    yes, you are a wimp
    only kidding bud
it sounds like you are having an ok recovery??
no major problems?? normal side effects PO??
just saying how amazed you are about some other people doing this and that early PO (marathons etc???) <_<LOL
i read many posts too about people having surgery - feeling great immediately
    no problems
WLS on friday back to work on monday no prob
one girl had surgery out of state - and drove home 4 hours PO (i don't think she had a choice no other transportation available)
i did have simple normal side effects PO
exhausted, weak, little trouble drinking for awhile
definitely not able to walk around for distance
couldn't do any minor housework (that didn't bother me )
hubby surprised me and stepped up to the plate
there are people that have no problems PO and can get back to normal life almost immediately
I just wasn't one of them - but i still consider myself as having an ok recovery
if you are a wimp - then i am too!!! (many others are wimpettes also!! )
    continued good recovery

    Hello,
I have seen the posts myself, "hey one week out and training for a marathon". LOL Anyway, I do not feel like I am a wimp. I never really complain, never get sick. That being said I felt like crap after this surgery for over 5 solid weeks. Couldn't get any Water in at first and zero Protein. Five weeks out I was barely getting 16oz of Water in. Now at almost 2 months I get 48oz and occasionally make it to 64oz. It is a process, some take longer and some seem able to get in their water and Protein right away. My doctor says walking only for 2 months, nothing else. My doctor is way more concerned about water than about protein for the first two months, we were not even given a protein amount. Just a guideline on what to eat. I have my 2 month appt. on Friday and I will see what I am told then.

I had pain for 5 1/2 weeks, quite a lot of pain and I am no wimp. Not sure what happened with me but I am good now. Everyone is different but "most" people seem to feel well after a week or so. Best of luck to you.

I'm 5 weeks out and I am not eating tons of Protein and walking miles a day. I just started foods this week and I'm suppose to eat 6 times a day and drink 48oz of fluid..or more. I eat 4 times a day and drink about 40oz of Fluid. I fight the fight everyday. I walk about 2 to 3 times a day on the weekends and just got okayed to clean the house. This still exhausts me....I could nap all weekend to be honest. Weekdays...just started back to work. I make dinner for my son....eat my 1/4 to 1/2 cup of protein with tiny bits of veggies and I'm ready to sleep. SO TIRED. I think this is more of the norm. More power to those who can do more. But this is my reality....no mile walks for me for a little while longer, I'm sure! I do the best I can each day and I pray the next day will be easier.....it's all I can do. I'm getting there!

I have had stalls right on along, one week, then drop 4 pounds. Eight days then drop 5. Everyone is different but I stall out quite a bit. I just may be that type of loser where I just lose in chunks not days.

Being only 19 years old and a month post op, I realize that there are a lot of things that I will not be able to do anymore.
Take shots on my 21st birthday, drink soda, enjoy a drink with my dinner, and others. Some of my friends that know were worried for me before the surgery because of these factors. And yes these are things I will not be able to do, but everything comes with a price. In my case, all the things that I gain from this surgery completely outweigh those that I am unable to do. I now can have more confidence in myself, have a smaller chance of developing heart problems, have a smaller chance of developing diabetes, be truly healthy for the first time since I was young, I can buy smaller clothes, I can buy clothes is sizes that don't have an X next to it, I can eventually wear a bathing suit comfortably, I can finally stop the excuses of why I haven't lost the weight, I can love my body, and I can stop feeling like I am wasting my "glory years" by being overweight. These are only a few of the things that I have and will gain from this surgery, and I could not be more content. For anyone who is on the fence about this surgery, yes there are disadvantages and life changes that need to be made, but it can also give you your life back. After years, I am finally going to love everything about myself, including my body.
