  1. I hit a plateau at about 2 weeks and my scale didn't move for close to a month. I bounced up and down one pound for that entire time. My body continued to change. My surgeon said that is completely normal and don't worry about the number; be aware of the changes. The number will catch up in time. He was right. My advice is to follow the rules they've set for you. Success depends in it.
  2. I had the RNY while a few of my friends had the sleeve. Honestly our lives are very similar. In the long term the sleeve patients can eat a little more quantity. (I mean a little). We've compared everything as we go through stages. Our insides are different but our lifestyle changes have been the same. Good luck!
  3. Thank you Kindle. I'll look for that.
  4. Thank you. I'll try that. I'm trying to eat. I'm getting quite a bit of Water in. I'm eating tuna, cottage cheese , ricotta cheese, and about 1/2 a yogurt. I can't find a powder Protein without whey. I was doing well when I could use the protein powders. My protein was 40 today.
  5. I'm having a heck of a time getting calories in. I ended up with a whey protein issue three days before I moved to puréed food. I feel like I'm eating all the time but barely hitting 350 calories. I'm 3 weeks out on Monday.
  6. Good luck and positive energies sent your way. This is such an exciting journey!
  7. Ahh this is another instance where my program may be a bit different than others. My stage 3/ puréed stage consists of cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, fish or chicken canned. Fruits and veggies as long as they are the consistency of baby food. It's interesting how different each programs requirements are.
  8. I have been extremely worried about transitioning. I was cleared for puréed food on Tuesday. I have tried cottage cheese and hummus. I want to try tuna but have been afraid. I didn't realize how hard some of this can be mentally. Thank you for this post.

    Next up- Nutritionist and psych

Lol. I don't think you can "flunk " per se. It's really just a way to make sure you are ready for this huge change mentally. My psych eval seemed almost like a quiz on what I had learned in my nutritional appts. I have to admit the last three questions were odd to me. 1. Who is our president. 2. How many quarters in a dollar. 3. Is Mickey Mouse a mouse, dog, or cat?
  10. I'm so afraid of the throwing up. I haven't yet.
  11. I talked to my surgeon and he thinks things will be better after I get on puréed food. (Which is tomorrow after my two week follow up). I'm ready, I feel tired with no real calories coming in.
  12. I began having a lot more rumblings in my stomach yesterday which has been followed by diarrhea. It's been over 24 hours with no relief. Everything goes right through me. No stomachache or anything. I'm worried about dehydration. Tried a small amount of Imodium with no results. I'm not sure if I'm over worrying or if I should call the doctor.
  13. It may have been because your stomach was empty. I notice I'm pretty gurgly when I wake up. I keep water by my he'd and sip through the night.

    Unjury Unflavored

I just received my unjury powders. I thought it would help with my growing aversion to protein powders but I still smell the protein. I tried the vanilla with an orange sugar free kool aid. It was dreamcicle flavor. I liked the chicken soup but worried about the sodium content. I noticed the unflavored didn't stay mixed in clear liquids. Kept settling to the bottom.

    April 21st surgery

How are you all doing, April 21sters. I had mine on the 21st too. It's so interesting how different each of our surgeons handle the diets and surgery. I feel pretty good but tire out easily. I'm so sick of the sweet drinks. I like herb ox broths. It's the only thing not sweet. I think I get cleared for puréed food at my two week follow up. I can't wait. What has been your go to drinks is past week?
