What We Don't Want To Hear

This original post is one, no, IS my all time favorite. I will be reading it again, along with everyone's replies. We are all different , but this article speaks right to me. Thank you for posting!!!
  2. My BMI was 36.6 barely over the threshold and, I did add about four pounds in the early months to make sure I was close. Each test I had, I prayed for a comorbidity. (Sounds so crazy). Each test came back darn good. A brother though, had survived a heart attack, and parents had some diabetic type issues. I had sore joints and a long history of slow and steady weight gain. My insurance approved with 48 hours. I felt like I won the lottery. So, muster up all the familial medical issues to document on your medical history and don't give up!! Good luck!

When will the main incision STOP hurting!?

I had adhesions or scar tissue type things that grew and pulled. Lower right area was pretty bad. Had I done some twists and turns I likely could have knocked em loose and saved myself 6 weeks of unpredictable sharp pains. I thought it was normal but it was a result of c-sections, and hysterectomy surgeries and the way my body reacted to more in body invasions.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I am 5', 8 months post op. Down 40 lbs. started around 180. I am struggling to hit below 139. Best thing I ever did. I was approved for surgery by insurance so was crazy lucky. It is not a cure, as you have heard, but a truly wonderful tool. I have avoided posting as my success has ground to a halt, but, eating healthy really does make everything so much better. Exercise too, and good sleep. I have had work drama lately and have reverted to some old bad eating habits. I am glad I checked in tonight... I look forward to hearing how your new life goes for you guys. Best wishes!!!

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

I was lower on the BMI scale but was fortunate that surgery was covered by insurance. I am 8 months post op. I began at 180 and am about 142. I am 5' tall. I feel "tons" better physical, emotionally and socially. It was the best thing for me. I still have to lose and it is slow going, but exercise and eating well are more the norm than the exception!

  10. I bought a bag of dog food today that was the same amount of weight as what I have lost since surgery 9/22. It was great to have that kind of a tangible object in my arms to realize what I have lost. It made me that much more motivated to rev things up a bit.
  11. I think having a little bit of that fear is good... Helps to keep you more vigilant and wanting to not make this work. My very best wishes to those of you getting sleeve this month. I don't think you will regret it!
  12. I enjoyed the posts for persons who are around 5'5" and would love to see responses from the shorter crowd! I am 5', in the morning. I have been heavy so long I have lost perspective on what I should weigh and what it looks like!!!
  13. My hair fell out for three months. I has just recently slowed
  14. Just hang in there!! Use the stall time to reinforce good eating habits and better life activities. If you aren't losing weight, unclutter your environment. Clean up the pantry, straighten the linen closet .... Honest, I lose 2 pounds a month since November. If it weren't for these other activities, I would go mad!! Mad, I tell ha!!
