Just happened to me. I think I ate my fish too fast. This was the first time it happened to me. I am 9 weeks out and hope it doesn't happen again.

I had my surgery a month before my 59th birthday and was 248 pounds. It is now 2 years later and I weigh 130. I wish I had had the surgery when I was younger, but it just wasn't my time. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe I needed to live longer in my fat body to appreciate my surgery. I don't take my surgery for granted. I still log everything I eat everyday. You get out of it what you put in it.

I actually spent about 6 months researching WLS prior to going in for my consult. I feel I knew everything that I need to know. I am the type of person that has to have all the facts upfront. I watched videos on youtube, downloaded books from Amazon about WLS, talked to my doctor, went to support groups, and talked to my step-daughter who had gastric sleeve the year before. The information I got from these forums was very helpful. Most people didn't sugar coat anything. I was well informed about problems that could come up, what foods to have on hand for after surgery, what to do and what not to do.
This surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am 2 years out and am about 20 pounds under my goal. I still log everything I eat, everyday. We recently went on a 10 day trip to Hawaii, including a cruise. I continued to log and actually lost a pound. I never feel deprived. I eat what I want, but before I eat junk, I make sure that I have had all my Protein for the day. I can count on my hand the times I have eaten junk food. Just not interested in it anymore. That stuff is what got me fat. For me it all comes down to choices, and I choose being healthy over eating what will make me fat and shorten my life.

I'm kinda freaking out now about my Hair loss. I'm at 3 months and it just started, so was pleased to see the issue brought back up on the forum. My shower is full of hair everytime I wash my hair. My bathroom is full of my hair. My hair is one of my best attributes so yes, I'm worried. I do hope it stops shedding soon.

    @@gigglesforyou369,
Unfortunately, it happens! There’s not always much you can do to stop it. There are supplements like Biotin. Also, getting in your Protein and fluids helps. Other than that and reducing stress, you can’t do a whole lot besides wait it out and enjoy the weight loss at least.

I had a check-up with my surgeon this week and mentioned the hair loss. They said that people take Biotin, etc. and I can try that, but most often, the Hair loss lessens when the weight loss slows down. At this rate, I will be extremely scalpy by the time I am 1 yr post-op. On the upside, I got into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 15 yrs, and I look hot in them (according to my daughters).

It does not matter if it's been posted before or not. A refresher is never bad. Don't ever feel bad about posting a topic that has been discussed before.
    I find this post enlightening

I think nearly everyone who is a "regular" on the forum post-op goes through a period where they get sick of seeing the same posts over and over again. Either you get over it, become more patient, and try to help the newbies or you get fed up and spend less time on the forums. I know I had my own stretch of angst over so many repetitive topics. But I just try to remember we all started somewhere and I had my share of stupid and repetitive posts back in my early days. So I try to suck up the frustration and be as helpful as possible. If it weren't for people being patient with me in the beginning, I never would have gotten to where I am now.

Everyone asks the same questions. If you're an expert on the topic, most questions will seem rote and pointless. Ultimately, it's still going to help to see things re-surfaced from time to time. I, myself, wouldn't even have thought of looking for threads about hair loss because I haven't talked much about it with my surgeon. It's good to know that nothing really fixes it and it does come back.

I was sleeved July, 2014 and I had regrets for the first month. I was dehydrated and had terrible pain. I had to sleep sitting up for a month, then everything changed. As soon as I could sleep laying down I was feeling much better about the surgery. This surgery was the best thing I have ever done. I have been below goal since April, 2015. I have so much energy and I love buying new clothes.

One year ago at this time I was on my way to the operating room to get my sleeve surgery. I was scared and happy at the same time. I knew that once the surgery was done, my life would change forever. I was ready for the change. It was a rocky first 3 weeks. I got dehydrated in the beginning, and had to sleep sitting up for the first 3 weeks. Once I got beyond the 3 week mark everything got so much better. I started my journey at 248 pounds and as of today I am 152. That is 2 pound below my goal and 6 pounds below my surgeons goal. I have maintained my weight between 152 and 154 since the end of April. I was in a size 24 and am now in a size 8/10 pant and medium shirt.
