  1. When nothing sounds good to me, I always have a few P3's in the fridge, so I just have one of those. 180 cals, 13 gms Protein, 3 carbs. meat, cheese and nuts.
  2. @@laguerr13 Interesting theory. You are probably right.
  3. It has to be verified by the physician that the patient met with the Dr every month for 6 months, without fail. So, no way to fake it. And why would your friend want to? It's really a part of the process that is "necessary", and truly, the wait seemed long, but it really wasn't. As I look back, I regret nothing. Me being a rule follower is something the Psych honed in on, and made me a perfect candidate for the surgery. A cheater will likely fail, just my 2 cents.
  4. LIMIT DAIRY!! Are you on regular foods yet? cheese and milk, etc "hidden fats". Once I focused on meat Proteins and not dairy proteins I was able to break my stalls. I have dairy still, just not every day.
  5. Pre-op I loved the chocolate Premier Protein shakes (Sams club) Now I prefer the Premier Protein shakes in Vanilla.

  7. If I won the Power Ball I would totally do it, too!! So excited for you @@proudgrammy Can't wait for the pics like everyone else. You were already stunning.....so the end result will be out of this world beautiful.
  8. There wasn't anything good on TV tonight. This entertained me for a while though. I just can't imagine jumping into surgery 2 weeks after you hear about it. That, in my opinion, is irresponsible. Wishing everyone the best.
  9. I believe I would fail. I've lost weight prior to surgery, but gained it back, and I really believe I am one who need the restriction for longer than 6 months. But, that's just me. I hope it works for others. That would be awesome.
  10. Get one of those pill reminder things from your pharmacy. Mine has 4 slots with snap shut lids. Three for calcium and one for the multi chewable. And I take the first multi chewable upon waking, with an omeprazole. Then the Calcium 2 hours later, and 2 or 2.5 hours I take another calcium chew, and so on. And I take my 2nd Omeprazole with my last pill section of the pill reminder thingy. Just space them out every 2 hours or so as Atontor states above. It's really not a big deal. Don't let that be your deal breaker. It is the greatest thing I have ever done for my health.
  11. I kept my bariatric notebook that I got from my bariatric team on my dining room table so I could see what I could have at each phase. It's not really that tough. You'll be fine.
  12. @@The Candidate So excited for you! Don't let the first couple of days get you down...it gets better every day. Sending healing vibes your way!
  13. Well...not much in this forum...but I vote YES to Oscar Meyer P3 snacks for my lunches at work!!
  14. Happy belated birthday, and congratulations on the decision to live a long healthy life with many more birthdays!
  15. My surgery and recovery went amazingly well, as did everyone I know who had it. (and I know A LOT of people who have had it). If you are going to a Bariatric Center of Excellence, you are in good hands. I was out walking 3-5 miles per day a week post op!
  16. My EGD was done after approval for surgery, and two weeks prior to surgery...in case of H-Pylori, and the need to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks if I had had H-pylori (which I didn't). Good luck!
  17. If you like the taste of Jello, I like to do this.....I mix up 1 pkg of sugar free jello with a cup of hot Water and stir till the jello is dissolved. Then slowly mix it into a cup of plain Greek yogurt and then refrigerate it. The texture is like "whipped" yogurt and the flavor is amazing! My favorites are lemon and peach. Orange is good too.
  18. I was super hungry too, up until my 3rd month. I never gave in to the hunger..I weighed and measured, and ate only my 3 meals per my NUT's instructions, and then one day, out of the blue, I stopped being hungry. It was an actual "moment" when I noticed the hungry went away. I discussed it with my psych, and he said I was right on track, and it was perfectly normal. So, hang in there, it will resolve itself. Just do what your NUT advises.
  19. Surgery date 4/23/15, HIgh weight 273, current weight 215. Down 58 pounds!!!!
  20. Thank you ladies, I appreciate the comments. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me.
  21. I wish I had diarrhea. Constipation seems to be my thing.
  22. the "shoes" had nothing to do with my big butt. But now that I've lost weight, I have no butt at all....so there's that. lol
