Hehe, you'll be fine. It will all be fine.
When I was running around the house with all that nervous energy - I decided to clean it. Burnt off all the energy and ensured I came home to a nice sparkly clean place.
    I was glad I did!
Best of luck for tomorrow and keep us updated.

You are gonna do amazingly well. Mind over matter. Go into this knowing your gonna come out of this on the losers bench. I was in your spot almost two months ago. I was scared, nervous. In another country alone. It was a trip, no doubt. I would not change one thing about the whole experience. Good luck and prayers are coming your way. Keep us posted.
    Happy Losing,

CrisH64 reacted to heather03 in Who do I tell? Is it ok to only tell a couple people?
I'm only 3 weeks out, but the only person who knows is my husband. And he is the only person I plan on having know. I do not plan to tell anyone else (unless it is medically necessary). I'm not telling my friends, family, or coworkers. It's my business, and no one needs to know. I will field and deflect the questions as they come without revealing that I had the surgery. I'm counting calories ("Yeah, there's this great app called MyFitnessPal that helps me track everything - you should try it! So, how have you been...how's your mother/kid/job/etc.?"), working out every day, eating smaller portions, drinking more Water, and making better food choices. That's all they'll ever need to know. If they ask me point-blank, I'm prepared to lie. I know a lot of people have issue with that, but I don't. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's my choice, my journey, and my life. Just my two cents...

I love your post! My surgery is day after tomorrow (Thursday), I'm a nervous wreck (the unknown), excited (new life), and going back and forth with myself, and whether I am making the right decision for me. I started out 6 months ago at 233 pounds, which was my highest weight. I am now a couple days away from my surgery and I weigh 206 pounds, I am 5' 1", and carry it very well, so at times people say, " you are not big enough for surgery", or "you can do this on your own, you're taking the easy way out". I've tried, and I can lose weight but I always gain it back always. Let me get to my point, I can go on forever! You said you have gone from a size 20 to a size 6, my highest size was a 22 women and 2x to 3x, I think that's pretty large for someone my height, but in saying all of that, I just want to thank you for your post it makes me feel better, and not feel guilty or selfish for taking advantage of this surgery. I can't even imagine wearing a size 6!

I'm scheduled for May 8th. Nerves are all over the place! Been on pre op diet since April 25th, and have lost 7lbs, trying to make it to Thursday, just get lightheaded at times, drinking Vitamin Water zero for electrolytes. "I really can't believe I'm doing this", which from what I've read, goes through most everyone's mind. I pray for all of us who take this bold step! Sending positive thoughts your way!

I will be 5 months on May 11th, so far to my face I have only had one person say that to me, it took everything I had not to punch her in the face,.. she is stupid & ignorant because she made a stupid uneducated comment like we all have done in our life...
Look I know this isn't the easy way out and really don't care what anyone else says... I didn't do it for them, I did it for me, and that is the only opinion that I care about anymore (well and my husbands LOL)
All of us "sleevers" know what we have had to go through to get here, WE ALL KNOW this wasn't the easy way - it was the only way... this is what WE had to do to get healthy. And if our family/friends/coworkers don't understand it, that fine - they don't have to cause its not their life... we all have had to deal with the negativity of being over weight... now we are being judged for trying to get healthy - people are just so ignorant... I am down ALMOST 75 lbs... I couldn't be happier!! I am fitting into clothes that haven't fit in 10 years... easy or not... NO ONE can take that away from me... Cause I wont let anyone have that power over me ever again - I wish you all the happiness in the world with your new tummy!!! your sleeve family will be here judgment free! (because we all took the easy way HAHHAHA!!!)

C'mon......it's just the idea of people not understanding the whole story that is really bugging us about that "Easy" crack.
In truth, losing the weight is easier than any efforts I made before......not to mention I'm actually changing my lifestyle and eating healthy this time.
OK, OK..... I know there is the whole "life risking" surgery thing and recovery pain and mini meals and no gulping and tenny bites and chewing endlessly and loss of taste and and and. Plus there is still that reality that I have to change my eating habits to eat less......and healthy and exercise and take Vitamins and pretty much everything that any other weight loss would entail........So where is the easy part.
Who cares what anybody says or thinks. You not going to change their minds or way of thinking.
All I care about is reaching my goal and regaining my health and my life. Convincing others of how I got there is of no consequence. When someone comments to me about the Easy way out.....I just say....."Yep, I shoulda done it years ago"

I am currently 245lbs and 5-3 and am scheduled for surgery on 6/25. I have used the last few months to change some of my poor eating habits but have only lost about 6 lbs. I am 58 years old and am more convinced that this type of surgery is the only way I will ever be able to lose the 75 lbs I want to lose and keep it off. I have been the smallest of all the people in my nutritionist or surgeon's office but I believe that each individual has their own ideal weight where they look and feel at their optima. I don't care about what some chart tells me, no one knows their body better than themselves. I am tired of people telling me, "you should be able to lose this weight without having this drastic surgery". However, over the past 20 years, I have not been able to lose more than 20 lbs and keep it off. So, my decision was supported by my surgeon and my husband who has watched me battle this demon since he met me. I don't care about a little discomfort or being deprived for a few weeks since I've been dealing with discomfort for a lot longer not having the surgery. I only wish I didn't' have to wait until the end of June.
Best wishes to you and please keep posting about your progress.

Wow I'm happy I found you guys. I am in the same boat. I started at 202 and have been on the preop diet for 6 days but I have gained 4 lbs, not sure how that happened. I am 5'2 and always have people tell me I'm not big enough to be considering this. Well I have sleep apnea, gerd, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a hiatal hernia. So people have no idea how I suffer everyday with all these weight related issue. I feel like crap everyday and have little to no energy. Don't let anyone discourage you. You will be ok. I would love to here update on your surgery and recovery. I have 2 weeks to go. I'm not in the "I'm not hungry phase though". I'm still always hungry which is why I know I need this sleeve. liquid diet has helped me none.

Hey yummy mummy... I eat everything now, except for sugar, and my body hates a lot of fried food. I do eat baked salmon, baked tilapia, chicken (fried, baked, grilled) just very small amounts. I don't indulge in any deserts however I might have a piece a chocolate every once in awhile.
I do exercise 6-7 days a week for at least 30-45 minutes. Sometimes two a days. I jog on treadmill at home,, go to the gym and use elliptical or bicycle.
But at 1 month out I walked on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes and did 2 miles a day. I gradually worked myself up to a jog after my body said it was ok. Listen to your body and if you don't have a treadmill start walking outside on a trail or in the park.
I went from a size tight16- loose 6... I'm here to help in any way

So yesterday i went to one of my hairdressers that i haven't been to since about a month and a half before surgery. Immediately after i said hello, She was like OMG, You have lost alot of weight. then continues to say, you're about the size you were when i first started doing your hair about 5 years ago. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! What... did she say that? i'm all smiles over here. So i'm leaving work early today and won't return here on site for over a month. Many people here says daily or no less than every other day about how much weight i've lost, how good i look, or asking how much weight lost, etc. I'll be out of town on buisness for 2 weeks, go on vacation for a week, then back out of town for another week or two. SO when i return back at my site hummmm, let's say at least June 2nd, Wonder what look, questions, or wise remarks that i will get? Lol, What do you think?

And of course the weight is falling off on a liqud diet, but a liquid diet is not sustainable long term. After surgery when you are full after a few bites, that is something you can manage long term and the real weight loss will begin.
