So I'm on my way to the hospital for an emergency removal. After 6 years and 7 months of banding. It's a case of a second slip ( 1st was march 2011). Sad to loose my band, but looking forward to not being in constant pain.

Don't borrow trouble I had my band slip and was so worried about it. As it turns out I was one of the people who a simple defill worked on. My surgeon defilled me completely, put me on protonix which actually helps heal any damage acid has done in your stomach. And then two months later I started back to small, slow fills.
My slip was found because of all the acid reflux / gerd and just plain uncomfortableness. So I had an endoscopy- which found minor ulceration and a small slip.
    Hang in there

I couldn't agree with you more. The further out I've gotten the more lax I got about those check ups. Then I got into trouble with a slip a few years ago. Got to green again and got lax. Now I'm back on schedule with things.
Something my new fill dr told me was to do the cottage cheese pouch test once a month just to test my levels. I never really thought about doing it on a regular basis as I've only done it when I thought I needed one. And then, well sometimes it's overdue.
I feel for you in that waiting for an overdue fill. I find it best to exercise, chew sugar free gum and keep as busy as possible. Working out actually naturally tightens my band a little- it wears off quickly, but helps in the short term hour area.

I admit my bariatric team was very bypass focused, even support group wise. (Now I think they're more sleeve focused). And years ago I learned so much here in '07. At the time a lot of people on here were being banded in Mexico so this was their main support group.
I remember the first time I vomited. I thought I was going to die- stomach flu. And I was never one to like vomiting ever. And that episode of the flu led to my slip. I knew something was off. And I was in to see the surgeon as soon as they could take me- in that meantime liquids only.
And I admit I've fallen off the wagon- well gained weight. But I got a fill- discovered some was missing from last year, and am getting back on track now. I came back to lbt- which has been better than any in person support group I've had.
I'm back in the green zone with my fill and weight is coming off again.
My BF has a bypass and living with him can be a challenge as he's not had to work as hard to keep his weight in check. He doesn't have follow-ups on a time table and other than one complication has been good. We have friends with sleeves and bypasses and two with the switch who have all done well. Granted one with the switch requires Iron infusions on a regular basis but has been at her goal for two years now. I'm the only one who has to exercise and watch closely what I eat. And I follow up as much as my friend with the Iron infusions.

I hit a green zone with each fill. But then again I have the old smaller 4cc band. From my understanding it's a world different from the new larger bands out.
Things that contribute to weight loss are also what you're eating- protein/carbs/fat ratio. And exercise: type, frequency, etc. Hormones: are you still having periods?
I'm back in the green zone as of mid-october (fell out of it due to Fluid missing in my band). And I have to say it's slower loosing now because I've herniated discs in my back and had to completely change my exercise routine until I'm healed. So where as before I could loose 5 pounds a week in the green zone- now I'm at 2, maybe 3 a week.

Leena got a reaction from Essence33 in SEX!!
If your definition of kinky sex is edge play there are some general ground rules for the band:
    1. No impact play on the port area as it's tender and can get damaged/flipped
    2. If bondage is involved stay away from the port area as well. Also- bondage after eating- watch with ropes on the band area.
    3. Inversions -to each his own- but on a full stomach with a band- No
    4. Needles- not near the port area.
    5. It may help to circle your port area in marker both laying down and standing.
    6. Tens- not in the area of the port or band
    7. Cupping - again not in the port or band area
Fire is okay on the skin above the port as is wax and wand.
These are just a few dos and don'ts off the top of my head.

Call your doctor immediately, it sounds like you NEED an unfill.
Explain to them how many times you've vomited, and see if they'll check you for a slip.
Your stomach needs to rest, my doctor recommends liquids after any vomiting for a few days.

I LOVE PB2. I can't seem to find it in stores around here so I order mine on Amazon. It's perfect in plain greek yogurt. 1 spoonful does it.

I have a flock of backyard chickens, so we have a lot of fresh eggs: all brown and blue.
So: what is your favorite way to cook an egg?
    Favorite receipe?
Do you like eggs of other birds?
I'm considering adding other birds in the future. Yes fresh eggs are a good source of Protein. And I'm always looking for new ways to cook them.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________________
Personally: I'm not a fan of scrambled eggs. My favorites are sunnyside up and soft boiled. I also like the egg whites. My dogs sometimes get the extra yolks.
Quiche with goat cheese and spinach is a win for me in terms of receipes.
I actually haven't had eggs of other birds. I'm considering trying duck and quail eggs. But I'm still on the fence about it.

Very cool lipstick lady- I never thought of freezing quiche. I'm going to have to do this. And I like the idea of mini-sized. I have 3 sons so I rarely make anything mini around here. But that would be a good quick lunch for me while they're at school.

I am totally a quiche girl. I do crustless mini quiches the size of brownie bites. They freeze easily and I can pop out the one or two my tiny tummy can hold. (Sleever here.)
I love poached eggs and I often bake eggs to "hardboil" them instead of doing the stovetop Water method.n They turn out much better and are easier to peel.

Mmmmmm....experiment with different flavors of deviled eggs, too.
Here are some ideas to start you off:

Quail are apparently easy to raise. But my town is meeting tomorrow night about allowing backyard livestock. Technically we can have them but it's based on a 1850s law. So I'm hoping to keep my chickens and goats. Go figure suburban NJ. If you look on craigs list in your area you may find people selling quail eggs at a reasonable price.

I'm 6 years out. And end up back in every year or so for something. Most recently it was knowing I was able to eat too much, gaining weight because I couldn't work out as much due to injuring my back- only to find out that part of my fill was missing. It's something to keep on top of.
I have the smaller 4cc band so my fills are all very small anymore. My last one took me from 2.7cc to 3.1 cc so we're talking little tweaks here and there. Although with the smaller bands that's all it takes. 0.1 cc makes a huge difference in the green zone, actually if I added 0.1cc I know I'd be too tight.
I see from your signature that you're getting close to the limit of your band, so it would make complete sense that your fills need to get smaller. At 9.5cc in an 11 cc band a whole 1cc makes a huge difference. I'd ask what the smallest fill your surgeon can do is. Maybe try adding 0.2cc or 0.5cc. I know mine adds by the 0.1 in small bands, but I wouldn't see why they couldn't add little amounts in larger bands as well.

A hot water bottle in bed at night works wonders. And it actually stays hot all night and is much more economical than an electric blanket. You're all going to laugh, but jammies with feet- yes they make them for grown ups.

I think your trick was in the organic milk. I can instantly tell the difference between organic and regular. Organic has a much richer taste when it comes to milk.
Once you get to eggs you should try organic free-range local eggs. I love mine to the extent I won't even eat a store egg anymore.

Here's one: Bill Gates has gone into the fake egg making business. Would you eat an artificial egg? Haven't heard about it here's an article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2416808/Artificial-egg-PLANTS-backed-Bill-Gates-set-revolutionize-cooking-goes-sale-Whole-Foods.html

In this case i think your employer has a right to know about your surgery if you're going to be entrusted with potentially saving others lives. Also, you may want to ask your surgeon when you can return to work, ie chlorinated pool, rescuing people.
And at work, I'm sure you signed a contract regarding performing duties.

I'm a vegetarian now, well since April. I was one 20 years ago as well for about a decade. Anyway- I still have milk and eggs, so I don't fall into the vegan category.
I find Protein drinks to be a good thing- at least one a day for me. Other than that, eggs (I have backyard chickens so I get fresh eggs). There's a peanut powder, PB2, that's fairly high in Protein and lower in fat that's easy to flavor things with. Other than that the standard tofu, tempeh, lentils. In a bind I'll have a boca burger. cheese is another good one for me- cottage cheese with balsamic vinegar and spices. Spinach is good too- but in order to get enough protein from it you'd have to juice a bag or bunch of it.
