Biggy got a reaction from KeeWee in April 14th!
First and foremost sorry for the late response since i haven't logged in, in a while..... 30 pounds sounds great to me and that's no reason to get discouraged... I know that you can see the difference b/c I can and that's what motivates me... please try and not to feel bad. I'm 27 and was thinking about how much I miss to go out and eat with my family. I know how it's much harder for a woman if you have feed kids. In terms of your daily Protein, have you tried the pure Protein shake that they in both Walmart and shoprite? They have 23 grams of protein and I try to take 2 of those but what really helps me out a lot is a protein chicken Soup by unsure. The Soup tastes just like chicken soup and has 20 grams of protein, which brings the protein count to 66 grams plus a greek yogurt 12 more to a whopping total of 78 grams......(takes obviously 2 sittings since we only do 3 oz at a time)... In terms of Water I'm never able to take down all of the Water required and I was told by a friend that I should my best to do it since it helps with the weight loss. I began exercising this week and the days that I do I find myself drinking more than often. I hope that this helped a little Erin.......
*I know that it is difficult but stay strong and remember we're doing this for ourselves and for our family and we can it.....keep your head up..

I'm on day 5 post op and missing the pizza like crazy. I'm thought about plenty of the foods that I'm missing and loving the fact that many of you are saying how you can actually eat homemade stye pizza which is great for me. Can't wait until that day comes...hehhe 8-)

Okay.. here goes. I am three months post op and today marked my 50 lb loss since I started this journey.
I am sooooooo happy with the success and love my new lifestyle. I am more energetic and just getting started.
The picture with the blue top was a little over a year ago and the one with the little boy (my youngest grandson) was Easter Sunday a couple weeks ago.

Hi everyone well I am 15 days post op on stage 3 diet pureed foods which my nut has me eating ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, chobani plain yogurt and isopure... I am down exactly 30 lbs today I started at 269 I'm at 239 today but I am really discouraged I miss eating dinners with my family and not feeling like I need to avoid things. I have absolutely no hunger at all but I'm pushing myself to get 70 Protein I'm lucky if I get 50 now. I'm 24 and I just want to cry because I knew this was hard but I never expected it to be this emotionally difficult. I feel like I spent my life eating when I wasn't hungry which is why I had to have this surgery but now I'm not hungry and don't want food and I have to push this food down. I never really ate dairy because it made me sick now everything is dairy and I'm struggling.
Please help I don't know what to do..

My check in report is that I am doing really well overall! Learning to eat small bites and chew slower is the hardest part. Never had a bit of nausea, and very little pain overall. I'm able to eat small amounts of soft food and mix it up with at least one 30g Protein Drink a day. So for me it's been runny oatmeal with Protein powder mixed in, Soups, stews, eggs, soft cooked veggies etc...I feel good and was back to work day 7 post op. Work keeps me busy and mind off food, and I find head hunger is much harder on the weekend.I'm loosing slowly and other than rashes from the incision steri strip glue, I've had no big issues.I'm so grateful for the opportunity to finally have a fighting chance to shed the extra pounds for good! Let's hear from the rest of the 14ers

Hello everyone. Daughter and I were sleeved on the 14th. First 3-4 days was really rough but feeling pretty normal these days. Was working from home but physically went into the office on Tuesday and boy did I feel a difference then peddling around at home at my own pace. We did a nice family walk today but for some reason I felt excessively tired and drained. Didn't get much in today in terms of food maybe that was the culprit but all in all I'm happy we embarked on this VSG journey. This new tiny tummy took some getting use to and I'm still learning to use it. It's like 3 bites and I'm stuffed. Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm just now getting to where I can tolerate much of anything.
For Breakfast I have a Protein shake
    Water in between
snack - boiled egg or cottage cheese (like 3 bites is all I can do)
    Water
lunch - Protein Shake (usually the rest of what I couldn't finish at breakfast)
    Water
Snack - today I tried edamame and it was delicious.
    Water
    Supper - tuna or talapia
I'm getting maybe 500-600 calories in each day.
I've been really focusing on Protein because I've had a really hard time getting in more than 35g each day. The last 2 days have been better. But then my water intake suffers because I'm so full. I have to make myself drink and/or eat. I have yet to feel hungry.

How are all the 4/14 sleevers doing? I'm feeling great, but my loss has stalled out for some reason. It's incredibly frustrating. I've lost 11lbs since my surgery date for a total of 31lbs, but I don't know why the scale hasn't moved in over a week. I'm following orders and trying to get all my Protein and liquid in but it's difficult. I look forward to hearing from others.

Hello! I had my surgery 5 days before you and I know EXACTLY how you feel. No worries, you didnt stretch your stomach and you WILL begin to lose weight again VERY soon. My first two weeks on moist foods was the worst becasue i lost only about 3 pounds in two weeks. Then all of a sudden last week i saw a HUGE weightloss of 5 lbs in one week. I'm gradually eating more than i was the first two weeks and I feel like it may be possible that my body was just in a "starvation" mode and actually eating more may be causing me to lose weight. Make sure you excercise too. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and it seems to be speeding up my progress as well. Your stall will be over soon so hang in there:)

How is this possible? I had 465 calories today. Yesterday was 320.
I'm terrified that I'm hungry. I thought I would not feel this again...or at least not so soon.
I'd give anything for a Peanut Butter sandwich. Am I just crazy?

Search for 3 week stall on the forums. About a million posts will come up. Your body is adjusting, and most of our bodies seem to pick right around this time for the first "stall." Don't worry.

Every case is different. I was sleeved on Monday as well and I feel perfectly fine today. In fact I went to the barber since I looked like Chewbacca from Star Wars. This afternoon, I plan to even go to the gym just to walk keeping in mind to over do it. I have had my regrets like everyone else, however I am already beginning to see changes and feeling good about them.

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm 11 days out and am sort of following in your footsteps. Seeing that I've had a really bad week, it's really
encouraging to see that even with all the pain and frustration that I'll hopefully feel really good in a few short weeks. Again, thanks so much!

    Hello all -
I know several of us are hitting our 1 month mark this week. Mine is today.
The body is an incredible thing, truly. It's a healing machine quite frankly.
At one and two weeks out:
-you wonder what you have done to yourself and you are pretty sure you will never feel quite normal again
-you can't imagine yourself ever sleeping anywhere but the living room recliner
-the thought of driving or going back to work seems like an unrealistic commitment you made Way Back Before Surgery
-you can get in so little Water and Protein that it dawns on you that THESE are the weeks that will cause Hair loss several months from now
-you learn what "sliming" is (ewwww)
-MyFitnessPal tells you repeatedly: "You are getting too few calories. If every day were like today, you would be DEAD in 5 weeks."
    At three weeks out:
-you feel better but not really there yet
-you need extra naps on the weekend
-getting in your water and protein can be done with the effort of a full time job
-you have a strange painful stitch in your side that you've resigned yourself to bravely live with the rest of your life
-you accidentally sleep all night with the heating pad on your largest incision site on its highest setting
-you walk 20 minutes on the treadmill and then come onto this site and disbelievingly post, "WHEN did they say I should start exercising????"
-your body decides you must be on a grueling episode of Survivor and goes into starvation mode yielding the world's most devastating weight loss stall prompting you to decide that you are a failure and did this all for NOTHING
    At four weeks out:
-you sleep in your own bed in whatever position you want
-the fire-hazardous heating pad gets put away
-you walk 2+ miles at lunch and think maybe you could have done more
-you have enough energy to really start cleaning the house again and get totally aggravated at hubby and kids for how little they managed to do for the past month
-you randomly feel happy, mad, silly, sad as hormones and emotions take their toll
-you have to pack up the first set of clothes which are now too big
    -you feel healthy....dare I say...normal?
Yep, the first month is kind of amazing.

Biggy reacted to Pamalamb in Day 3 and so uncomfortable!
This is my first post. I was sleeved on Tuesday, April 14. My experience has been so different. I do have soreness in my abdomen, but that is about it. I have pain meds which I take when I start to get uncomfortable. I have not had problems getting the liquids in, but I also have the pain when I swallow. I have just assumed I was taking too big of a swallow. When I take smaller sips, it does not occur. I was also able to walk almost a mile today. (Not all at once, but that is what my fitbit recorded by the end of the day.)
I am shocked at how much less pain is involved than I expected. I am considering going back to work at one week. It is amazing to me. I am so glad I did this. My health was deteriorating fast and my family was suffering for it. I absolutely could not do it on my own. I am sure others also tried every diet until despair made me just stop trying. I have been silently absorbing everyone's experiences over the last few months and it has been so helpful.
