  9. Well, my first consultation is tomorrow! My surgon only lists The Gastric Sleeve not the Bypass on his website so I'm not sure what options I will have!

Please question the surgeon doing the sleeve since you have severe reflux problems I suggest doing a search on this site for reflux and surgical experience. Bypass might be best for you under the circumstances. Just be sure to take the vitamins you need and get good after care.

Unless you have GERD/reflux problems, GO WITH THE SLEEVE! You'll be full with very little food, no "stuck" feeling, no surgical connections (therefore, safer), you can still absorb all the vitamins and minerals you take in. That translates to not having problems with vitamin deficiencies 10 yrs. down the road and being less expensive for doctor followups to check for vitamin deficiencies. It WORKS-- you can lose just as much with the sleeve as the bypass.

  12. I can't figure out how to post a pic of myself? lol. So let me tell you a little about it. the pic on the left is of me on the evening before I started my 2 week pre op diet. I weighed in at 287. I was out having my "last meal" at Wendy's. The one of me on the right is of me today. I turned 49. It has not been easy, but I'm getting there. Old eating habits are hard to break, but i'm going to break them. I wish you all the best.

If you're following your NUT's instructions, you should be good to go. I'll find out near the end of January when I have my blood tests.

I had the sleeve near the end of September and was also very tired. It's very common and will pass.

  23. I meet my surgeon on 1/14/2015. I'm working on my letter of intent. Had psychological evaluation 1/7/2015. I still have to get off of caffeine. I also have to find exercises that do not injure my knees.

  24. 8 months post op and I feel amazing. I laughed so hard yesterday because I didn't realize when I got off the metro I had been running up the stairs to catch my bus and I wasn't looking for oxygen and a paramedic! Feeling good on my way to great!
