Hip is better... was a little worried about just going all out this morning but so far, it's not hurting any more than it was. It's inflammation and it takes a while to go away. Have fun later!

Ice. Ice. Ice!! And have you tried using a foam roller before? They hurt but help!! Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Problem is it's really deep in the joint... ice doesn't touch it. I use a foam roller but it really doesn't do anything for the hip. Stretching does but when it's inflammed really bad the only thing that really helps is rest. This is the worst it's been in a very long time which is annoying since I've taken 50 pounds of weight off of it... it should be happy! :)

  2. 2/3s of the way to goal in less than 3 months... YES... I can do this!

I can't wear a 6 in every pair... but when I found this pair that fit nice and was a 6, you KNOW I bought them in 2 different colors! lol I can't believe I fit in them either. My wildest dream with the WLS would be to get down to about a size 10. I still have 15 pounds to get to my conservative goal... if I can hit that easily and keep losing I will -- 140 would be a BMI of 25 for me, so I could drop a little lower and still be healthy. No idea what size jean that will be! lol

I actually wore size 0 and 2 in high school, so a size 6 thirty years later ain't too shabby!

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Ginger Snaps, I think it's awesome, I am down to a size 14 and couldn't believe it when I put those on I could emagine a 6? I don't think I will get that low, but at this point you never know, I was also thinking a 10 would be perfect? I can't remember the last time I was a size 10 if ever? lol, Congrats girl, you are doing amazing!!!

  9. Boy, was that pound hard to lose! Been stuck at 186/187 for over 10 days (only 4 weeks out) and getting pretty discouraged but at least the scale moved this morning!

I saw my surgeons NP this week and she explained why folks stall. Its the body working on new set points......Glad you are on a new one!!

      PrettyFatGirl

I've had a stall as long as well! Glad i'm not alone

  10. Challenging weekend of a LOT of driving, trying to find healthy options when I stopped (packed some food but not everything) and having car trouble causing an extra nights stay. Add that to PMS and a problem with my hip keeping me from exercising... I'm in quite a state!

    1. Jordan861

      Jordan861

Deep breath... now proceed on... your going to do great!

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

@ginger snap, ok lady, it happens to all of us from time to time, so, these are the places that I go to when this happens to me - sans the PMS because hopefully that is over with for me. Wendy's for Chili, Taco Bell for Cantina Bowl. When knees give me problems, I take the needed rest and sit back with my favorite crystal light drink and say WOO-SAH~~~ What else can we girls do right?!? Peace.

  11. Do you ever start to think how much you weigh and you think 175, no, 155, no wait... 145!!! I guess my brain can't wrap itself around a number in the 140's!!!

    1. Packerfan61964

      Packerfan61964

I think about it at times. but my first thought is making it out of Threetown and getting to Twoville

    2. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Those big century marks must be great @Packerfan61964... I was a relative lightweight so I only had one of those to pass and it was really quick (only 10 pounds). So for me, the decade milestones have been big ones (90, 80, 70, 60, 50...) Be sure to celebrate when you hit the two's!

  12. Dreading doctor visit today -- weight loss great -- labs (iron) not so good...

    1. shmily

      shmily

are you taking a separate iron supplement? I do. I believe it is 27 mg daily in chewable.....

    2. Beni

      Beni

I am taking 18mg of iron twice per day - it's what is on the two multi vitamin Centrum pills . I just decided to have them 12 hours apart 8:30 AM and 8:30 PM because vitamins that aren't used are tinkled away and this way I was spreading the load. This does mean I have to take pills 4 times per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime). Were you taking about this amount? Please let us know what the doctor advised. You'll get it right, no worries. This is why we get tested.

    3. jodie1961

      jodie1961

Ginger Snaps....how did your doctor deal with your iron numbers? Just wondering how mine is going to be as well. thanks for sharing.

Ginger that is great! And what a great time too! I am still nursing a foot injury and cannot walk/train. I will be missing the 1/2 Marathon in our city next Saturday. But....with even more weight loss in the next year, I should be able to kill my last years time! Very proud of your accomplishment.

  14. First time in years I've dressed up for Halloween -- take a look at my profile pic and let me know what you think!

LoL nice, I am dressing up too for the first time since I was a kid out going trick or treating, but my costume isn't sexy at all, we are all being clowns and I have these big baggy overalls? lol

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Mine wasn't really intended to be sexy -- most adult costumes are pure tramp and this was the most "conservative" one I could find! But I'm LOVING it!

  18. Hello 160's and size 12 jeans! It's been a long time since I've seen you!

  19. How do you get to the point where you look in the mirror and see what other people see instead of the way you used to look?

Same here. Even though I can get into a smaller size than 10 months ago, I keep buying clothes that are way too big. For as big as I still am, I am not as big as I think I am.

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Thanks ladies... it's just hard to wrap my head around. Today, laying in bed, I checked just to see and I can almost wrap my hands completely around one thigh. And the size 6 jeans I'm wearing are sagging in the butt and I have a date tomorrow night, so I'm going to get the size 4's today in the same brand. But when I look in the mirror I don't feel skinny. But a SIZE 4 JEAN??? I MUST be small, right? Just so weird.

    4. shmily

      shmily

That is one thing I dont have a problem with this time around. In fact I become a bit vain LOL

  20. Hurt my hip - can't exercise... scale has stayed the same for 10 days straight now - going crazy but I'll keep keeping on

Hang in there girl, it will move again. I have been stuck for almost 2 weeks now. But, I figure our bodies have to do some catching up. I haven't been able to walk/exercise for about 3 weeks, so I am sure that is part of it as well. I am going to keep keeping on too!

      Ginger Snaps

So, yesterday I complained, today I dropped that next pound. Complaining obviously burns a lot of calories! I knew weight loss would get slower the closer I got to goal so I expected this. Makes it a little easier to swallow.

    4. Beni

      Beni

Nope, it was a fluke, I complain all the time and it doesn't work. Wait, maybe it only works for WLS patients. I GOT TO GET SOME! LOL

  21. I may actually be past the 50 pound mark when I see my surgeon Tuesday for the 3 month visit.... can you say 'Woot! Woot!'???

    1. Zoey716

      Zoey716

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

@Zoey716 -- the assessment went well. I was a little disappointed that I hadn't improved more in some areas... still weak in core; arms were much better and more flexible... hips/legs still very tight but a little better. Gotta work that core more (which I hate!)

Thanks @RJ'S/beginning -- I am finally starting to get comments at work -- I think people are afraid to say anything until it's just obvious -- just like when you think somebody is pregnant! :)

  22. If I keeping feeling so good I'm gonna need to gain weight to keep from floaing away!

    1. Miss Mac

      Miss Mac

Funny that you mentioned this. I was out for a doctor's appointment yesterday, and that famous Chicago wind nearly blew me off my feet. Then I realized that I don't have so much extra weight holding me down any more. Another NSV for both of us, eh?

Same here in the 'soda, nearly blew me away like a gentle autumn leaf... :)
