allielee got a reaction from weightlossdiva1234 in Tip for PRE-OP!
So my tip for pre op is cleaning yourself out day before.. I took 3/4 bottle of Miralax day before surgery (in the morning) .. First surgery where after wards I didn't have Constipation pain or worry about a BM. I started with 1/2 cap full 3 days after surgery and things are going very well. Highly recommend! I take it every day now and wow what a difference in how I feel all around! I'm 6 days post op and down 18 pounds. Hope this helps someone!

allielee got a reaction from dcostella in Oldie but newbie
Hi! I'm an oldie because I had lapband in 2008. I lost all my weight in 9 months and kept it off easily for 5&1/2 years. I even had gotten a Tummy Tuck, breast lift with aug, thigh lift and advanced Lipo and then BAM my worst fear.. It failed me, it had grown in to my stomache and it had to be removed. So they took all the Fluid out and I began the battle to get it out and transferred to bypass. My doctor said almost all the Lapbands are failing after 5 years ( very disappointing!) I had paid in cash for my lapband so trying to get my insurance to pay was a battle, won which I lost. Either way I had to gain 45 pounds to be eligible to get the bypass.. I have a wonderful doctor who gave me a HUGE discount and did the surgery in one swoop. I really wish I had gotten the bypass in 2008! My insurance would have paid for that but not lapband and at the time my hubby was to afraid of the risks of bypass and chose to pay.. Well here I am, I had the surgery on May 21, 2014. Surgery went awesome and I feel awesome. I was discharged 24 hours after surgery! I could have stayed an extra day which I paid for but I felt awesome and wanted to be in my own bed. Every day I have felt better than the day before and as of this morning I am down 16 pounds!!!! I am thrilled with the choice I made and I am excited this hopefully will be my LAST surgery! I'm 44, married for 23 years two daughters 21&22 both graduated college with bachelors and our youngest daughter is 38 weeks pregnant with our first granddaughter! Yipee!!! So that's me in a nut shell! ❤️

allielee got a reaction from FayeJ in Anyone having surgery in May
A quick tip for those who haven't had surgery yet. Day before surgery I took 3/4 bottle of Miralax. Cleaned me right out.. Not having Constipation or worrying about a bm is definitely easier. I remember last surgery I was in agony from constipation. ????

allielee got a reaction from scaredycat69 in Anyone scheduled for May 2014?
Had my revision from lapband to rny yesterday and I am already home and feeling great! Surprised at how little pain I have! I did a bowel prep day before and wonder if that may have helped because this was the easiest surgery I have had to date. Hope everyone is well!

allielee got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Tuna melt cups
Since I haven't eaten bread since I was banded in 2008 I have had a major craving for a tuna melt. I came up with this 3 days and I have eaten 4 for lunch and dinner every day since then lol.
Tuna melt cups
Mini phyllo tart shells (Athena's)
Tuna
Light mayo
American cheese
Just make tuna salad fill cups and put 1/4 slice of American cheese on top and broil.. So yummy and satisfies my tuna melt craving. The shells are 25 calories each so total of 100 calories for shells but well worth it!
