  1. I would have to leave the house. But that's just me.
  2. That's great!!! What does your typical day look like liquid wise while on liquids only? I have 3 Premier Protein shakes. one for Breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner. If I get hungry between meals, I will have broth or sf Popsicle. I drink lots of Water, as well. It's the preop liquid diet that I followed. Except in preop I was supposed to have 4 shakes, but I worried that 120 gms of Protein might be too much.
  3. I have lost a total of 6 pounds since my "reset". I'm really happy I know about this for future stalls! So want to reach my goal by my surgiversary in April!
  4. You can shower, but no bath or pool (or hot tub) for 2 weeks post surgery, according to my post op instructions from my surgery center.
  5. That's right. She first has to help herself. This surgery is just a tool, not a cure. Friendships and marriages end after someone has WLS. I read about it all the time. It's not your fault. Keep doing what's right for you, and keep the positive, uplifting people in your life. Negativity breeds like a cancer, and you don't need the negativity.
  6. Bath or pool...wait 2 weeks.
  7. Maybe we should do this again after Thanksgiving instead of waiting till January.....just to stay on track. I may, anyway.
  8. This is so WILDLY popular it's up to 23 pages now! WOW! and @@Elode is responsible.
  9. @@Elode How is your restriction today? Mine was as tight as after surgery. I love it!
  10. LOVE P3's. they are portioned perfectly!! My favorites are the rotisserie chicken. Sometimes the ham is fatty. Grosses me out to chew ham fat or grissel,
  11. I can fill my sleeve to the brim with cherry or grape tomatoes, I love them THAT much. I have to stay away from them, because when they are in my house I will eat them, and have no room for protein.
  12. @@Ritcheycop Welcome, and I wish you all the best. Like the poster ahead of me stated...the site has tons of good info. Have fun reading! You'll learn a lot!! I did. I made some friends here too.
  13. Corn. Corn is pretty good, I think. I had the sleeve, and I'm 6 months out. I know I have had corn. I don't think there is anything out there i can't have. Maybe some things I shouldn't...so I steer clear of those things. But I don't think a little corn would hurt you. I don't eat any type of bread, so I can't really speak about breads. I fear bread.
  14. @@Elode HEY!! I can take it!! Thanks for being there for me, too!
  15. I found out what "mindless eating" was just this week. I am 6 months post op. The Doc wanted me to jump start my stall, so he had me do 5 days of liquids (like pre-op). I lost about 8 pounds, and now my sleeve has a tight restriction again (YAY). But mostly I realized that I had been mindlessly eating pretzels before this liquid diet. We have a big sams club barrel of pretzels in my kitchen, and I was eating a handful every time I went in there. Not tracking them either. Hence....the stall. Lesson learned!
  16. @@Alex Brecher my role models came from this site, oddly enough. I have friends who have had the surgery but no one as open as the folks I've met on this site.
  17. I'm back to drinking like a normal person, so I have no problem drinking. Early on, I sipped all the time, and I also kept Water with me at all times. I sipped all the time. In the car, at work, on walks...all the time. It's a challenge, but it's necessary. I got a couple of those Nalgene bottles with measurements on it, so it was easy to measure out how much water I was getting in.. Now I just judge by the ounces on my Ozarka water bottles.
  18. @@hollybower I was 32 when I had my radical hyster. I was on HRT till I had surgery when I was 53. I stopped it on my own. Only issue I have is vag dryness. The HRT is a cancer causer, and I don't want any of that in my body anymore. There is always KY to help with my problem.
  19. my sleeve is like brand new after the week of liquids. I'm back to tablespoons of food again.
  20. A friend of mine told me a great idea the other day I had not considered, and that is when you go to a grocery store salad bar, they have grilled chicken. You can get their dressing cup (4 ounces) and fill it with the chicken. BAM! 4 ounces of Protein for about 35 cents!
  21. P3's, Triple 0 Greek yogurt, canned chili. (homemade chili -keeps well in the freezer!!)
  22. @@Babbs @@Elode Count me in. Don't start without me!
  23. This was a heartbreaking thread to me. You are so relevant I can't even begin to explain why I believe that. The fact that newbies have behaved so harshly due to thin skin (or whatever) that the folks with all the experience, and all the knowledge are considering allowing themselves to be pushed out. I need you, vets. I am only 6 months post op, and I have totally enjoyed getting to know all of you, either from my posts or from reading others that you reply to. I also read through the threads of newbies who want to be "assured" that is it "ok" to eat that pizza and ice cream on the way home from the hospital from being freshly sleeved. I am not a vet by any means, but I have to roll my eyes, and at times I have to comment because the questions are (at times) insane to me. You are relevant, and I need you!
  24. @@sammie.1965 I feel badly that you want to leave the site. These folks are really good people, with concerns. If that is on your approved list, great! These folks just care, and sometimes it may come across as something else. I've been around the site a long time, and everyone is so wonderful. It's a truly great resource and a great support group. Give the site another chance, and I hope you find it more helpful than hurtful. All the best to you.
