  1. I'm on MyFitnessPal every day so feel free to add me, because I'm going to add all of you! I'm AngryViking1970 over there...
  2. Yeah, I've stalled out since Thanksgiving, although I do notice I'm losing inches. I get it and I know what's happening, even though it's still frustrating. The worst part is my husband thinking he knows exactly why the scale isn't moving. No, honey, you don't know, but thanks.

    Feeling AWudjpWNCLGhb,duos,fn!

If someone could just come to my house while I'm at work and wash, dry, fold and put away alllll of the laundry that's piling up, I would be eternally grateful.
  4. Yaassss! When I was a kid my brother and I would schmear PB on a slice of bologna, roll it up and eat just like that. A lot of them. And PB and bacon is amazing.

"You took the easy way out"

I've gotten pretty positive responses from the few people I've given a straight answer to what they've asked "what are you doing?". Mostly along the lines of 'good for you'. And you know what? It IS good for me. People who are trying to get healthy and lose weight are basically all headed to the same destination. If my path is different from yours, what does that matter? What is important to me is that I finally got right with myself and loved myself enough to take that first step.
  6. Great list; looks very similar to my own at this point! I love to take peel and eat shrimp with a little cocktail sauce to work for lunch. My co-workers think I'm fancy. Which I am.
  7. I'll play! 1. My son. He is the light of my life. 2. My husband. His default setting is "pain in the ass" but I am so loved and supported and cared for that I can't imagine my life without him. 3. My little house in the woods. It's a fixer-upper (if I'm being kind), and some days I wish I lived anywhere but there, but I have a roof over my head and it's mine. 4. My leisure time. A luxury to be sure, and something that not everyone has and can enjoy. I appreciate every moment I can take for myself. 4. My (improved) health. I feel better than I have in years.
  8. I'm still pretty new, but here's what I learned: 1. Drink your Water. And then drink some more. You cannot overstate how important staying hydrated really is. 2. Be smart. You know that eating something not on your plan (chips and salsa at 2 weeks, anyone?) is a bad idea. Follow your team's plan. 3. Get off your butt. 4. Don't panic if the scale doesn't move for a day. Or a week. Or even several weeks. Give your body a chance to catch up to you. The scale will move again. Trust. 5. Give yourself a break. Your path is yours alone; follow it and take in the sights. Enjoy the process and your accomplishments along the way. My fave quote? "Comparison is the thief of joy"
  9. My fingers are crossed that this actually works... I don't know what you're looking to pay and I don't know what's fair. LOL Maybe $75 for the pea coat and $40 for the brown jacket? Let me know what you think. Make me an offer!
  10. I have a couple that may work for you, both purchased new this past year. One is a brown Esprit quilt jacket with a hood. It's a 3x and was plenty big for me last winter even with bulky sweaters underneath. I also have a red wool London Fog dress coat, I think also a 3x. It's beautiful. LOL I wore that one only a handful of times. Let me know if you're interested and I can post some pictures later.

    Embarassing question

Urinary incontinence is a comorbidity of obesity. I'd be surprised if he didn't ask.
  12. Struggle. The struggle is real, people! LOL Seriously though, this is "my ride". And I'm enjoying it.

    What's for breakfast?

Today I had a 1/2c. of overnight oats (this one: https://dashingdish.com/recipe/carrot-cake-overnight-protein-oatmeal/) which has 12 gms of Protein and was super delicious and filling. And coffee. Most days I have Greek yogurt with some kind of crunchy mix-in, like All Bran or Cheerios. And coffee. Weekends is usually a cheese omelet or protein pancakes with turkey bacon. And coffee.

    Where To Start?

I went to see the surgeon first. I didn't even have a PCP at that time.

    Quest Bars?

White chocolate raspberry is my favorite by far. I also like cookie dough and vanilla almond. I can't eat a whole one, though. Something about all that fiber/protein at one time makes me nauseous.

    What’s Your Halloween Plan?

I'm planning to have one or two fun size candy bars from my son's bag and move on. It's not going to kill me and I don't feel bad about it.
  18. I went the decaf route post-surgery for approximately 1 week and I hated it. I went back to the high test after that and now I drink 2 cups of coffee every morning. I love it so.
  19. A few cheese fries from my son's basket last weekend at an outdoor fair. They were delicious and I regret nothing.

Do you make a shopping list?

I have a running list on the fridge, too. And once a week (or every two weeks) I plan out dinner menus for the next however many days and add to the list whatever I need to make those meals.

    the bakers thread

@@LumpySpacePrincess, is the EZ Sweets liquid a 1:1 ratio for the sugar? I've been using Truvia baking blend and the results are less than stellar. Not bad exactly, just not good. I want to make a pumpkin bread, but I'll be really disappointed if I end up throwing most of it away like the other stuff I've made recently.

    Just dance

I love Just Dance! My son and I do it together. We get both a good workout and some good laughs at the same time.
  24. I drink Water all day and carry a bottle wherever I go, so that takes care of the fluids. I use MFP to track what I'm eating and my Protein intake. And at this point, the Vitamins are like second nature: multis and D3 in the AM, calcium at lunch and calcium and B12 before bed.

If you love it so much, why don't you MARRY it!?!?

Love edamame. Looove it. PictSweet makes a steamable bag with sea salt that I adore. There may or may not be 4 or 5 bags in my freezer right now.
