled something in my foot. Felt like such a failure. Cant wait to be lighter and healthy.
  2. So that adds blow blow blow to the mantra?? :-P I definitely have to have the tee shirt now
  3. I would say all of the above had a small part in it. Also until very recently I didnt think I was that big, not big enough for something so drastic. Ha! If being double your ideal weight isnt big enough for surgery what is? So I guess for me the obstacle was denial.
  4. Well since being unhealthy has made me have "brain fog" I cant always remember my list lol. But here goes 1. Be healthy. Get rid of sleep apnea and asthma. 2. Be able to get my moneys worth out of vacations ...being energetic and not needing so many rests and naps. 3. Not let family friends and co workers down when I quite literally cant carry my own weight. I know theyd like me to do more and I just cant. 4. I already wear cute clothes but I will enjoy having more of a selection. And more importantly the energy to shop for them. 5. Liking pics of myself. 6. Not having to be the girl with the pretty eyes. 7. Not having a man say he likes me cuz he always liked the big girls. I am not a type or a fetish I am a human being. 8. Having a clean house and a landcaped lawn due to increased energy decreased back pain and no asthma. 9. Not embarassing my son due to my size. 10. Being on the outside who I am ok the inside.
  5. Well you could make your own diet. Maybe two meal replacement shakes per day, couple of healthy snacks and one healthy high protein meal. Lots of water. I guess run it by the dr tho
  6. I totally understand where youre at. Well im a little behind you cuz I still want to eat lol but its starting to get ridiculous. My bday is this week and im on vacay. I want to go to a buffet for the last time this week.
  7. Im super excited. Have a month to go. My appetite is raging and I just wanna get it over with before I gain a hundred pounds lol. Stress eating. Am having fun buying things like a kitchen scale, 2 oz freezer safe containers for food, popsicle molds so I can have unlimited popsicles during preop and those first few weeks that sound so tough. Hope you are all doing well :-)
  8. Yeah I dated a guy who wouldnt stop talking about his surgery. This was before I was considering surgery. We didnt click and even if I had liked him I couldnt stand hours of listenimhw to him list forrest gump style what he couldnt eat anymore. Now I feel bad because I know how excited I am. Lol but we didnt click anyway.
  9. Well im really good at worrying so lets see... I am Worried that ... I will not work the tool like I should and remain obese I will be hungry ALL THE TIME I wont have enough energy to do well at work My hair will fall out and it will be noticeable I wont be able to afford plastic surgery when its time I will be scared in hospital I will suffer complications or long term negative side effects like bone loss despite doing everything im told to do None of that is reason enough not to go through with this. But theyre things I think about. I just want to be healthy enough to enjoy life.
  10. The prep really isnt that bad. Take a book or ipad and have a seat lol
  11. Hi!! Im in the area.37 soon to be empty nester. Surgery in july. How are you?
  12. Will do!! So excited for us both
  13. Im in gloucester and would totally drive to Richmond for a meeting!!!
  14. My last nut tried to sell me on a diet consisting largely or processed frozen foods. I wanted real guidance not something from the freezer section full of crap. Dont know how that constitutes nutritional advice.
  15. Tortilla chips. Coke. Donuts. Croissants. I know you said one but I didnt get where im at with only one fav. Lol
  16. Heck yeah im bitter about men not wanting to date a fluffy chick. However in my last relationship my partner had gained so much weight that he didnt want to work, parent, do fun things, have sex, do chores. Nothing. So I can finally see a good reason not to date someone who is less active than yourself... leads to a lot of fights and heartache. And im not THAT active. Its odd for me to think about how after surgery and weight loss that i will be one of those people who is looking for an active person to date.
  17. I lost ten pounds or so on a cruise this year, pre op, just by staying active. We danced in the club all night!
  18. Mine is scheduled for the same date and I too will return to work asap!
  19. Having surgery in Hampton next month!
  20. July 22nd here. Getting closer!
  21. @@LilBoo007 Thanks I'm pretty nervous about this whereas I was so sure about the sleeve.
  22. Grrr. Was told this week due to barretts esophagus I cant have the sleeve and am leery of the bypass due to its reputation of being dangerous. Researched it and now my chief worries are hospital readmission because im self paying and the possibilities of dumping or incontinence. Sounds unpleasant. However getting out of my car today I heard the plastic on the side of the seat snap. How embarassing and thankful no one was there to hear it. That put me over the edge. Will talk to surgeon about bypass this week. How common is dumping and (God forbid) fecal incontinence?
  23. I just found out yesterday I cannot have the sleeve. Not sure I want to proceed with bypass.... how to decide??
  24. Wow thats pretty interesting!!
