I doubt this could be done without shakes. It's tough enough to hit our Protein goals even with the shakes.

I had clumps for the first few months until my chemist wife figured it out. Use room temperature Water first. Use about 2/3rd the recommended amount. shake it with the Blender Bottle. Make sure you use the whisk they come with. Shake shake shake. Then include the ice to make it cold. You should end up with the recommended amount of water once the ice melts a bit.

Josh2xh got a reaction from LL112 in First day at the gym and I passed out!
So today was my first real day at the gym. The day before I rode the bike for 45 minutes and that doesn't really count. Today I worked with a trainer on a strength assessment test. We only did about 5 workouts and I past out at the end for a few minutes. They thought it was a blood pressure issue so they were trying to get some circulation but that just made it worse.
I became semi-coherent after about 5 minutes but my vision started to blur. After 15 minutes the blood pressure didn't seem to be the problem and I remembered when I got home after surgery I had the same problem and my wife made me eat Peanut Butter to get my blood sugar up. The trainer brought over some honey and that seemed to do the trick. They still made me sit eat honey and hydrate for the next hour though (I am glad they did).
I am concerned about low blood sugar and passing out again, but I hate to give up core training. I also have tried really hard to cut out carbs and sugars but I don't want to pass out again. I also believe bending and standing really had something to do with it. Normally I get light headed when I stand from a sedentary position.
Does anyone have some nutrition suggestions?
P.S. if you are going to pass out you will want to be at LA Fitness with one of their trainers. I think I would have been screwed anywhere else.

    Quick update...
I went to the gym again today for weight training. I drank and ate a lot the day before and had some carbs for Breakfast so I would have some quick fuel to burn.
I set some good boundaries with the trainer and kept them. I got a good upper body workout and about 45 minutes of good bike work.
The best news... I didn't pass out. ????

If there was one thing you had to give up, it should be soda. Even sparkling Water is loaded with sodium.

I literally had the same experience. My dad is better than anyone I know at respecting personal boundaries. But I went to church and someone came up to me asking how I was doing. I was so pissed at my dad and the situation he and the individual put me in. I just thought it incredibly rude of the individual to ask me the way she did. My wife was even blown away.
I thought I had gotten over this but reading your post brought back the memory. I don't have a clue how it can be made right.

I think eating before might be the trick. I only had a Decaf coffee with half a cup of milk and 15 grams of Isopure Protein. And that was about 2 hours before the workout. I need to eat some carbs and more protein.

On April 17th of this year I had my VSG.
Two weeks prior to surgery I was on 100% liquids with the last week all Clear Liquids. Surgery happens. 2.5 weeks later I was still HATING this decision. food and liquids hurt when you swallowed more than a thimble full. It was a constant fight against 38 years of practice. I lost many battles. Then something happened. I swallowed instinctively and NOTHING BAD HAPPENED. I remember thinking, "Oh shit! I'm about to pop staples and die from some septic gunk coursing through my veins."
Staples held, nothing bad happened, I lived - and still am.
In fact I'm much better. See below:
    April 17, 2014 - Weight 298 lbs. (45.6 BMI)
    June 23, 2014- Weight 224 lbs (34.1 BMI)
    TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS- 74 lbs.
    A1C on Surgery Date- 6.7 (6.5 + is Diabetic)
    A1C on June 16, 2014- 4.6 (5.7 and below is normal)
Post Meal Glucose Level on Surgery Date- 210 mg/dl (DIABETIC is 200 mg/dl or greater)
    Post Meal Glucose Level on June 22, 2014- 99 mg/dl (NORMAL is <140 mg/dl)
    Waist Size Pre-Surgery- 46 in.
    Waist Size June 6, 2014- 36 in
    Shirt Size Pre-Surgery- XXL
    Shirt Size June 6, 2014- L
    Shoe Size Pre-Surgery- 10 wide
    Shoe Size June 6, 2014- 9 med
Addendum: Additional non-quantifiable changes post surgery:
chicken Nuggets were amazing before. They now smell like Satan's dirty underwear. Salmon - Pre-Surgery- yucktastic Now- an amazing fish Ice Cream is impossible to eat now. (kinda bummed about that one...not really) Knee/foot pain from tennis - largely gone Existing on less than 1000 calories a day is not as bad as you may think Gatorade is physically easier to drink than Water (I know, that is hard for me to believe too) My libido is more...noticeable. Any one out there have any comments, recommendations, or accolades to throw my way...Lets read em. Post in comments.

Booths at restaurants used to piss me off - there is the rule about no elbows on the table, however there is an unspoken objection to my gut being on the table that i noticed alot. Not good psyche mojo!
So, now - When asked, I say "I'll take a booth please." and slip my ass right in there. Just because I can!
Small victorys are meaning a lot to me now. more so than I thought they would.
